Baby Romper With Jacket Cutting and Stitching | DIY Very Easy Baby Jumpsuit/Dungree Dress
Hey everyone! Welcome back to my channel! In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to make a trendy baby romper jumpsuit with a stylish jacket. It’s super easy, and perfect for beginners. Let’s get started!
Materials Needed:
• Fabric for romper (soft cotton/linen)
• Fabric for jacket (printed or solid)
• Matching thread
• Elastic (for waist)
• Scissors
• Sewing machine
• Measuring tape
Step 1: Cutting the Fabric
• First, take your fabric for the romper. Measure the length from the shoulders to the ankles, and cut out two identical pieces. Don’t forget to leave extra for seam allowance.
• For the straps, cut out two small strips of fabric, about 1 inch wide.
• Now, for the jacket, measure your baby’s upper body for the length and cut out front and back pieces. Add seam allowance and cut out two sleeves.
Step 2: Sewing the Romper
• Start by sewing the side seams of the two main fabric pieces together.
• Attach the straps by folding and sewing them onto the top of the romper.
• To create a gathered waist, sew a small casing inside the waist area and insert elastic through it.
• Hem the bottom of the legs to finish the romper.
Step 3: Sewing the Jacket
• Sew the shoulder seams first, then attach the sleeves.
• Once the sleeves are in place, sew up the side seams.
• Fold and hem the edges of the jacket for a clean finish.
• Add buttons or hooks on the front for closure.
Step 4: Final Touches
• Iron all your seams to make sure everything looks crisp and neat.
• Style the romper with the jacket, and your trendy baby outfit is ready!
