The doctor who helped catch child-killer Lucy Letby has told ITV News that babies' lives could have been saved if hospital bosses had contacted police sooner.
Dr Ravi Jayaram, who is a consultant paediatrician at the Countess of Chester Hospital, said he repeatedly raised concerns about his former colleague months before police were alerted.
In an exclusive interview, he has detailed to ITV News how executives at the top of the organisation at the time told him to “draw a line” under his suspicions and to apologise to Lucy Letby for his accusations.

I wouldn't want to go there for an aspirin! so they closed their eyes and hoped it woudl go away, so they could keep their fat paychecks and cushy jobs. they should face some culpability, even if it is just getting personally sued by some of the latter parents for not stopping her sooner. the hospital admin made a choice. a conscious choice. and if you don't want it to keep happening, then you heed to assign consequences. 🤷‍♂

Two facts for starters: It was ONLY after the consultants who were running the neonatal unit became the subject of a critical report from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) that they went on to file a report with the police alleging the infant deaths were due to the actions of nurse Lucy Letby... In all but one case, the infants received autopsies and the coroner found that they died of natural causes... Draw your own inferences (...)

No excuses, sue the NHS stop acting like it'll affect them in the least the government will continue to siphon money into that pit.

@@leannes1083 no no, the compensation comes from Govt, not the NHS. you're getting mixed up
@leannes1083

@@BOZ_11cos they've got so much money to spare. Take it from the execs, they aren't spending nigh on a decade at school, like doctors do, so why do they need to be on quite so much money? It's greed. But the government/NHS are 1 and the same essentially, taking money from 1 hurts the other, and the NHS can't afford to lose any more money. It took 11 years to get my surgery, if I'd gone private from the beginning, before my diagnosis, it would have been over and done with within 3 months. Hence why I don't want any money taking from the nhs be it directly or indirectly

If I'd been a suspicious doctor or nurse on that ward I would have placed a hidden camera there. It's unbelievable how nobody acted or spoke up at the right time.

Dr Jayaram is just so genuine. You can see pain is etched all over his face. May the parents of those defenceless little babies somehow find peace and my utter respect to the Dr.

I can't begin to imagine how upset and angry those parents must be feeling. The managers of that hospital let them down in the worst possible way.

Doctor Jayram and his colleagues who raised the alarm are absolute heroes. On the other hand, it would be a horrendous travesty if Tony Chamber, Ian Harvey, Alison Kelly, and Karen Rees are not charged with gross negligence and corporate manslaughter. All their pension should be stripped as well. Their arrogance is just incredible.

These managers should be fired and investigated..do they think they're above highly trained surgeons! What qualifications do they have to be in a position of such power!?
