This is absolute favorite version of 'American Woman'. Since I first heard it on radio I've been searching for it on the internet so I can listen to it on demand instead of just waiting for Q107 to play it :-)
This version is on the Bachman-Cummings live DVD, FIRST TIME AROUND. This version was sent to many classic rock radio stations in Canada. A version (recorded in 2007) is on their CD called JUKEBOX. Get it. It's a fantastic album.
Ltblac It is indeed very good, but not really a cover, since Bachman and Cummings (along with Kale and Peterson) wrote and recorded the original version in 1970. This is just a different version by the original artists.

It was funny on American Idol this year ( 2014) when the judges talked about this song being about a " woman"...obviously they missed something in translation.

Um, cover? You do realize this is their song and was originally done by The Guess Who, and the singer was the lead singer/songwriter and the guitarist was the lead guitarist/songwriter? (Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, respectively)

BTO played at the CFL's Grey Cup this year. The upstart United Football League had George Clinton at it's halftime show. But. the Super Bowl (which got ridiculed for having The Who last year). Will have...the Black Eyed Peas. Looks like I won't be watching the SB halftime show this year.

p.s. The R&R HOF is what it is. Those who are not in it are "passed over," NOT because America has "no music taste..." but simply because it is the most biased, bogus and convoluted popularity (???) contest ever devised ... so that producers can pat themselves on the back for their (so-called) choices. It has little to do with talent and/or accomplishment in music, even though many many talented musicians have been inducted. That said, REAL music lovers ignore it. I know I do.
