I am currently 21 weeks with my first & rainbow after 3 miscarriages and 6 years of infertility. This also helped answer some of my own questions! We found out we are having a boy. We are so blessed and thankful to the Lord for making us parents. We can’t wait for this next journey.

I am a registered nurse since before you were born and have worked many times on Christmas. Please know we are there for our patients every day of the year! 😀
I’m a retired nurse and you do get used to having to work holidays. When I worked, we got one holiday off between Thanksgiving and New Years Day. You have to figure out what day is most important each year.
I’m a retired L&D nurse. I don’t have children so I always worked on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I can promise you, Jessa, that you will receive superior care regardless of the date of delivery!
As a retired RN I am in agreement with the other nurses comments and even though I had children I still worked nights before Christmas and including to Boxing Day. With 5 kids we needed the extra money working these shifts gave us. But I loved working those nights because there was joy in the atmosphere!
I lost a baby in October 1st 2021 after caring it for 12 weeks. The doctors told us it’s heart stopped beating after six weeks so I’d caring it for all those weeks without knowing what was going on😞 It was heartbreaking for us💔 But God blessed us with our rainbow baby🌈🙏🏻 He was born exactly one year after my loss in October 1st 2022❤

Jessa, my birthday is December 19th and I never felt overlooked until I was a teenager/young adult, to which getting one gift for the two events doesn't matter to me. It's always about who you surround yourself with :)
I was born on Christmas day so I KNOW what it's like to be a holiday baby. Just be sure to acknowledge the little one's birthday along with Christmas and all will be well :-)
Our 6th child was born on December 21st. She's turning 10 this year, and so far, her birthday being so close to Christmas has not been an issue. We are very cognizant of keeping her birthday celebration and gifts "equal" to what her siblings have. Family gives separate birthday and Christmas gifts to her. Be encouraged! It can still be very special for the child:)
Yes, my granddaughter’s bd is 12/12 and we have always kept her celebration completely separate from Christmas. She also chose to never have a Christmas themed party. Yesterday we welcomed a new grand niece into the family, so another December baby to celebrate.
I lost my 27.5 year old daughter 12-24-21 to Metastatic breast cancer. Her identical twin just had her first baby 11-27-23. God's timing is perfect. My daughter had an epidural and was so thankful for it. ❤
@aileenmccarthy8660 she found her own lump due to scratching from a sunburn. After diagnosis she found out she had the BRCA 2 gene , which put her at an increased risk for breast cancer. I would say just don't hesitate to get it checked out.

I'm expecting my first grandbaby April 6th and we are all so excited! I got to say though, I only had 2 girls they are 21&22 now.. but out of all the phases, them moving out was by far the hardest even harder than the teenage years phase.. it's bitter sweet though..I love seeing them become young adults staying their own families and putting all the things you taught them into use.. Lost my baby in May and now my due date for our rainbow baby I’m pregnant with is the exact same day we found out we lost our baby too!! God is so good. ❤
I agree with what you said about not being in a good place to make the decision of more kids when you are pregnant or postpartum. I was scheduled to have my tubes tied after my third. I changed my mind right before and so glad I did. 5 years later we welcomed our first daughter into the world. I’m so glad I waited.
I hope you will one day have a girl named Rose Marie. (This is the 3rd video in which I've said this.) Rose will keep up the plant tradition of your girls' names. Marie will be after Aunt Jana, and if anyone deserves a baby named after them, it is definitely Jana; Jana is so lovely & beautiful & smart & talented.
i teared up with you, my first rainbow baby was also due the same date as our last loss. Our pregnancy center said they actually see that more often than you think. Schedule wise it may feel chaotic but how sweet is a christmas baby to relate you even closer to the spirit of that first christmas birth 🎄 oh man this postpartum contractions wahhh worse than labor IMHO…..i down the “after ease” like clockwork right after delivery to help. and supposedly warm drinks/food (instead of cold) are supposed to help with them also but i can’t vouch for that.

My oldest (who was actually a double rainbow baby!) was born on 12/24. We didn’t know his gender. So delivery was like literally being a kid at Christmas knowing you are about to get the greatest gift ever but you don’t know what it is! I feel like delivering at Christmas helped me feel more connected to the actual Christmas story! What we do each year is turn our Christmas tree into a birthday tree and put balloons all over the tree for his birthday.
I have a beautiful little garden in front of my porch. There are several varieties of Ivy, Ferns AND “Lilies.” 😊 Just in case you’re taking suggestions for names of baby girls.
My daughter Holly was born on December 19th. It is tricky but you will make it work! We had a couple of 1/2 birthdays in the summer to give her a swimming party and that was fun! 🎄
My husbands birthday is Dec.26, he always felt like he was gypped out of birthdays.. But when we were married I and my family always tried to celebrate his birthday aside from Christmas, I know you all will celebrate this baby even though it will be close to Christmas.. God bless.
I’m due with my third baby on Dec 28th!! I have all the same thoughts about not wanting it to be that close to Christmas but ultimately I know we’ll figure out how to celebrate and make sure this child’s birthday is just special/separate from the holiday. 🎄

I really appreciated your answer on the “number of kids” thing - I come from a family of eight kids and everyone wants to know whether I want a big family too. Loved what you said about responsibly managing the blessing - basically, we want as many as we can, reasonably, handle. I’m going to use your reasoning in your answer from now on!
This was very touching and emotional to me. I lost a baby on Dec 19 2016. I just had my 4th miscarriage on Oct 27th, im thankful to God for the children I have, but after having this miscarriage i can't help but feel we need one more to add to our family, even though we already have 8, it just feels like there is someone missing. Looking forward/hopeful/trusting the Lord for another rainbow baby. Its amazing how the Lord works everything out! So excited for your family and praying for you and baby.💕

My nephew, Tyler's birthday is December 22 and my son Joey was born exactly 1 year and 4 days later on December 26! You find ways to keep their birthday special and we even had a half birthday party for Joey one year because he wanted a pool party and BBQ! Sadly Joey is no longer with us 💔, on October 13, 2021 at the age of 15 he took his own life.💔😭 This year he would be turning 18. He is always with us and will always be loved and remembered by us! He was my rainbow baby after having lost my first son, John, to SIDS on June 14, 1998 and also suffering 2 miscarriages. My husband and I found out what we were having and kept it a secret from everyone, it was great! We were able to pick a name on our own without people trying to input their opinions.

how exciting!! My first 5 babies were inductions with epidurals. For my 6th I had a home birth. It was my favorite birth! For my 7th baby born 7 weeks ago, I went with a natural hospital birth. It hurt a lot more and I didn't cope as well. I don't ever want to get the epidural again, I really prefer recovery after natural delivery and feeling more in control, but the pushing without an epidural is wild! Praise the Lord I have forgotten the pain each time. I remember it being painful and hard but don't remember the actual pain thankfully!
We can relate on changing our minds! We thought 3 kids was a good number, now we have 7 and we'll probably go for 8! Never expected to have a large family, but thankful God's plan is bigger than our own!
Our daughter was born in January and we do half birthday PARTIES. So it’s nice outside and we can have all of our friends outdoors. On their actual bday we just do something with family- very intimate. So it’s not really 2 parties.
Jessa I just realized I have the same animal ornaments as you! 🦔 🦉 So cute! I had a baby born on Christmas Day and it brings a whole new meaning to the Christmas season! We are going to celebrate her half birthday in June as she gets older so she has something to look forward to mid year.
My birthday is December2Ist, Brother is December 28th. My BD parties were held 2 weeks before my BD. My brothers were held 2 weeks after his BD. My moms strict rules were no Christmas birthday cards, no Christmas birthday wrapping paper. Our birthday cakes were customized for what we wanted. She made it clear our birthdays were special and we deserved to have a special day. On our actual birthdays she made us a cake of our choosing and a special gift. And also no combined Christmas/Birthday gifts. She said that Christmas was a special day to celebrate Christ and our birthdays were to celebrate us. We grew up loved and appreciated for who we were.
My father in law’s birthday is December 22. He said he always hated getting birthday gifts in Christmas paper every year as a kid. Remember to make Christmas birthdays special and separate from Christmas for the baby so he/she feels special. 😊❤
As someone born on Dec 22 I love my birthday. Just separate birthday and christmas gift when they are young. That is super important! As I have gotten older it is fun to be able to combine to get one big gift. It is hard to do birthday parties but that is why we did them the week of the 10th or in early January with friends. If you explain that the goal is to have most friends possible at the party they will understand! God Bless you and your family!

The one thing I have seen as a Christian is parents can do their best, but God changes hearts. Kids I think often walk away if they see hypocrisy in the home. We need to be at church who we are at home. We need to pray daily for our kids.

My youngest child was due in January and came the day after Christmas. We always made sure his birthday was so special. It was hard for him to have a birthday party but we always had a half birthday party for him. He loved it and got lots of presents then.
It is such a heartbreak to watch your child walk away from the Lord. Our oldest is running full-force to the world and I cry daily. BUT, I've been privileged to see how patient He is and after 10 years of prayers (after He took the scales from my eyes and gave me a heart of flesh), my sweet husband is now 2 years old in the Lord and is now faithfully leading our family! Our second daughter is professing faith, is working towards baptism, and is evangelizing and is so bold in her high school. And our youngest daughter (our rainbow baby) is still homeschooling and is showing growth and fruit. We are so grateful and holding onto hope for our oldest. The Lord is so gracious and merciful!!! We found out our baby had passed last n October last year and also were due with our 3rd rainbow baby in October this year. She came a week early in September and is 10 weeks old now ❤❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️ your soul sister and I just had a baby girl. We highly recommend asking about the walking epidural. Then they add the full when you’re ready. It was amazing!!!! Also preach it!!! Quality. I love that. We talk about the same thing. We want quality for our kids. The number is unknown. Every couple is different. We all have different levels of good for us. We just have to see what works for us as a family.
