No substitute for mother's milk. Don't even think of giving these substitutes for atleast 1 year. If baby is not drinking then that means it's not hungry or baby has stomach pain or something

Cherry better to change baby on the floor with the changing pad than at a height. Sometimes baby rolls over in a split second and falls over. It's very dangerous.

Cheery, I live in Canada too, for baby formula please order the European variety. The ingredients are much cleaner and help the baby with good gut health. e.g.HIPP, Kendamil. Please order and keep it handy even if you don't plan to use (I personally learned it the hard way) I recommend not using the ready made ones (Ive had bad experience) , they don't have clean ingredients. Similac is a good brand as an alternative if breast milk doesn't suffice the baby's food requirement .... Similac is here also in India for new borns...
The reason babies gain extra weight with formulas like similac and enfamil is because they have maltodexterin.. which is a type of sugar to fill up the calories in the formula… check European formulas like HIPP and HOLLE that are closest to breast and don’t have extra added sugar of any type

No, formula is very good here, I gave my baby Enfamil and this is wrong myth that baby grows fat, I am also new mom my daughter is 18 months old and she was on formula all this time. Anyways after 6 months breast milk looses most of nutrients so doc here in canada do recommend formula after 6 - 8 months. Yes, mothers milk is the best but sometimes flow is less for mother and baby’s stomach is not full and they keep on crying every hour. When I started formula I noticed my baby was sleeping straight for 4-5 hours as she felt full but when she was on breast milk she used to wake up every hour. You can try both for starting days.

I suggest taking a small expandable bucket for bottle washing to keep it sanitary from other sink stuff. And incase you need formula always go for Kendamil Organic infant formula or any European brand. Never introduce formulas like Enfamil or Similac or any American brands(has palm/soy oil)
Keep one regular dusting handy as well In case if you need it Special for night time when you will feel sleepy At night we use to feel very lazy and sleepy
I would also suggest please use the Dr Browns bottle. Babies tend to have a Colic problem initially, and bottles with liners are the best solution for that. Please use bottles with liners.
Another item - wipe warmer as winters are approaching she would be feeling cold. 2nd thing Just a guide based on experience- Use Viva Paper Towel. Wet them in a warm tap water, squeeze it and then clean it out her poop and then apply dry viva wipe and apply coconut oil each time. She won’t get rashes too. My kids never got rashes. We used that way. Process: Viva wet squeezed wipe Viva dry wipe Coconut oil After every Poop We cut the Viva paper towel in two pieces, Wet it them and put it in wipe warmer.

I'm a mum of a 18 month old and definitely think you should look into Formula feeding baby during the night so that it allows you to rest during recovery after having your little one and allowing for some extra sleep during the night. Babies also tend to stay more full with formula as it is slow releasing where as Breast milk is fast digested. Please do some research as it can make your postpartum journey so much better!!

We used Dr. Brown's for the first 3 months (hard to clean, but it avoids colic pain in newborns). Then we switched to Philips bottles and bought a Philips sterilizer. Life was easier after that. My son is 2.5 years old now and hardly had any colic pain. Another thing I did was use a diaper shirt inside and a sleepsuit on the outside. You should get the anti colic bottles, thats important taki baby ko colic pain (gas ki vajah se stomach pain) na ho. Philips avent me bhi anti colic bottles ate he. Try getting those ones. I did the same mistake and then switched to anti colic.
Yes its very true changing pad is very usefull no its not chonchale even in india people are using these things guys ...its for your convenience and for your baby .

kuch karo mat karo but ghar ke liye ek acha room exhaust le lena, ya fir air purifier...jitni diaper ki smell hoga room mein reh nahi paoge...dustbin faltu liya normal dustbin hi sabse best rehta hai ya fir jismein hanging cover hota hai, ekdum convenient to use. Itne chote hole mein diaper daloge toh kahi potty bahar hi na lag jaye....and bed pe change karna mujhe best lagta hai, thoda mushkil lagta hai but overtime freehand bohot hota hai but bedprotector lelena zaroor se...diapers leak hote hai which is good actually..
Hi Chatty, Hope you are keeping well with your health. I am one of your subscriber since last 2 years and was immensely happy when I heard your news about Pregnancy. I just delivered my first child last week. Few tips as a new mom. 1. After delivery start using breast pump which hospital will provide you in order to get the milk supply faster. 2. As milk takes 2-5 days to produce hospital will provide you small bottles of Simrac untill you get your own milk and they will guide you. I wish you smooth delivery. Take care!
Not my place to give advice, however prefer not giving Similac to new born, unless it's extreme. Also not every similac might fit the sensitive tummy. And if you use it with distilled water, bottles you can get it from any grocery store. And if you haven't bought a breast pump,buy one and put the milk in the bag if not required at that time. Buy milk storage bags that way your life will become easy.
That’s such a horrible thing to say. You are going to impact my business! When I invented Similac the idea was to keep it safe and healthy and I have never received any complaint regarding my invention. Trust me it’s safer than safe.

Usually I never comment. I recently had two kids back to back. Just have one pair of dress and car seat ready. That's the only thing you need to bring the baby home. The only other required things are bottle sterilizer and warmer. Bottle warmer to warm up cold milk is more important. Rest you all will figure out. Just get diaper geneie. We have both. The other one smells horrible when after few dirty diapers. Chill and all the best.
Hi Chatty and Scatty. Newborns don't take powder formula! We just had a baby, and we were recommended similac pro advance ready to feed from the hospital. Powder is not considered sterile for the infants. For a minimum of the first 2-3 months, you must feed them ready to feed a premixed formula. Powder can be introduced later, but our boy never switched to powder. He always had stomach problems when we tried to switch and kept crying all night. We are still feeding him ready to feed along with some solids as he is 7 months old now. This they will tell you at the hospital as well. Similac, Enfamil, and Nestlé are the only 3 brands that most hospitals will recommend to you and are considered the best. Also, don't overstock as sometimes the baby rejects a particular milk/feeder or pacifier. We used Dr. Brown's anti colic feeders and philips pacifiers. Both worked well for our baby. I saw that these philips feeders have got no vent and can cause cholic problems. Well, good luck to you guys! Hope everything goes well! Rascals Brand for the diapers is one of the best diapers, i have used huggees and all other brands and would rank Tis brand at Top. also you can buy a subscription online for these diapers and they will get delivered at your place every month. Trust this will be very convenient for you. Also don't go with the Genie diaper dispenser, that is not worth spending money. its not spacious as usually it will get full after 5-6 diapers only. top three brands for the baby formula i would suggest is 1. Kirkland 2. Similac 3. Enfamil please don't use any other bands. Also usually these brands go out of stock pretty often then please keep a good stock of them in advance. please buy the ready to go formula bottles handy.
I hope the nurse teaches you about wiping the kid after they've done their business..for girls it's from front to back..to avoid infection, for boys it's the other way around!
Ready to feed bottles are not a good option... Baby usee to ho jaata hain, phor woh aur koi milk nahi peeta... And super higly expensive hota hain... Its not mandate ki formula milk se weight put on hota hain... My daughter was 80% on formula milk and always under weight...
Milk powder is quite essential in first 3months... bcoz mother also gets tired because of no sleep and backpain. So sometimes formula Milk can be gvn by other family members to let baby sleep. Sunny the way u had out the garbage bag in diaper bin is wrong. Cherry think of buying changing mats on the changing pad. They can be cleaned easily and also dry quickly. Plz pack your hospital bag. It's high time now. In some parts of india, it is believed that a pregnant women should not see a newborn as it impacts health of her own child. Don't know about the logic.
Cherry and sunny right now it was just testing so its ok but other wise you got to remove the bottle nipples out of white case and individually sterlize thm then dry.. also the bottle nipple size varies 0 to 3months its diffrent 3 to 6 months different atleast in india it was so whn my son was born i got no clue abt abroad.
