If you look at just the lyrics, this is supposed to be a happy and uplifting song. No matter how dark the times are right now, the sky will be illuminated by a rainbow of colors tomorrow. Just smile.

As SU-METAL was born in Hiroshima, some people interpret the song as a song about the sadness of the atomic bombing. In the world, wars and conflicts are still going on. For the people in those countries and regions, the sad events that happen before their eyes will be no different from Ragnarok, Armageddon... the end of the world.
Su-metal actually said the song is an uplifting light song. She doesn't reference the lyrics to her home town. It was only the audience reaction to the lyric video that made her realize how people are interpreting it, hence the rendition we get here that is full of emotion. That's why in the original Monochrome studio recording lacks emotion as she had looked at the song in a different way. If you only look at the lyrics and not reference the lyric video, it's actually an uplifting song about capturing the precious moments of the present before they are gone tomorrow. And no matter how dark the times it is now, there will be a rainbow tomorrow.
@@Codametal Of course, she did not write the lyrics, so it would not be her own experience. The person who wrote the lyrics did not know what she wanted to portray. There are many possible interpretations. When I first heard the song, I interpreted it as a song about the despair of lost love.

But I disagree with your assertion that the studio version lacks emotion. Also, if you only look at the lyrics, the song does have a significant melancholy element with the references to Ragnarok, freezing rain, and whatnot. Su conveyed that emotionally even in the studio version. But the driving message of the song is indeed an uplifting one of hope and together making the world a better place.
