+Gail T Apenheul is indeed the best. The space they have there is wonderful! Luckily some more zoos in our country are also great!! Almost all of them. And the ones that aren't (yet) are making modern enclosures more and more.

When the researchers first reported this to their bosses they were told to look find a different troop to study because that is impossible but it's true. The females band together and eat first and establish ranks, when males display the females come together and it usually never escalates into violence because the males back down.
Even better they resolve many disputes with sex. If they had been known in the 1960s they would have been the inspiration for the hippies - make love not war. And for gay people they do that too.
