That's a trap cats use. If you go for the belly they can tear you up with their back claws much more effectively than with their front claws. It's like "if I'm going to die, I'm going to take you with me."

Another stupid dog lover that don't know cat behaviour. Dogs roll on their backs as submission. Cats roll on their backs either as a sign of trust or to employ a more deadly fighting tactic utilising all four of its paws + claws to really scratch and slash you up, cut and or graze you up badly. Thereby either deterring you from wanting to attack it or attack it further, or they will actually kill you this way, as they scratch you up they can also easily go for your throat as you close in on its belly to attack it. As what someone above said, their back legs can greatly inflict injuries on you at times more efficiently than their front legs. But the point is I have seen it, when a cat on top tries to go for the cat at the bottom on its exposed belly seemingly, the cat at the bottom, almost immediately go for the throat to bite it and puncture the jugular like how they do their prey. Period.

This is literally how jaguars fight. Look up a Jaguar fight on here. It's why some BJJ fighters immediately go to the ground. I think BJJ is overrated sometimes but if the ground thing works I can't argue

@@enriquegarcia2790 It actually works. I do BJJ. Also being a taekwondo black belt and practitioner of pencak silat. BJJ is pretty useful. But in real life, the point is to avoid a fight and if you do fight, you want to stay standing up and knock out your opponent fast and hard. Boxing is another one I find useful which I have been doing or trying out. Honing my striking skills and improving my grappling skills. A fight is dangerous and thereafter highly recommended not to get into but if you do get into a fight, getting on the ground is even more dangerous for the enemy could kill you more easily on the ground and if he's got friends to help. But with BJJ it offers protection significantly on the ground and great self defense as well especially if your opponent is bigger than you. It greatly deters the enemy from attacking you or attacking you further once you are on the ground and he think he's got the upper hand above you. But if you are outnumbered at this point I suggest you bluff your way or quickly get up and run lol.

You can usually tell if a kitten will grow to be on the larger scale or not based on how big their paws are as kittens (when I’m choosing a kitten at the animal shelter I take this into consideration because I like it when my cats are absolute units)
