What kattappa meant was "I don't want Queen mother to be villan. She is the one who raised him. People won't listen to them if they come to know she is the villan. You did not get Katappa rightly. Please recap his entry scene in part1. First thing is he belongs to protectors family who are very loyal to kings and cannot refuse any tasks given by them. 2 He don't want Shivagami to get the stains of killing Bahubali. That is the reason for expressions shown by Katappa at the time of killing makes him look more robotic. Good acting by Katappa.

I feel like you guys somehow forgot a large part of what happened earlier in the movie? Why were you so confused when Devasena walked towards Baahubali instead of Bhallaldeva and stuff, that was very clearly established before that Bhallaldeva tricked Sivagimini into promising him that she would get him married to Devasena? I think you need to understand the scenario here better. Devasena insulted Bhallaldeva when Sivagamini sent the marriage proposal earlier, and ever since then, Sivagamini hated her. You're right about the fact that pride is her fatal flaw - she has been taking care of things ever since Baahubali's father died and is not used to having her decisions challenged. She did make a lot of horrible mistakes, but she was being manipulated by her son and her idiotic husband, who slowly fed her poison against Baahubali, using Devasena as leverage. And in the end, when she realized what she did, she made up for it by literally sacrificing her life for Mahendra Bahubali (Jr.) And Kattappa - I feel like you guys just expect him to make his own decisions, but he's a slave to Mahishmati's throne and HAS to obey the king's command. I'm prepared to bet that refusing to kill Bahubali was the first time he ever disobeyed a royal command, and he was so torn up over doing that, he asked them to kill him for his disobedience. This was thousands of years ago, there aren't any anti-slavery concepts yet. He agreed to kill Bahubali when Sivagamini said that she would do it instead because he still respected her and knew that she was being manipulated, and also because Bahubali being killed by his own mother is worse. And you have to admit that Bhallaldeva's plan was pretty solid - Sivagamini had no reason to believe that Bahubali didn't try to kill Bhallaldeva. She was trying to be a good queen because in her mind she was making a tough but necessary decision. If the roles were reversed ie. Bahubali was made king and Bhallaldeva tried to kill him, she would do the same thing. You dont have to agree on everything I said, I just wanted to help you understand something I thought you may have missed... Anyway, lastly, can you please try to update quicker? You guys are thinking Shivagami is stupid to make wrong decisions but you should analysis that her own husband and son are manipulating her, She loves them too, just as she loved Bahubali or it could be even more.

Kattapa didn't kill bahubali for a lane reason , his ancestors long ago gave their word that their future generations would forever be slaves to the one on the throne , kattapa's loyalty to the one on the throne irrespective of who it is shows his integrity

And he didn't want Bahu's heart broken after knowing his mother wants him dead so that's the second reason. It's a story and bahubali charector inspired by three god like figur one is Actual Bahubali (Sage Mahavir) and Lord Ram plus King Karna combined their characteristics to make one hero story.

*Kattappa did not tell Bahubali the truth before killing him because Bahubali love his mother so much and that betrayal would break him apart in his last moments that's why Kattappa let bahubali in the dark during his last moments. This is painful.*

Let’s say you have a best friend and your mom also likes him but after some incident happened at school, your friend got expelled even though it’s not his fault then when your friend comes to your house “your mom says cut friendship with him and he is not welcome in this house, and starts angrily going to slam the door” then will you let it happen or you go to door and say “we can’t be friends anymore” because if your mom says it will hurt him more so you take the burden to pacify, similarly in this case the queen mother loved, raised him as her son but seeing her own son bleed, she had change of heart due to pride, she ordered kattappa to kill Baahubali, Now even though kattappa initially refused and offered himself to die, He said he will kill baahubali because Baahubali will feel more hurt if his mother kills him, so kattapa takes burden and kills Baahubali

Let me put this in a better way that the affection for her own son (Bhalla) overshadowed the affection for Baahubali (Not real son) due to a very strong conspiracy. Moreover how can Katappa allow a mother to kill a son she nurtured.

Both Baahubali and Mother will shatter to pieces if she kills him. Thats why Kattappa says he will kill Bahubali. He just chose the worse option rather than the worst option. A mother killing her son and the son coming to know about it is THE WORST thing. That’s not a lame reason.

Also the reason why he suddenly died before he could see his child born because there was a war at maheshmati and he died saving his brother yes the handicapped guy who is father of bhallaldev.the villian And raj mata who was ruling maheshmati once wanted to destroy it. Ofcourse before her marriage
