Good reaction again ... this was the song Su performed immediately before giving up her life and being crucified in 'BABYMETAL Death'. I had to laugh at your thoughts on the neck brace and health & safety gone mad. It really does look like that if you don't know what is happening or the significance of the neck brace in their lore. I think you would enjoy the "full" version of 'Akatsuki' now - same lyrics (except there is an extra line at the end that she didn't sing in this one - possibly one of the reasons this is called 'unfinished'), same melody ... and yet a completely different feel, they may as well be two completely separate and almost unrelated songs. The Budokan, Black Night performance of the full version is a good one.

Yeah the last song is super fun and heavy, full explosive, but remember the song isn't called "death" is called "Babymetal Death" altogether. 🦊🤘 This one is a beautiful piano ballad version from our queen SuMetal, if you want to hear the original with the blaster sound of the Kami Band behind go for live at Budokan 2014 . See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Lots of metal singers have got range and power (Tarja or Floor), but Su's one of the few singers I know that can be that expressive of emotions in her singing. From her facial expressions, the pained smile, to how she's singing with slight hesitation like she's choked up with emotion.... She's not just a vocalist.... That's one of the many reasons I like her, she doesn't just sing a song, she performs it... From facial expressions, to her own interpretive dance moves, its a whole package.... If a western pop singer sings a sad ballad, they might just lower their eyes a bit, a slight frown... When Su does it (like in Akatsuki Unfinished or No Rain No Rainbow), you can hear the cracking of her voice, the slight choking back a sob, the sad tearful expression... Better than some hollywood actresses. 🤘🦊🤘

⚡ / 🔴 🌙 The heavier version of 'Akatsuki' had already been performed many times before they did this "Unfinished version" for Su's 16th birthday at the 'Legend 1997' concert. That's the only time this version was performed live. Interestingly, the "Unfinished version" omits the last two lines of the song, "Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!". I think that Su's acting talents are severely underrated. She has mentioned in interviews that she will often select a specific part of a song for special emotional emphasis. In this case, it looks like she decided to apply that to the whole damn song.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I teared up when I listened to this song for the first time and still do. I had never imagined that I would be taught by a 16-year-old girl (as of Dec. 2013) a sorrow or heartbreaking emotion which is occasionally incidental to love or loss of it. Our souls are cleansed or purified by Su's voice. I witnessed Akatsuki performed live on Feb.19 at Budokan last year with Su's matured rich voice. It was partially unfinished version. I can't explain how beautiful it was with my vocabulary.

For Su-metal, the word "beautiful" doesn't just describe her looks, but also her voice, her singing, and the emotions she conveys.

Japanese is a very beautiful language whether you understand what's being sung or not. A lot of it is in the delivery and Su knows how to deliver.

Su is spectacular. Her voice is obviously fantastic but it’s her performance that makes it so special. I don’t always know what shes saying but I always know exactly what she means. This song in particular gets me every time. Beautiful.

This is beautifully sung, but then Su always sings beautifully! There's a later version of this from the Black Night concert ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g2372C5PJLM.html ), with full Kami Band backing and a guitar duet too! Very different to this but both are excellent performances. At 3:53, Su sings of the red thread binding her and another together. In later performances, she holds up the little finger/pinky of one hand as she sings this line and it signifies the belief amongst many Japanese that human relations are predestined by a red string that the gods tie to the little/pinky fingers of those who find each other in life. Legend has it that the two people connected by this thread will have an important story, regardless of the time, place or circumstances. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

The neckbrace in BABYMETAL DEATH is a call back to Headbanger!! (in the official video you see Su don the neckbrace).. and the neckbrace in Headbanger is a callback to the band X Japan. Yoshiki their drummer would often wear a neck brace while playing on stage.. as he sort of broke his neck head banging lol

Nice reaction, thanks! Su-metal is able to convey the emotions like no one else. No other singer causes the impact her voice causes on me... and I cannot help it. That, her control of the stage and her versatility as a singer are probably her stronger points.

Thanks for your reaction. This little lady really knows how to put emotion in her performance. I think I can even get into her performance better without focusing on the lyrics. She ones said: No thinking, just feel it ! 🙂 Definitely would recommend the Akatsuki at Budokan as was recommended by others.

Greetings! I recommend making a reaction to Diana Ankudinova (19), one of the best vocalists in the world, who has a unique voice - a dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones. Many RU-vidrs have made more than 12 thousand reactions to Diana over the past couple of years. RU-vidrs especially liked Diana's performances on TV shows - 'You are Super' and 'ShowMASKgoOn'. - Can't Help Falling in Love, Crow, Personal Jesus, Wicked Game, Human. I was happy to see your reaction to Diana!
