My recommendation after you have already watched both parts: Watch them again in one stinng back to back as a 5,5 hour movie. You will get so much more details the second time. For instance: Devasena is the SISTER of the King of Kuntala Kingdom, which makes her a princess. Kumara Varma is the brother of the quuen (wife of Devasenas brother), who hoped that he will marry Devasena at some point. Devasenas brother, the king of Kuntala, is also the leader of the rebels against Balla. The bow and arrow Balla shots his mother Divagami in the back with was a gift from her earlier in the movie (when she spoke with him about building a palace for him).
