I'm so surprised by all of the different hair textures, styles and colors. There is such a huge variety! I still think the cutest baby there is the little tiny one you received for your 20th year. It is just darling. Thanks for sharing!
There really is a lot of variety. It is hard to find ones with the traditional yarn in natural colors now. There were not many bald kids either which is very popular. My 20th year baby is my favorite too! She was not easy to get though.
@@bethbacarella I do plan to make a video about her. Time goes by so quickly and I get caught up in my other collections. I still have content from a year ago that I never got to share. It is so easy to get distracted with other things. She did take 20 years to get. Then with Covid, she took another 4 years. I should be just one year away from my 25th year pocket baby.
@@bethbacarella I wish that we could. OAA didn't hold any event or online events so even though the time passed, we were not able to register for those years so it will be another 5 years until we can get our 25th SE pocket babies. That means our 30 year ones are 10 years away!
Yes! Xavier surprised collectors and came to the event. He took pictures with every collector that wanted to take one with him. He was at my first Spring Event back in 2001 and has been to about 6 of them since. I need to collect all of my photos with him over the years. He is very nice!
@@sew4dolls I got to meet him once...a long time ago at an event in Calif. He was so nice. He came to all our tables and talked to us and then we could go have our picture taken with him, too.
@@lanisioux2644 That is awesome! Was this event held at Hobby City? I have heard that he went to an event there. Maybe a few events. I would have loved to have been able to go to that store earlier. I found out about it in the early 90s. I was sad when it closed down.
@@sew4dolls No, it was an event south of there...I don't recall what town it was, but Bucky was the event baby. I'm from Iowa, so was excited to include it on a trip out to Calif. I was at Hobby City two or three times. I think I posted some pix in SFP.
@@lanisioux2644 Thanks for sharing. I think that was before I was an adult collector and could take myself to anything like that. I heard there was a California CPK club, but I didn't know about it in time to join. I am from Northern California. I might have seen your photos at SFP. I am not sure. I have seen someone's photos. I don't think that I have shared mine there.
That looks like a blast! What beautiful dolls! I love babyland general hospital so much I have been six times and would love to go again. Do you know if they're having another event? I would love to go!
It was a really fun event. It was my 20th Spring Event. I waited 4 years for this one to happen because of covid. We are all hoping that there will be another. We usually get a save the date at the event, but there was nothing said. Hopefully, something is announced soon. They used to have an event in the fall and right before Christmas, too. None of those have returned since covid. Collectors still get together at those times though without any event, but we love the events!
