@@Ewokpilot65 Luke is the main character of Star Wars. Always was and always will be. No one accepts MaRey Sue Palpatine, and frankly, Star Wars' decline since 2017 or earlier is proof of it. Having Luke show up should be a regular thing. Don't call it "fan service." There's no reason we can't have him as a normal character. Absolutely zero.

My God the CGI in this scene for younger Luke was honestly the best I've ever seen! Like, for all the world his face looks real! It's incredible how far that technology has come! Even from Leia's 'appearance' in Rogue One. That looks positively fake now in comparison to this.

I have seen commentary that this is why Yoda went to Dagobah, and why none of the resident monsters seemed to attack his little hut. He was *THE* apex predator in that swamp! The wildlife probably weren't at all surprised when Yoda seemingly turned that weird Human thing into a mount.

Kind of opposite sides of the spectrum, a large and heavy spacecraft vs a bunch of frogs. It took him alot of effort to move the x-wing because he perceived it as being too heavy, the frog thing is more about sensitivity and fine control

Luke could always lift the X-Wing (with his power level he could probably lift 100 X-Wings), it's not that it was too heavy or complicated, its that he simply didn't believe that it could be done. That was the point of the scene. He had the ability, but not the belief - "do or do not, there is no try"

I like how Luke not only says "don't give up. NEVER give up!" as a reconstruction of Johnson's assassination from episode 8, but also has him being a better teacher than Obi-Wan and Yoda by using his students interests, giving positive reinforcement, remains positive, and when he gets Groups attention with the frogs by showing him "there's a bigger picture. That picture has many frogs, but also potential beyond frogs." These scenes were handled very well

What I'm not a fan of is that in Legends, Luke understands the flaws of the Jedi Order and why it fell in the first place. If this was Legends Luke, he would allow Grogu and Mando to have a relationship while he trains as a Jedi. Him repeating the same mistakes of the past hurts

that scene was out of trance and emotion. remember, he fainted after lifting the huge creature. there was adrenaline. the same way a human being can actually lift more than twice its own body weight when adrenaline activates as an emergency measure. in this case, it was a practice of sensitivity. it was like using tweezers to capture a fly. they were practicing focus and control.
