When you ask for a blend of retro/disco/hip hop, I guess this is what you get! And so that was a really nice surprise, quite unexpected I have to admit! That said, it is definitely not the first time that YG dabbles in retro sounds, but still I don't think I was imaging BAEMON to tackle such genre so quickly. They killed the raps, once again! Hate it or not, their rappers are gold! The vocals, as always, magical and I love the ad libs here! This got me thinking of a world cup song almost, but I think it's because of the more disco/retro approach of the song. I would say this is more of a grower than an instant hit for me though. The MV, I wished they pushed the whole 'Cinderella' concept a bit further because I'm a sucker for fairy tale retelling! But other than that, it was a really nice and enjoyable comeback, one that I think could potentially please a broader audience than their past two title tracks.

For me this is there best song yet!? Like BABYMONSTER didn't come to play with this song I like how they showcase all there skills from dance (chiquita solo dance break iconic btw), vocal (the high notes adlibs like chefs kiss) rap (as always j-line never disappoints plus ahyeon) and also the visuals (btw they look expensive here). It's great to see how YG expanding there sound which is for me really effective to see how these girls are versatile with any concept. The fact that these song last 3 minutes long is perfect like it's rare to see this type of duration in a kpop song especially in this generation. Also these song feels nostalgic yet has freshness to it which reminds me a lot of 2nd gen kpop era. Overall, this song is amazing manifesting we will get another banger like this in the future because for me it suits them a lot than SHEESH. Btw love your reaction always coco🤗❤

They were actually really diving into the "Cinderella" concept. If you can see it in the music video in the bridge after rora sang, the part where they pan to pharita in the car up the sky, you can see the time on the Big Ben it's at 11:59ish or 12:00 and then at the end of the music video they wake up and then the shoes were there in the bed with them. Which probably means that, it was not a dream, everything really happened last night. Just like cinderella, she can only go out and enjoy herself at night. That's why they were shooting it at night.

It is not the type of song that attracts you from the first listen, but it grows in your mind without you knowing until you become addicted to it. I think it is a very nice summer song. I loved the rap clips very much and the chorus is something addictive. The girls’ voices are amazing.

For me it's the opposite, Batter Up and Sheesh were the one's that I was not attracted to from the first listen since those were too common, especially for a YG release, but this, I loved this at the first listen because it gave 2nd gen vibe so much that is far different from their first two release.

YES!!! many kpop stans know the YG signature sound/pattern but true YG followers know they are more than that, like the ballad side of YG. Aside from BUT YOU (iKON) I also think I LOVE YOU (Winner) and HELLO (TREASURE) explores the disco sound so well but at the same time you cannot put those side by side along with FOREVER and say they are the same song cause each gives a different vibe. I was also surprised about this release but I am loving it!

I'm ready glad that this Babymonster concepts' really different and no plain chorus like usually YG songs this before. It doesn't mean I didn't like from YG songs, but the song arrangements kinda mid that I'm kinda bored and really gonna know what would be happen. (Although it's become catchy song and I like that for many times XD) But, this MV, this song really outstanding me especially rap part. It's really 🔥 BANGER 🔥 . My interpretation is they feel like they are just dreaming this famous and glamorous life so they told themselves don't get too excited and think it's theirs. Ruka whispered to Ahyeon she was born like this (to be famous). At the end the invitations were delivered to them and it may not be a dream for them after all. My short and hopefully understandable explanation. 😊

So in Batter up and Sheesh they are the baby monsters that are new to town or school "tell your friends", then everyone is aware of them now but it felt like a dream. Then FOREVER MV is like they were in vacation (hotel transylvania in cruise vibe) and they still think that everything is like a dream but this time they will make it reality and stay forever. And the cindrella concept is them living a human kind of life when in reality they are babymonsters and they will stay true to themselves because the shoe only fits to them.

This song is like IVE”s “After Like” and “I Am” had a baby that raps with the speed of RM. Even the Ahyeon rap part sounds like Rei, and the fist pounding choreo reminded me of “I Am’s” dance. Amazing summer choon. I love the 80s vibes of “Forever Young” in it, too.
