To answer your semi question. YG evaluates on different aspects. That's why their training period is longer than your average kpop idol. Its 4-6 years. Based on my experience with YG for 16 years I get what they look for. Talent, hidden talent, dedication, improvement, uniqueness, likability. I think you seen haram audition. YHS wouldve ate ger UP if he didn't see something in her. Treasure jihoon was send away in 2017 and brought back in 2018 for YGTB. YG evaluated his performance and secured to bring him back. Until then... that was u heard off. Yhs might be cold somtimes but that's a fraction of what the the trainees will face in the entertainment. If YG doesn't see what he is looking for... he wouldn't waste their time training for unreachable goal in YG.
