I was a full time traveller two years ago, living out of my tent or in caves. Now I have a 15 month toddler and a 6 week old baby. I'm yet to do any real travelling since becoming a mama. How I travel will be different now. Thank you for the advice. She is just beautiful!
OMG! I live in Canada as well and I have exactly same products as you. I am travelling to India in October with then 8 month old baby. I also use those dog pee pads in public places. I thought I was the only one doing that lol.
Then We Cross America I just use one medium size one for all of my babies outfits/socks and then we use one as a “diaper bag” in our daypack. Enough space for a days worth of diapers, a pack of wipes, ointment, and we put saline spray/snot sucker in. I do wonder if they have tiny cute ones for kids!
I’ve found some good options at the dollar tree (if you’re in the US). Their pencil holder bags are perfect for packing, diapers, wet clothes carrier, etc...
This is so great! I love that Kai is already having some of those life-changing travel experiences 😂 Was there anything that you really thought you would need and took with you that you would recommend against taking?
As baby gets bigger and so do their clothes, you can use larger zip lock bags as travel vacumm bags by just rolling the air out of it, making it more compact. I took two of my children on a winter holiday overseas and was able to pack a full set of clothes (jeans, hoodie, t-shirt, thermal pants, thermal shirt, socks, fleece neck warmer, beanie, underwear) on the plane so that before we hit our destination, I was able to change them into warmer clothes on the plane. You can also use them to carry nappies, making them more compact, especially as they get bigger in size. I used the largest zip lock bags from Ikea (6L for clothes, 4.5L for nappies). I have a similar bag to your nappy bag and was able to fit all that plus more into that bag for two children aged 18 months and 4 years👍🏼
Same with my daughter she had her passport when she was 1 month old ,the second time we went for a trip she was 2 yrs old and it change a lot,now she is almost 4 i renew her passport coz it gonna expire soon😁😉
Such a great list! Also love the nose Frida! I just went on a flight with my baby solo. It went super well! I brought a small noise maker and our Doona carseat stroller. Love that things so much but since it is an infant carseat will last til baby is about 1 and a 1/2.
Clicked so fast! I'll be traveling with my then 5 month old in April and this video will come in handy! Ill check out the ezcema cream my poor baby is struggling with this cold, dry weather, thanks for the video!
I have been using clothe diapers for my little one since his first month till now(18months) We have been travelled to Taiwan (3 months old), Malaysia island(7 months old),and Singapore( many times as my husband works at there). Find Airbnb with washing machine will ease your washing routine and happy cloth diapering
Love this video, definitely super helpful. Only one question, besides the bassinet on the plane what did you use for the baby to sleep in while traveling in your hotel?
Thank you!! I’m going to travel from cold to a hot environment... New York to Puerto Rico. This video help me, now I have to see what to bring in a hot place with flies and bug 😰😰😰 we also going to the beach.
Did you ever end up taking reusable diapers while traveling? We used cloth diapers for the first 7 months of our current family travels, until we potty trained and didn't need diapers anymore. It is possible to use cloth diapers while traveling! 💜Heidi
Loved watching this even though I don't have any reason to (solo traveller 😅) but anything you guys make is always awesome ✌️😎 Also Kai is so adorable. PS loving the new multi cam setup 😎
Also, can’t thank you enough for this video! We’re all heading back to the UK for Christmas this year & our little one is 6 months old. I had most of the items on your list already on mine & I’m grateful we’re staying with my in laws at home for 3 weeks. Definitely makes things easier.
These tips were great! Kai is just a little older than my baby boy Matthias(we pronounce it Math-eye-us, but other regions of the world say it differently) and it’s been so fun keeping up with you all!
Such a great video! My husband I are getting ready to take our first flight with our 4-month old. We’re also from Canada (BC) and have the Vista stroller and Mesa car seat. I wondered if you brought the Mesa base with you, for travelling by car at your destination? I’m trying to sort out a baby in a car on holiday. Thanks so much! And I will be downloading your pdf as a guide for packing!
This is awesome! Do you use the Dapple All-purpose wipes? Do they disinfect? I can’t seem to find disinfecting wipes on their website - only spray. Thank you!!
Hey! These are all the items I use: hopscotchtheglobe.com/baby-travel-checklist/ I've been using the Aleva Naturals Bamboo wipes. They have a multi-purpose wipe that disinfects as well.
You can bring both. Most airlines allow two baby items free of charge. So that's usually between a car seat, stroller and pack and play. You can either check these items with your luggage or take them to the gate and they will put the items in a separate are for you on the plane. Then when you get off the plane, your stroller and car seat will be waiting just outside the door of the plane.
Glad this video was helpful! If you look in the video description, I have links to everything and you can even download our PDF packing checklist for free.
When did you start traveling with your baby? I was thinking of traveling with baby due to work at around 1 month if it works out after she’s born but I’m not sure if she’ll be okay or not. It’s going to be about a 6 hour flight... Thank you so much for this checklist! Definitely needed it!
I have a good friend that attempted to travel with reusable diapers and I know she told me she would never do it again as she couldn’t get them as clean as back at home in Toronto
"Cute Baby", There, Happy You Tube? I clicked on and commented on one of this lovely ladies videos. Now, can you stop shoehorning her videos as a secondary additional commercial that's over 15 minutes long during the 8-11 minute shows I want to watch? I got no (real) problem with commercials, but when You(Tube) make me suffer through multiple commercials over 15 minutes each from the same person (especially when I'm trying to watch a silly you tube video that's only 8 and a half minutes long) then I get annoyed. Especially when I'm busy cooking and have to drop everything and wash my hands just to hit the skip button. Also, great video, well presented, good editing and very useful information for any parent needing... whatever it is this video is going on about, honestly, I wasn't paying attention to any of it at all. ty =) 5:35 ok ok ok ONE thing about this video caught my eye as I was typing this comment seeing as I was still able to see the bottom of the video at the top of my screen... Wut?! Don't get mad at me! I don't grab my body parts on the vids I upload lol... wait a minute... (that moment when you realize why your vids arn't viewed as much) =P
