...not to mention these are recorders. Sopranos just have holes. Fancy levers and pads are only on larger recorders. Mastery of the fingering for semitones and large intervals, etc. are not to be ignored. Amazing. Really lovely arrangement and video production. Excellent work.
@@katrinat.3032What do you mean, except? Is he not an accomplished player? Did you think you were the first to notice that this is one guy doing all the voices? I don't get your comment.
The heavenly music of Bach. He had to have a direct line with God! There's just no other explanation! Wonderful sir! Such extraordinary work in putting this together! I'm sharing it with all of my students.
@@sergiuarapan5023 and to think…he was known as an organist and not a composer of note in his day! I’m so happy his body of work was uncovered so that we can marvel at his genius today ❤️
Bach must love you! He is in Heaven, I am sure , and is listening with joy. These are amazing-so precise and perfect, and your tones glide together perfectly.
...and you inspired me, that there must be beer in heaven as well: Porter Schwarzbier (Lausitzer Brewery), Köstritzer Schwarzbier... Something like that, close to his origins... so from Thuringia, Sachsen-Anhalt, Köthen, Berlin, Lausitz... East Germany around Leipzig... AND maybe this literature: ''A passionate Life''... by Sir Elliot Gardiner: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ZVn9NZqyxs.html&pp=ygUlU2lyIGVsbGlvdCBnYXJkaW5lciBhIHBhc3Npb25hdGUgbGlmZQ%3D%3D If you ask me: switch off any telephones e.g... It will make your day 🌹
Absolutely beautiful. I think some people don't realize what an incredible instrument the recorder is. A lot of times people's only exposure to the recorder is the plastic ones they played in grammar school music class.
Every superlative congratulations are already in the comments, and justified by this AMAZING performance and recording work. Let's just say BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Absolutely beautiful. Bach is elevating to the spirit, and you captured it perfectly. But where did you find so many great players that look exactly like you?
I love to put my headphones on and push the volume past the "warning high volume levels" nonsense for these special, sonically and spiritually delicious performances. (My rare and weird yet heartfelt nod to u, James!) BarROCK on, Maestro. 🎧 😎💖
Every cover is yours is amazing! Years of great videos to watch and music to listen to! You have a real genius for Bach, transcription, playing (a variety of instruments 🪈🎹), and video editing!-You capture the fugue very well in sound and sight. I love your passion and the life you put into the music. Bravo! Bravissimo! Bis! Encore! And to many more!
Deixem-me sonhar: Se o divino Bacho pudesse ver este video .
Now I know why I love your playing so much! You’re an organist too! I was going to say that this interpretation reminded me of the organ sound world -love this even more now!
Stunning for sure! I’ve listened a hundred times at least, sometimes 5 times in succession. It’s simply addictive. Bach would have loved this. What joy and what energy blessed with profound peace holding it all together!
This is such a crazy astonishing result. Rarely heard a version that is so expressive and so close to my imagination how Bach could have thought the polyphony. Hope to hear Many new recordings. All the best from Germany
This is absolutely amazing. Very cleverly done, recording all these parts separately and then putting them together. Thank you. I enjoying both watching and listening to this performance.
This is certainly one of the best recordings of BWV 29 ever made. There are many that are great, but this is beyond words. May you live forever, O king! I often think of Bach’s title for it while listening and this recording simply sings it out loud!!! The Town Council must have been amazed to hear the whole cantata. Have you considered arranging the rest of the cantata in similar fashion?
If Johann had heard this version…..imagine all the compositions he would be jotting down! Fantastic version and from a recorder player myself…..I’m astonished by how well done this is.
Did you play all those parts without music ???? That has been one of my favorite pieces of Bach since I first heard Wendy Carlos' version of it, back when I was a young teenager (over fifty years ago). It STILL gives me happy chills :-)
Marvellous. I am in awe at the effort you must have put in to this wonderful performance and recording and finally editing of the work. Just one cheeky question. Is that a massive Bass Recorder you have in your hands or were you just happy to see me?
