Once the parasitic infection is treated medically with either Atovaquone and azithromycin or with clindamycine and quinine, the parasites will begin to die. Once they die the hemolytic process will stop. But if the patient isn't treated medically, the hemolytic anemia can go on for quite some time...
@@HowToGastro Thanks. There are also some minor symptoms like small red dots at skin surface that never really go away. Good thing to look for if suspected. One of the biggest issues with this bug, is general lack of proper testing. It is next to impossible to get a blood stain done in Canada...wondering if that type of anaemia could cause issues over years/decades but never actually cause death.
