This Dance performarce is on point. All girls are are amazing but Chiquita (my bias) stands out, her dancing and facial expressions. She may be the top dancer. There's something about all of them. Even though they're just now debuting, they each already have their well established persona. Rami, Pharita and Rora are hella stunning. Especially Rora. She's hypnotic.
Finally some fresh and good opinion. Toxic fans are so annoying. They killed the debut. Song is awesome, catchy and ITS JUST FIRST AND ONE SONG, chill out people and have patience. So what that it’s similar formula as BP? We all know that BP is WORLD FAMOUS becouse of this formula. So YG knows that same will happen with BM. Of course they will experiment with another style too. Just wait and don’t cry about it. Geez.
There's always people who will compare and say stuff about they are not going to reach stardom. Like they said about other groups. That's what grind my gears, don't like the song, don't listen. I think they won't be surprised. Because they know the abilities of BM members as well as we do. That group of people came to attack BM by deliberately creating a negative trend because BM is a threat to them. They were the disciples of other GG groups that already existed.

Music is subjective, right? I happen to like some music in all genres but it depends on the song. And of course, there are those whose taste is only in their mouths. lol jk. Everyone is entitled to like or dislike this song. I think what some are really overly hung up on is the fact that this sounds similar to Blackpink and Blackpink's sound, which is actually YG's sound, has been hitting us hard for 7 years as they were a global phenomenon. So naturally, when we here this song, Blackpink comes to our minds. Heck I had a "Jisoo moment the first time Rora sang the pre-chorus. The result of this is being labeled carbon copy, copy and paste, etc. The reality is these young ladies are, in my opinion better vocalists and dancers than their unnies, and I'm a huge fan of Blackpink. To clarify, I'm not saying Blackpink isn't talented, they are very talented but their popularity slightly outweighs their talent. they are likeable, charming, charismatic. I heard Jennie compliment one of the BM trainees (I think it was Pharita) in Ep1 of Last Evaluation saying "she reminds me of Rose'"" and later saying, "for the four of us it wasn't about being the best singers and dancers but we all thought if not this I'm gonna die". My question to those nay-sayers is, if you like Blackpink music, why wouldn't you like an improved version of them, AKA Babymonster? Everyone needs to give Baemon time to establish their own identity which will be challenging given the YG roots and musical formula. Sorry this is so lengthy on your platform. Batter Up broke the most viewed record in 24 hours for a kpop debut song ever. Also they Smashed the record for the Fastest 50 million and also the Fastest 60 million ever for a kpop debut song. As far as history shows, they are the best debut. Best ever. That is a fact.
The reason why some do not like it is the exact same reason why others do. It is YG coded. I personally like YG's releases. Have they ever released a flop? No. They say empty chorus, wth, listen to Bigbang's and 2ne1's hits, even BP's, it is not like they were talking deep deep on their choruses for some of their bops. Music is meant to be enjoyed, it is not that deep. There are songs for that. I vibe with this, i enjoy listening to it and dancing along with it a lot, living in my head rent free for a week now. Chiquita is really something else huh? Also, I think it's Silvergun for the choreo.
I found the song has grown on me a lot! And I personally have been listening to it regularly. Great debut. Vocally they’re superb! Love the hip hop element to their sound too, like with most YG artists.
Everyone become a music expert when it comes to YG artist new music. But I can't blame them either because YG set the expectation so high and they always produce a good music. In the end of the day let's just enjoy the music and remember me sting like a bee🤙🏻👶🏻😈😭🤣
I will always support the girls. The talent they have is ridiculous. Personally I hope YG will let the girls develop their own sound and style instead of boxing them in the YG factory. I like the song, but it seemed like a safe song targeted for YG stans. The timing for everything with this debut seems like a mishandle. They made announcements then put the girls through a reality competition that ended up not even mattering..then the delays and member leaving rumors…then finally debuting and not promoting it. I wonder what the perception of this would be if this was a small company without the built in fan base. But positives…the girls kill this performance. They have the “it” factor that will take them far. They are so versatile and I can’t wait to see what is next for them.

sometimes people treat K-Pop as if it was a global political confect, like some release will lead to WW3 🤣. For real, just listen, enjoy, appreciate the talent or don't. It's not complicated. I like BM. They are cute and so talented and they are still growing into there final form. It will be a great journey to follow and a great start IMO. If you don't agree, it's fine. We can't all like the same. That's what makes the world more interesting. Just don't present your hate as fact :)
Man I totally agree with your thoughts on the song and the "controversial" opinions. I think people sometimes expect too much from a new, young group. But the hate has been over the top dumb! Some of the same things were being said about Blackpink in the beginning. I'm sure I don't care for some artists/songs that these people do. Give them a break and lets see how they do with future works.

BlackPink popular Kpop to the global. Step 3. where BlackPink now left of and handed to Baby Monster take over the global. The same with BM. BM is true global group because just like BP. Thing for me is this is a Debut so they had just over 3 mins to show off 6 members. This is not enough to demonstrate their full abilities, its too short. Judge them when they are about 3 or 4 songs in. IMO each member did great in their alotted time. I liked how you said your bias was Haram and Rora but you mentioned Asa alotted. It shows that yo are not biased when it comes to appreciating others abilities :)
Thats actually true the same happened to BP when they came out the deference is that they debut before the year ends and BM have a very bad debut month and next promotions cuz all of the things that can help them more is no longer open until next year.
Is BM like GG in other Kpop groups? Does it matter? Haters like to compare BM to other GG's, I don't understand why they do that. One thing had less talking via reactions or reviews was that the vocal of Batter Up song are so much clean. I thought the autotune was applied the less in recording and arrangement. These girls have enough show case their abilities of sing, rap, dance, and presense in their debut song.❤

I like to use an iconic Jisoo quote: "Not bad, but not good." It's hardly the worst song ever, I just found it kind of disappointing (guess I need to manage those expectations better). They're doing their best with it, though. A for effort. The rap section makes the entire song. I'll say this about Chiquita. Every time she shows a smile for just a moment, the whole screen lights up. She's going to be a major star.
