I happen to watch Maula Jutt here in the metro Washington DC area (I am originally from Lahore and watched the original Maula Jutt in a theater in Lahore when it was released), Hate to say this but watching the remake of Maula Jutt was a huge disappointment. The only brief entertainment was when you, Resham, and Nayyar Ejaz were on screen. Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and the rest of the cast were unwatchable. Firstly, the acting in "Maula Jutt" was subpar (excluding you, Resham, and Nayyar Ejaz), to say the least. The performances lacked depth and failed to evoke any genuine emotions with unnecessary out-of-place Hollywood/Bollywood inspired special effects. The actors seemed to be merely going through the motions, delivering their lines (using terrible diction in the Punjabi language) without conviction or nuance. The lack of chemistry among the cast members further weakened the impact of the narrative, making it difficult to invest in the characters or their journeys. It was disheartening to witness such uninspired performances, which ultimately detracted from the film's potential. In addition to the disappointing acting of the main characters, the direction of "Maula Jutt" left much to be desired. The pacing of the film felt disjointed, with scenes that dragged on unnecessarily (especially scenes with Mahira Khan) and failed to contribute significantly to the overall plot. The narrative lacked coherence, and important storylines were either underdeveloped or hastily resolved, leaving the audience feeling confused and unfulfilled. The director's inability to establish a clear vision for the film was evident, as the movie struggled to find its footing and failed to engage viewers on a meaningful level. Furthermore, the technical aspects of "Maula Jutt" were also lacking. The cinematography and editing did little to enhance the viewing experience, with uninspired shot compositions and jarring cuts that disrupted the flow of the story. The visual aesthetics felt uninspired, failing to capture the essence of the setting or effectively convey the intended mood. These technical shortcomings further compounded the film's issues, detracting from any potential strengths it may have had. It is disheartening to provide such negative feedback about a movie, as I understand the tremendous effort and dedication that goes into the filmmaking process. However, it is important to provide honest and educated feedback in order to encourage growth and improvement within the Pakistani filmmaking industry. With utmost respect and appreciation,
