Let know what you do to manage your baby’s drooling? Don't forget to get your free 0 - 12 months old developmental milestone chart here: get.emmahubbard.com/12monthmilestones/ 😊
My little dude is just six months, but he's been drooling like crazy since around 2 months. My mom and MIL told me it was from teething, but I can't imagine it's taking him so long to start getting teeth in. 😅 This makes a lot more sense to me. I do wonder, what signs should I look out for when he's actually cutting a tooth? He's been chewing on his hands from birth (swaddled him but he always had to have his hands free), he has days where the only thing to sooth him is to gum on a toy, he drools prolifically, but I haven't felt or seen any white nubs in the front.
Hi @Sarah Sakal I am glad this video has helped. Typically babies get their first teeth anywhere from 6-12 months. Some babies can get their first teeth at 3 months but this is very early. Usually the first teeth are the bottom centre teeth. Each baby is different and signs that they are teething are different. I found with my kids preferred puréed food when they were teething and sleep was a bit more disruptive during the night.
I m so happy that I found your channel. It's just so helpful for me being a first time mom. It's been very useful and I had been trying all your tips and tricks and it worked wonders for my daughter. My little angel is 6 months old and I want to start reading for her. Please can you suggest books to start for her. It would be so great if you could help me. Thanks for posting.
Hi @balavarshini rajasekar so glad to hear you have found the videos helpful. Also great that you want to start reading to your little one. Hard board books at this age are great (they will rip paper books). I found the touch and feel books great - so they are board books with different tactile material on each page. So something like this www.amazon.com.au/Never-Touch-a-Porcupine/dp/1789471451/ref=asc_df_1789471451/?tag=googleshopmob-22&linkCode=df0&hvadid=401284949039&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17121483311620831979&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9071974&hvtargid=pla-898214948768&psc=1
Thanks you for this video, this video is very helpful my son is 12 weeks, in any situation I always prefer your videos these are so informative and helpful... keep it up.. all the best.. takecare.
Emma: “Are you concerned about how much your baby is drooling?” Me: “No, but I’m going to watch the whole of this video anyway because you’re so interesting and informative”! ❤️
This video came right on time! I assumed the drooling was from teething, but 3 months definitely seemed early to me. Good to know the more likely cause 😆
Emma do some babies skip crawling? My 8 month old baby girl refuses to do it... should I be concerned? It’s unrelated, but 2 days ago she clapped twice for the first time, I was so happy!! Would love a specific video on teething, what works and so on. Thanks again love your channel
I'm part of a Facebook group of moms in Rexburg, ID, and this question came up recently! There were moms whose first baby didn't start crawling until 10 months, and their second started at six or seven. The developmental milestones have a pretty wide margin for normal. ❤ my little dude is six months and seems totally uninterested in crawling but loves to stand. Lots of tummy time is our goal.
Hi @Pri USA so nice to hear from you again. Wow she is 8 months already. Sarah is correct that babies can typically learn to crawl anywhere from 6 - 10 months of age. So Your little one still has plenty of time to learn this skill. I would say that she is still building up her arm strength to hold herself in 4 point kneeling. So tummy time continues to be important. Also keep remembering to put her onto and off the floor through side lying (demonstrated in my video stuck in sitting). These will all help her gain the skill and strength required to crawl. Also super exciting that she clapped her hands!
HI Emma! Firstly, thank you so much for all the time you take for the videos. It's been really useful and I truly enjoy watching them. I'm just wondering if you could do a video on baby speech development? Hope to hear from you. Thank you.
That sounds tricky. Annoying that we can’t stop our babies from drooling and that it just takes time for them to develop the muscle control to manage it.
I know this probably is a weird place to ask but is it normal for my 4 month old to squeal all the time? She used to chatter and talk but now she only squeals. It's playful and happy nearly all of the time but I'm a first time Mum and it seems like people I ask haven't had it happen before.
Hey Emma....being a new mom your channel is not less than a blessing for me....i learnt ans found so many solutions...but my concern is that my baby is 3 months old and has started drooling. But it remains in his throat and irritates him...he is unable to feed and sleep. Please help me what to do i also consulted a pediatrician but totally a waste.
As I lay with my baby for his nap I wiped away his drool. But my lady lords he drools so much at 4 months !! I had him in his walker for 5 mins or less and it was almost filled! Everywhere hahah
Thank you! My boy is nearly 10 weeks and he has just started drooling a little so this is helpful for me to know it's all perfectly normal! Im too scared to put a bib on him yet, im paranoid over any potential strangulation or suffocation risks whatsoever!! So i just use the bib to wipe it away whenever i spot some on him. He's breastfed and doesnt use a dummy so the drooling isnt too bad (yet 🤣!)
Hi Emma - I’m from New Zealand... My little one is 4 months old now and I have been watching your video for past 3 months... I just follow your opinions and suggestions- which is working so well... suggested toys / activities during 3 months - awesome ...I was looking for 4 months video and this one popped up and very useful again as my girl is drooling a lot at the moment ( I change the bib every two hours lol) - you are awesome - thanks for sharing the videos ☺️
Hi @shrithi nair thank you so much for your extremely kind words. I am so pleased you are finding the videos helpful. Hopefully it is making parenting a little easier!!! Sounds like your little one is keeping you busy and your having lots of fun.
@@EmmaHubbard - I have a elder son and I didn’t know so much when he was a baby - glad I found your video and I even educate my family 😬 both the kids are keeping me on toes but enjoying being mom again... just watched 4 months development and milestones video.. what ever you saying that’s what my girl is doing so I’m happy that she is on track ...
@@shrithinair8610 sounds like she is going very well. Two kids would definitely keep you on your toes. I have two kids (2 and 4) and life is busy. They are lots of fun though!
Thanks Emma. My boys (twins) have started drooling and one of them puts his hand more often on his mouth. I thought it was signs of teething but I just knew its too soon cause they have just turned 4 months. But thanks for the video 😉
Glad it was helpful. I also have a video on mouthing which you might find helpful- might explain why your little one is putting his hands in his mouth too.
This is so helpful! Our daughter is 14 weeks, and she has been drooling for weeks and our first didn't drool as much. I was confused. Subscribed! Thank you for this.
It is because their saliva glands have started to kick in and at 3 months they have found their hands and started mouthing them. You might find my video on mouthing helpful as I cover this in more detail. 😀
