There is no doubt ZTE will suffer short term setback but a Japanese friend once told me with pride thatJapan used rely on Germany for superior optical lenses but during the WWII the supplies were cut off. Japan was forced to develop their own. We all know the rest of the story. after the war their optical lenses and cameras dominate the world market. Necessity is the mother of invention and progress. China will have indigenous superiors products for her own and may even dominate the world market in no time at all.

The US did not extort billions of dollars from ZTE ZTE was forced to pay a fine because they were illegally shipping hundreds of billions of dollars worth of telecommunications routers to a iran an North Korea sanctioned countries by the us that they were not supposed to do and that's considered theft because ZTE headquarters were in the US basically on American soil so as a penalty they put a moratorium of 7 years on American made parts for their phones so basically it's like saying that ZTE is out of business or going out of business and plus ZTE phones won't have any access to Google Play or RU-vid or anything like that so any ZTE phones made outside of China won't have access to the Android program a software which is predominantly from the US
