A city along the B&O Chicago line, Willard, Ohio was renamed (from Chicago Junction) after Uncle Dan in sincere appreciation for what he had done for the B&O railroad.
I am from Willard Ohio which was Chicago Junction from1874 to 1919. Then became Willard after Daniel Willard. Recently Willard just had its 150th Anniversary.
Dear B&ORR museum, by any chance was his private car the B&O Ohio. As the cars inside tho beat up. Looks exactly like that car on the inside. I would like to know if it could be possible.
Amtrak is the spiritual successor to the B&O as it continues to run the Capitol Limited and offers the same service as the Royal Blue did, if Willard was alive today he would’ve been damn proud of how our government funded RR system handles service to it’s customers.
