10000% agree. I'll add Asa too. The fast rap is something TOP, MINO , Haruto, YOSHI and BOBBY are known for. She brings new vibe and flow with her too. Gd, Teddy, jinu, lydia Paek, mino, Bobby, jennie, hoony, lisa hanbin , huynsuk and Ruka cary the YG dna to the max.

Batter Up is a baseball term, I think it is used when calling batter from the deck to the plate and get ready to bat the ball (batter is the one who try to hit the ball, the pitcher is the one who throw the ball).

I actually feel sorry for her I think some jealous classmates sobatge her debut bcs when she gain fame her video sayuming d word resurface and I feel that there more of that kind of incident that we did not know about. YG is very strict if you hide something and they found out its not good but still being positive for her to join.

@maemae4602 I doubt it. I think its similar to Yedam's situation she probably wants to go solo, or changed her mind about being in the group. It's definitely not health issues cos YG uses that as an cover up and it's definitely not scandal, cos YG don't care about those things. YG would never let her go if he could, it must be her own personal life issue. Nearly every YG artist has done CA and blackpink jennie, gdragon also said n word but YG don't care about those things

Just to clarify, the producers are listed as YG, DEE.P, Chaz Mishan. Song written by Asa (2nd rapper in the song), Chaz Mishan, DEE.P, Jared Lee, WHERE THE NOISE, YG, Bigtone, and 2 others whose names are in Korean. Teddy is Blackpink's producer and had no involvement with this song. However, this has YG written all over it.

I believe they were doing shout outs to BP, they had " Square Up " in the lyrics, Asa wore black/pink outfit in her rap and ended it with Bbrrr like Lisa in Boombayah. I'm sure there were others too throughout the video. I thought the "pass the baton" in the lyrics also had meaning. Plus the song title " Batter Up " meaning, it's their turn at bat ! Swing away !

Tbh I was slightly disappointed with the song because YG had the hugest chance ever to SWITCH UP THE SOUND for BABYMONSTER coming into 5th gen kpop (esp w the HYPE he has successfully built for them) and threw a huge curve ball at us. This sounds just like another 2NE1 song while giving the vibe of TREASURE. Ppl keep saying it sounds like a BLACKPINK song but it really doesn't. I hear more 2ne1 and TREASURE especially the ending of this song. YG needs to get rid of his sound for a few eras cus we tireddd... Asa carried tho
