"Children should be seen and not heard from. Better yet: Never 'seen,' or 'heard' from' again." LOL I just love that quote! Gotta appreciate the dark humor here!! XD!!
OH MY GOD. To the people who grew up with this movie: When you guys saw " A series of unfortunate events", did the story of orphans forced to live with an unpleasant old uncle ring a bell, but you didn't know why? I now know! :D
Yeah! I'm glad that I'm not the onle one who saw that Barnaby looks like Count Olaf! I think that Paramount and Netflex took something from this cartoon to create the image of Olaf. They indeed have many similarities - they both like money, their houses and their styles are alike, their attude to children and that scene where Barnaby sings shows that he likes making fires too. And I'm sure Mary and Tom are working for VFD)))
According to my friend who's never seen it but I showed pictures to, she instantly said he reminds her of a Hobgoblin (which are apparently leaders of the goblins) so apparently they actually got it spot on!
*Introduction* Rodrigo: It didn't take long for the downfall. Poor little Jack and Jill. (spoken) Now isn't it sad, Gonzargo? Gonzargo: Too bad about that hill! (guffaws) Rodrigo: We're off to the goblin forest, and I'm glad you're looking glum! Cause, oh, oh, oh, oh, the worst is yet to come! Both: Oh, oh, oh, oh, the worst is yet to come! Rodrigo: (spoken) These kids don't look so good around the gills! (singing) The forest is crawling with goblins. They're deadly! They're creepy! Gonzargo: They're tough! Rodrigo: They're passion is mass destruction. Gonzargo: I think they breathe fire and stuff! Rodrigo: They chew up unlucky children like so many pieces of gum. Oh, oh, oh, oh, the worst is yet to come! Both: Oh, oh, oh, oh, the worst is yet to come! ---------- *Dialogue* Jill: (to Gonzargo) You couldn't take us to such an awful place! Gonzargo: I could too! (to Rodrigo) Couldn't I, Rod? Jack: (to Gonargo and Rodrigo) I'll bet you're both phonies! And this is your FIRST job! Rodrigo: (angrily) Shut up-a your mouth! (to Gonzargo) Tell them, Gonz! Gonzargo: (singing) On the isle of Iggadig, a pirate captain paid us big to finish off a serpent from the sea! With eighty heads! (Jack and Jill roll their eyes incredulously) Rodrigo: Once the town of Jellyroll was bothered by a nasty troll! Both: We bashed his face in for a handsome fee. (Rodrigo gets hit and sings dizilly along with Gonzargo) Gee! Ain't that a lovely memory? Rodrigo: Eeeeeeee~! Gonzargo: (spoken) Oh, how I love to reflect! ------------- *The goblins begin to multiply* Rodrigo: Be very afraid little kiddies! Gonzargo: You babes, be filled with gloom! Rodrigo: (to Jill) No dollies or dancing flatwear in the forest of your doom! Both: You'll wish you were back in the attic, in the dark, without a crumb! Gonzargo: Oh, oh oh, (Both) oh, the worst is yet to come! Both: Oh, oh, oh, oh, the worst is yet to come! ------- *Deeper in the cave, Gonz and Rod are panicking* Rodrigo: Your nerves are jarred. Your heart beats hard. Gonzargo: (stammering) Like a k-k-kettle drum! Rodrigo: You're hearing shrieks and eerie squeaks! Gonzargo: (panicking) Where is that one coming from?! Rodrigo: It's worse than we imagined! (to Gonz) Gonzargo stop sucking your thumb! Gonzargo: Oh, oh oh, (Both) oh, the worst is yet to come! Gonzargo: Oh! Rodrigo: Oh! Gonzargo: Oh! Both: (screaming) OH! Goblin King: (speaking) The worst is yet to come! (guffaws)
