Roberto Bertero at the organ of Turin’s Santuario della Consolata (Church of the Virgin of the Consolation).
This video is featuring the first movement “Allegro” of the Concerto in A minor BWV 593, transcription made by J.S. Bach of the Concerto previously composed by Antonio Vivaldi Op.3 n°8 belonging to the collection “L’estro armonico”.
It's a work full of effervescence, characteristic ideas that give the hallmark of symmetry, regularity, well-calibrated sound levels to all Baroque music.
The richness of inspiration, the ferment of rhythms and the play of echoes gives this entire first movement a typically Vivaldian agility and clarity.
This is evidence of how transcription was common during the Baroque period and how great musicians, such as J.S. Bach, did not hesitate to resort to this practice to learn and assimilate the works of other famous artists.
Welcome to this RU-vid channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
