It needs the stimulation and interaction. Combing the fur is just something to do, a reason to interact. The baby is gaining weight, you know how they refuse to eat at first. It messes with their sense of fidelity and belongings. So do the baths ( especially.) They've done a great job so far, if it were a pet. Myself, I would keep him in a cage outside with very little in it and very little time out of it with sparse scraps of food tossed about that it has to find, and stay myself the hell away. So that it will want it's freedom so that it knows how to spend it's time, and so that it will fear humans. Why? Because I love him and it's the best that I can possibly think of, in terms of his future best interests. Oh and I would never, ever put clothes on him or bathe him. Except once, possibly, to help him forget his mother.

Ich habe jetzt 2Wochen nicht mehr bei Shiba rein geschaut weil mich das Elend von dem Äffchen so fertig gemacht hat. Jetzt muß ich feststellen das er noch dünner geworden ist, ich hätte das für unmöglich gehalten, aber es ist so. Beine so dünn wie Streichhölzchen.
