Hello thank you for the demonstration of the repair attempt, I also have an Atari after changing all the capacitors and the power supply kit on eBay, I noticed that there is a short circuit on the diode connected to the power jack that I have. I haven't changed, is this normal???
Shout out from Middletown NY! Just a clarification you do need a game in for testing for the lynx, unless you remove the shielding and solder a jumper from pin 31 to 33 on the cartridge connector. I was just working on a Lynx II myself and scoured the atari age forums. I got a capacitor set from console5 and replaced to no avail, seems as though a chip may have fried as I am just getting a blank backlit screen when I apply power to the board.
Awesome thanks for the clarification. Yea it seems pretty common that these things get fried chips. That's awesome that you're local! I keep wanting to go to the arcade that's in Middletown. One day lol. Thanks for watching!
@@AMComputers There's definitely a lot to do at that arcade! I ended up double checking the usual bad power areas on my Lynx II, found a bad mosfet, and installed the power tune up kit from console5 as well, I can now power on the console! My last ditch effort is replacing the RAM, if that doesn't work, seems I have a great parts Lynx minus the main chips. Lol. Best of luck in your continued repairs!
