a Blackbird Juvenile Flew into my Bedroom the other Night, I Nearly Poo'd Myself 😨 I put out some Water, Bird Seed & Left the Bedroom Windows WIDE Open, It had by the Next Morning 😭
Did you only feed them mealworms? Just wondering because I have a Blackbird nest outside my bedroom window and the parents feed them predominantly on worms. Some of the worms they bring are huge! Also moths etc.
I hear Blackbirds singing in my backyard every evening. I always try to give them food and they love it along with the sparrows- before flying back into the wild.
hi i have just watched your fantastic film, i have rescued one around this this size how often did you feed it and how long till they are big enough to fend for them selves thanks nick
Good morning, at this age as often as they want, maybe every 20 minutes or so until they stop asking, only release when they are feeding themselves 100% and flying properly so maybe 4-6 weeks Denise
@@wildlifevideo many thanks i have been up with it all night i went and sat with it in the garden at sunrise and wait and the parents turned up and attacked me lol, anyway it half flew off into the shrubs and they are in and out feeding it, many thanks,
😢 I did once but when I was staying up and I got tired it was trying to fly in the house when I was sleeping and my sister told me it was dead 😢😭 because it fell
These are brilliant Denise, thanks for the video, I’ve subscribed to your channel. They look very similar to a couple I filmed on my patio though they still had their feathered and very tired mother feeding them! Have a look! Thanks again and nice work! Paul B
I have baby bird so have to take care for her until i can release in nature please share some infio 1 - what is good temperature in nest for birds? 2 - how to keep that desired temperature in cardbord box? 3 - can i give bird caw sausage? 4 - If I dont have live worms what is best food for bird? 5 - when is the right time to release bird into the wild nature 6 - what to do or how to prepare bird for independent life? thank you ahead
Hi it depends on which type of bird you have, most feed their young insects worms ect, if the baby has feathers no need to use heat, but if bald put a heat mat or lamp for warmth. Be sure to cover baby if using lamp as can burn their skin. When the bird if feeding itself 100% and flying strong is when it’s time to release, but slowly limit the amount of human contact
hey! nice video! one question if you know! Do you know which of the youngs is maybe male or female! at about 03:25 you have one light brown and one dark brown young... is the dark brown the male perhaps or it doesn't matters the colour at this age! i have one too these days and it is light brown the feathers! Thank you!
I'm considering keeping any baby black birds I find indoors for a short while. I have a relatively big back garden and found a little baby who looked just like these ones a few days back, and assumed it would be fine as its mother was coming back to it every now and again to feed it it. Sadly, while I was watching it from my window, some seagulls swooped down and grabbed it. It was so defenceless and innocent. I hope to never see that happen again.
JJ studio's my best advice would b to leave them if still in the nest, I have never hatched out any babies these were just found abandoned at about 10 days old
Denise Palmer the nest was abandoned after a cat attacked it. We had no other choice. The parents didn't come back so we did what we could. I just we weren't to late for those fluffballs
@@wildlifevideo Hello Denise. Two blackbird fledgings flew into my garden about two hours ago. They flew into my window at first but they both look O.K. I have been watching the adult blackbird coming to and fro ,feeding them and keeping his eye on them. Can you advise me how long the fledglings will be in my back yard ? Thanks.
@@wildlifevideo I counted three after I sent that message to you.No trees but lots of flowers, corners, thick vine growth. I can't see them this morning but I thought I heard young voices earlier this morning. Silly question but, would they be able to fly over a wall? Thanks.
Hi Denise, I've just rescued an adolescent black bird from my cats, I have 6 cats 😬, I've put it in a cat carrier to keep it safe from them with a little water and some crushed up cat biscuits to keep it going. One of the cats had it in her mouth but it's unharmed, it can't fly its tail feathers are a little longer than the ones in your video by a cm, it can hop up ' fly' about 18 inches high. What should I do? If I let it out the cats will kill it.
I've just fed it some tiny garden worms, i filmed it eating them, it chirps after each worm, asking for more I guess. When I played the video back it heard its self chirping and replied with more chirps ❤️ Still, need some advice on what to do next with it? I'm not sure where the cats found it, if I release it in some bushes outside my garden will the parents find it? I'm worried the cats will just get it first.
Hi lovely, it sounds like a fledgling, if it’s not harmed at all best to pop in a tree/ bush parents will still be feeding him, he will hop up in a tree, takes a day or so to learn to fly, can you keep cats in for today?
