Many things have changed since then( '10 Scirooco -> S3 saloon tango Red right now), its great to see you making Your dream come true with S6. Right now S6 Avant is my goal, so fingers crossed that in like 2 years I could comment "its here" ;) cheers!
I dunno if y'all have driven(really driven, you gotta get it to 8k) a B7 RS4... but as drivers I think would would thoroughly enjoy, it is a masterpiece. V8? Check! High revving torquey engine? Check! Nimble? Check! Well made/luxurious? Check! Oh yeah, and it is a STICK with a sweet tranny, and great DRC suspension (until the DRC starts leaking :/). I sold my 07 RS4 (which I had planned to be buried in) with the coming of my second kid 10 years ago, and have been trying to get that RS4 kind of feeling back since... B7 S4, C6 S6v10, both with mods, and currently in a C7 S6. I have enjoyed all of these cars... all excellent... but the B7 RS4 was a whole different level of amazing/engaging, and worth the effort to find one to experience if you can! I would love to watch y'all take the RS4 to a place where you can do what you want... like "Mexico".
Are you planning to install the JHM oil screen? It’s a supposed fix and basically it’s a serviceable oil screen, so you can filter out bad stuff but also not worry about the turbos clogging
Great video, very informative. God I love European cars, but I'm too cheap to risk purchasing one used and running into high maintenance and repair bills. They are incredible values as used vehicles and on occasion I am sincerely tempted. I have heard too many horror stories about out of warranty repairs to risk it. I wound up with an 8cyl Camaro and although it's probably the worst ergonomics wise car I have ever owned, it's easier to overlook because it's so Damn fun. Thanks again guys, keep em coming.
Like you I moved from my GTI (MK6) to a b8.5 s4. I will say I do miss the light nimbleness of the gti. And of course the gti was a manual, while the s4 is a dual clutch. Thinking about buying a second true weekend car, something vintage and manual
I have owned a MK5 GTI and now I own a B8.5 S4. Please don't make me buy an S6!!! *Checks CarGurus* All jokes aside, I'm really happy with my S4, but I'm starting to do some shopping to see what my next car will be. I'd prefer to stay in the VAG world, but could consider other german/european options.
@@user-fr5rd1sz5d It's so underrated. Here in the UK most people have the coupes but i absolutely adore the sportback, it's like a smaller, sleeker S7. Mine is phantom black with black rotors :)

You guys talking about this car not revving as high as the S4. Im over here in my Q5 TDI revving to the 4500 redline with zero noise. I am too gun shy to buy an S6. I'll probably end up in a 2018+ S4 as I love the tech and the interiors of those cars. If I could afford a 2019 A6 with the 3.0T, I would because that car was a dream to drive. The A6/S6 is just so sublime and calming to drive.
S6 still seats 5. Audi did this weird thing and put a plastic tray where the middle seat SHOULD be in the S7 so it becomes a 2+2. (One of the reasons our family chose an a7+tune vs S7… need all 5 seats for 3 kids!)
@@hikeskool specifically the srm intake replaces the bottle neck with the stock turbo inlets or get rs7 inlets. Big gains with the srm ones. Especially with a tune. Plus all the noises your get.
@@hikeskool gutted cats, straight pipe exhaust, srm tcu, rs7 inlets, custom intakes, srm lpfp lines w/ethanol sensor, autotech hpfp pistons, srm rs7 turbos, Ds1 modified stage 4x alpha file on e65-e70 depending on where I get e85. With lots of wheel spin best to date is 10.76 at 130.26 1/4 mile and 2.95 0-60.
what do you think about the S4 vs an A6 with the 3.0t? I want that 3.0t reliability and tuneablity but I want the comfort of the A6 platform, seems like a nice middle ground.
Hey Eli! I was wondering if you could mention the must haves that you were looking for when you decided to purchase your S6. Also, have you heard about the “turbo oil feed line starvation prevention upgrade” by GMP performance? If you have, is that an upgrade that you would consider to have installed I the future? Assuming of course that you want to reinstall the oil screens.
I don’t feel a need to install the oil screens back honestly. My must haves were the sport seats, adaptive cruise (because I think it makes the front end look better), and no sport package!
Ahhh, your ignorance is showing. COVID does exist at the table - but contact tracing is much easier to do when everyone is sitting down and stationary.
