Hey guys, this one was requested about a month ago and I finally was able to make some time to check it out. And it was an actual kawaii overload haha. Let me know what you think and what else I should check out. Thinking it may be time to start checking out more stuff from their latest album. After this one I'll have Awadama Fever coming next.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🕛 That's also my favorite part of 'Uki Uki ★ Midnight'; where Yui and Moa fly around Su like little fairies while she's dreaming. One of their most underrated songs. And some of the best audience call and response: "You and me! Uki Uki Midnight! Closing time, No way! Kinkirariiiiinnnnn! (Glittering bright!)" 'Uki Uki ★ Midnight' and 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' are kind of like sisters. Both are stylized with a star in the song title. They're both "slice of life"; one daytime and one nighttime. When Moa was in Sakura Gakuin, she helped create the unofficial "Koyaji Club". "ko"= young/little. "oyaji" = old man. The idea of this club was to enjoy "old man snacks" like squid. They replaced the saki with ginger ale though. : )

So great! UUM is just one of those fun early songs that captured the kid oriented themes that were part of the first album, and this video is great with all the off-stage footage spliced in. That place was small, like 150 people max, but is a historic location that many Japanese rock bands got their start in. There is a great interview/documentary video where the girls re-visit the location and talk a little bit about that show, plus it includes an interview with a legendary metal guitarist from the band Megadeth, Marty Friedman.

Oh! the follow up song to Doki Doki Morning, mecha kawaii UwU That "small" stage is the Rock-May Kan where they started their first concert outside Sakura Gakuin, such a legendary venue to start, they won't forget how exhausted they were after finished the show. I like the lyrics referring to MoaMetal snack tastes just like old man tastes :P So you already watched SG Sun episodes already? That's sad, i would love to watch your reaction to that. Hopefully Nendo Tests and Graduation for next time.

I think the legend goes, that the girls were pooling their snacks together on the bed and Moa dumped out some dried squid tentacles so Su and Yui started laughing and poking fun at Moa saying she ate like a middle-aged man. Super cute, super fun but still a banger.

Kobametal loves the symbolism. I've noticed that venues in other countries where Babymetal plays are venues where for example X-Japan or Judas Priest has also performed.

Nice reaction, thanks! I agree, Yui and Moa dancing around Su like fairies is the pinnacle of the kawaiiness :) Love that insight about Moa and the dried squid arms. They have said in different occasions that Moa has different faces and one of them is that she has the likes of a middle-aged man LoL

Wow.... Getting into the Sakura Gakuin SUN shows.... Now I can't wait till you get to the Nendo Tests and the Pranks.... SG has some great songs too like "Friends", "Song for Smiling", "Mezase! Super Lady 2012" etc.... Prepare to have a box of tissues handy too, because vids like the accoustic version of Friends sung by the 4 class seniors to the rest of the class, and Su's graduation will bring tears. 🤘🦊🤘🌸🌸🌸🌸

I love Uki Uki Midnight and I spotted something new this time, Su with pigtails at 1:26! The song flows well and has several interesting elements, but for some reason it's not getting as much attention as Gimme Chocolate and Doki Doki Morning. I love them all and don't want to pick favorites, but perhaps I put it a notch above the other two. I just saw KuroKiitsuneSama has a compilation of Uki Uki Midnight performances from as late as 2015. I had no idea they played it that many times and wow does it sound good with live vocals from Moa and Yui. I'm on a journey through your BABYMETAL playlist along with your Sakura Gakuin reactions. Thanks again!

I heard that the girls' activities will soon be suspended. They have been working hard since they were little. If the original three are still good friends, I imagine that during this break, a small rally according to these lyrics will be held in one of the their rooms.

Hey, Gombers. I know you and others in the comments think Yui and Moa fluttering around Su here are reaching to the pinnacle of Kawaii. But I will put up Yui and Moa during the making of the Flet's Wi-Fi commercials as that peak Kawaii-i-i! Beyond adorable.

I noticed there are a couple of frames where they write on a blackboard (at 2:38 in your video) which got me curious as to what they were writing. I see きつねだお (kitsunedao), which they also happen to say in "iine" right before the heavy breakdown begins and I believe it translates to "it's a fox". I can also see べびーめたる (bebimetaru), which is how they say BABYMETAL,

Great reaction again. 'Uki Uki Midnight' seems to be overlooked and it is a great fun song. Rock May Kan (Corset Festival - corset being neck brace, I think they had just released 'Headbanger' so a promotional copy came with a neck brace and everybody in the audience had to be wearing one to get in) was their very first solo show, although they were still a Sakura Gakuin sub-unit. It has a great tradition for being the starting point for many Japanese rock groups (X Japan played their first gig there) and it isn't surprising the stage is so small - the capacity is only about 150. BABYMETAL did a special show at Rock May Kan towards the end of last year as part of their 10 year celebration and I think they donated all the proceeds from the virtual ticket sales to Rock May Kan which has suffered over the last 18 months for obvious reasons.

This actually a promotional video of BabyMetal first headlining show/concert and they purposely held it in this location as a homage to X-Japan who used to play here back in the day and aspirations to become just as successful. In this event is also where they debut their single Headbanger.

GOOD QUALITY DRIED SQUID TASTES FRESH AND NOT SMELLY. CUT INTO THICK SHOE STRING SIZE, IT EATS LIKE SQUID JERKY. IF YOU LIKE FRIED CALIMARI YOU MIGHT LIKE DRIED SQUID.
