Thank you for this video! We already bought all the possible cups, but tried an open cup only. And our 7 month old baby drinks better and better from it. Especially soups as they are not as liquid as water and it's easier for a baby to control the sips.
I thought the 360 cup was safe? what do you recommend instead of a sippy cup or bottle while out and about, to use as a drink bottle? also, when do you recommend introducing water to a baby and why would glass hurt their gums? I love your content and I can't wait for your next video!
I remember having to try out the spoutless/360 cup myself to see, "how does this work?" and the mechanism is entirely different from open-cup drinking...which as SLPs teach us that open cup practice is important for babies to master for both feeding and eventual speech milestones. For going out and about I love the ezpz Mini Cup + Straw System cup once your baby has already had ample practice with open cup drinking. Here's a podcast episode I did with Dawn the designer of both the ezpz Tiny Cup and their Straw Cup called "Straw Cup vs. Open Cups: Which Comes First? with Dawn Winkelmann, MS, CCC-SLP" blwpodcast.com/episodes/101 that I hope can provide more info! Love this! We have videos of my son drinking from that Ezpz cup at 5 months old! He just turned a year and can drink from any cup..although dumping it seems to be his preferred activity now. Loving all your videos and so happy I found you. I work in early intervention and am a new mom and your content is so straightforward, accurate and engaging!
@@babyledweaning I would love to hear your opinion on portion control and babies/ toddler. I always find myself worried my son is eating too much or concerned I didn’t give him enough. I’ve been doing research on this and honestly can’t find much.
Thanks so much for this informative video! My daughter is 7 months and we’ve been working with the tiny cup for about a week now. She gets SO excited when I give it to her, but she just dumps it… flips it over and starts biting on the bottom lol. I don’t want to give her a sippy cup but need to get liquids into her so wondering how I might get her to actually drink out of the cup instead of playing with it. Thanks!
It sounds like your daughter is excited and playing with the cup and exploring it is developmentally appropriate 😊 So even though it's a little messy, keep practicing and you can use a gentle hand under hand approach to help guide the cup to her mouth.
I like the ezpz Tiny Cup and their feeding products because they were designed by their infant feeding expert so they're developmentally appropriate (plus cute too :)
Hi there! My baby is 12 months and I’m still having so much trouble getting him to drink from an open cup. He ended up hating it after I introduced it at 7 months so I gave it a break. Now he just plays with it and doesn’t want to drink from it. Any tips for teaching an already 12 month old?
Following! I have the same problem. My son just turned 12 months this week and he absolutely hates the open cup! He pushes it away when I bring it near him. I’m totally stressed trying to get him off the bottle. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
If I offer breastmilk in this how to clean ezpz tiny cup? Website says we can't boil it and I do not have dishwasher. Does washing in warm water is enough if I serve breastmilk in this cup
My baby HATES sippy cups. She loves open cups and uses them so easily. She’s been using it since 6 months. She’s 10 months now and can drink without spilling. Buying sippy cups and 360 cups was a waste of my money
As an adult I primarily use a spill proof cup, I don’t get why people seem to be so jazzed about this. It isn’t hard for a kid to learn to drink from a cup but it is an added strain to clean messes all the time. To each their own I guess.
Looking at the research, there is some evidence that teaching the cup may help but the seriousness is much overstated in all the videos I have seen today.
My kid is 6.5m he will drink out of the cup but throw it after he is done. I only fill it with the amount his mouth can hold so he can drink it all forst, then throw it
Look this is kind of ridiculous. There is no reason a six month old needs to be drinking out of an open cup. These things change every few years depending on what fad thing they are selling or pushing.
