@@bryansanchez8448it wasn't about liking him it was that was his woman's son and seeing him there crying and not knowing what to do Melvin knew at that moment when he saw that jody had just killed someone that is the reason why he wiped the gun
@@jesusdominguez8017jody didnt kill anyone. Pea finished him off. Melvin connected with him, knowing what his own youth was like, he told jody without words, wipe yourself clean of this life.
I had a lot of respect for Melvin, even though him and Jody drove each other crazy he must have really liked Jody or he wouldn't have helped him. by taking the gun away
I like how he has Tupac in the background on his wall. Originally Jody’s role was written for Tupac years back when Baby Boy was a project in development .
This Movie DEEP & this scene really hit hard, when Melvin & Jody looking at each other you see Pac in the back looking right at us, like this the reality of life in a black man's world & how we all just need guidance, same with the choke scene Melvin never wanted Jody to make the same mistakes he made. This scene & the scene when Doeboy is killed in Boyz are sad asf
@@artymunoz5060nah, couple of corny parts. It was Mostly good. Boyz in the hood was super corny… “i guess her mama could smell the sex in the air” 🤢 still was a good movie.
@@KDawg92801 don’t always need witnesses for a conviction. And Regardless, in Jody’s mind he knows he had a hand in the death and was involved in the killing.
This was the most powerful scene in this movie and not a word was spoken. Even though Joedy and Melvin didn't always see eye to eye, Melvin did give a shit enough about him to help him not to travel down the road that he has already traveled!!! Really G shit on Melvins behalf!!
Is it as good as boyz in da hood? No. But a CLASSIC movie on its own that sadly has kind of been overlooked. Ving rhames should have gotten a nomination and Tyrese FIRST acting gig is FANTASTIC.
Just wondering how everyone else interprets this scene. What do you see in Melvin’s expression and Body language. Why he wiped the gun off and then had Jody do it after? How Melvin knew exactly what had just happened?? One of my favorite movie scenes of all time. Just wanna know how everyone else sees it.
In all honesty Melvin is an OG. He was locked up in the pen as well. It was Melvin’s intuition and Jody’s actions that led him to keep his troubles low key and off the streets, knowing he has a child to attend to
