I didn't know some of the Boomer questions because to my experience (real boomer), I was in my late teens and no way did I or my friends sit around and watch some of shows that Ellen mentioned--of course, Lucy, Andy Griffith--yes, and we did know Madonna. Music was different from TV. TV meant staying home. Music was on the go (and run).

I had to laugh so hard -I was watching Judge Judy the other day and the woman was trying to talk about memes and she kept saying Mimi. 'She sent me these Mimis .... ' I suppose on one level it makes sense but it still cracked me up to pronounce it that way.

At work, a mix of ages of us realized these polarities. Asked my 20-something coworker what she thought "dungarees" were and she thought it was a kind of chocolate LOL!! Half of us burst out laughing but we all ended up laughing together when we told her.

boo yah although i do contend with calling an internet video the first meme. richard dawkins coined the term in the 60s or 70s, to describe something that has always been happening. the first meme happened with the first people.
@Ictus - You are 100% correct, the dancing baby is considered by many as the very first *_internet_* meme, and Richard Dawkins coined the term long before that! I also find it shocking that she has never even heard of Lucille Ball. I'm sure there are many others also. I wonder if they all know John Wayne? I love these little showdowns. I hope they continue for a very long time.
Well that’s not totally fair, cuz older ppl can still know the things going on now, but for the younger generations we don’t exactly have I love Lucy airing. you gotta prepare for that stuff , research it cuz it’s not relevant anymore.

My heart hurt when they didn't know Fred and Ethel! I'm 31 and still watch I Love Lucy on the regular. The best comedy ever. I can still watch every episode and laugh like I've never seen it before, but still know most of the lines before they say them! If you're reading this and haven't seen I Love Lucy, please go watch an episode or 3, they're on Hulu and Prime Video!
