Great reaction. The two dancers who performed the fight choreo were the dancers who had supported Su and Moa on the 2018 tour (and they were wearing the 2018 tour Dark Side costumes here as well). Sorry, their names completely escape me for the moment, but the fans affectionately named them 'Muscle Metal' They came back specially for these shows at the Budokan in Tokyo in 2021.

Love your excitement with this song, and yeah relating this with Naruto is very common but it got nothing to do with Naruto, love the series too thou. She performed this same song live at Budokan 2014 when having only 16 yo, and you can clearly noticed the difference between teenage SuMetal vs. grown up vocals and technique in this version, highly suggest you to check it out in your own time. Akatsuki was one of the highlights at Budokan 2021 when celebrating their 10 Years, of course this SuMetal performance is one of those beautiful and powerful solo she had back then. The fight choreography is another tribute to early performance either when SuMetal was fighting against her doppelganger at one of the Legend "IDZ" in 2012/2013, or later in 2018 when the muscle-metal did the fight between them at Dark Night Carnival concert. When the music stop and switch to the ballad piano version is a tribute to Legend 1997 held in 2013 when performing Akatsuki Unfinished Version, that version will definitely make you get some tissues.😭 Pretty much is a power/metal ballad song about fighting for her love just like you saw in the lyrics. The crowd unfortunately was a prerecorded sound because this was made during pandemic situation and no one was allowed to shout or doing mosh pit, also the capacity was cut to half, everyone had a great time thou. This song is a tribute to another mythical visual-key Japanese band called X-Japan - Kurenai (i recommend you that song), and one of the founder member, Yoshiki, got also another tribute with the song Headbanger!! Since next July 4th is coming MoaMetal's birthday i shall suggest you these to honor her special b'day: - Love Machine live at Legend 1999 (2013). - MoaBanger live at Legend M (2019), which is Headbanger!! with MoaMetal singing the second part. - Onedari Daisakusen live at Budokan 2021, MoaMetal solo performance. - GJ! live at Budokan 2021, another MoaMetal solo performance. Amazing, Su’s performance and vocals has made me tear up a few times. Only other time that’s happened to me (outside of laughter) in the last decade was the death of a family member, so yeah…her vocals are absolutely amazing and powerful. Also, at the video’s end, those 3 pop-up recommendations are the other 3 Su-metal solos, which you’ll need to do as well! Especially Amore, very much in the same vein as Akatsuki! 🤘🦊

My most favorite song from Babymetal is the rendition of “No rain, No rainbow” in Hiroshima from the legend - S - Baptism XX in 2017 . SueMetal is from Hiroshima and she is almost in tears at the end of that balad rendition. Better than all the other version because of her emotion state in that particular song, location and time.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this very performance at Budokan 😍. On Feb.19, 2021. Akatsuki became a very special song for BABYMETAL fans again. This song had not been performed for 2 years and 4 months, but they revived it that day. After an exciting battle choreo by the two dancers aka "Muscle Sisters" and a subsequent totally silent interval, Su-Metal showed up like a goddess standing solely in the center of foggy lake. It was divine beauty. Honestly I can not remember clearly what I saw and what I heard because it was too surprising and too mesmerizing. (Even after I viewed Blu-ray videos released thereafter) There is one certain thing, however. I felt celestial bliss there, especially by Su's matured rich voice.

On the track listing they replaced the character for "aka" with "kurenai" (紅), a deep red or crimson, as a tribute to the X-Japan song with that title. There are X-Japan references throughout a lot of BABYMETAL lyrics, choreography and staging. They were a big influence on the group. 'Akatsuki' was Su's first solo song. It was originally released as a backing track on the 'Megitsune' single in 2013.

Great reaction. I have an internal conflict with this performance and the Budokan performance in 2014. In this one, Su's voice and facial expressions are better, but in the 2014 one the scenery and the guitar solo part in my opinion are much better than the fight scene in this version. Akatsuki always rates very highly in fan favourite polls; it usually competes with Megitsune for the number one position. All of Su's solo songs are great and they are pretty much all ballads, which is fairly unusual for Babymetal songs.

This performance was during the Avengers era (no Yui) just Su & Moa, they had Avengers filling in and dancers to fill the void. Did you notice the moon was showing on the stage floor below her? Several versions of this song, Check them all out, unfinished will make you cry even more. 2016 at Budokan (I think) is also great.

I guess it’s a way to include the dancers they had after Yui left and before the avenger era as a farewell. But for me the fighting scene makes fits well. I always understood the song about a toxic relationship (the two damaged blades) leading to one person dead and killed by their big love.
This version is so insane though. The pause, the slow piano part and the subsequent speedup really elevate the song to another level. I can't go back to the older versions anymore.
