'76 cute guy says wanna drive my car? Hell yeah! BTO in the 8-track! No stick thank God! We took off into the weekend, just glorious! 64 now I see it all!
I don’t understand why BTO and The Guess Who are not in the Hall of Fame. Two great bands with one common denominator, Randy Bachman. I could listen to these bands all day long!
Surprisingly, the only thing missing from his consummate drumming skills was smoke and fire peeling off of them drumsticks! One of the tightest drummers I ever heard
In memory of original drummer Rob Bachman who passed away a few days ago. He kept perfect rhythm and helped his favorite band rack up some serious hits: “Let It Ride”, “Roll On Down The Highway”, “Takin’ Care Of Business”, and “Hey You”. Bachman-Turner Overdrive was a happening band of rock.
Spring 1974, met a girl who became my wife a year later and listened to Bachman Turner Overdrive a lot. Still married to the same woman and listening to BTO!
1974, ninth grade, my first boyfriend, Let it Ride was our song, BTO our band. Then, “He took my heart and he went away” moved away that summer. I’ll always cherish BTO and ninth grade!
@@julenepegher6999 Good memories are to be cherished, but never locked away. Pull them out when you hear a song that triggers them. I had a girlfriend when I was a freshman at college in 1965, she was still in high school. Her family moved away the next year, when ever I hear the song "Caroline No" by the Beach Boys I think of her.
@@kennethpeller7411 Burton has come to me especially after he did NO TIME with Ringo Starr! That was a cool line-up: Ringo, his son, Eagles bass player, Joe Walsh(somewhat sober), Nils Lofgren, Todd Rundgren and Dave Edmunds. He's got a pretty unique voice but always that "nose" in it, I love it!
"underrated" is probably the most overrated word here at YT, abloody kliché and rarely - if ever - is it true either. Randy Bachman is a respected name in this business, he's friends with more of them than you probably know, and he sure is older than most guitarists. Jeff Beck was born in 1944, whereas his friend and one time neighbour (in the early 60s) Eric Clapton was born the magic year 1945 (Neil Young, Bob Marley, John Fogerty and then some...). Randy was 80 last fall, and had surgery in 2006 that made him go from 380 pounds/171kg to 225lb/101 kg.
I am 70 and this really brings back the memories. It was my brothers favorite band. even though he is now gone, I can see him singing along with them.Brings tears to my eyes. Thank You for the great music BTO.
I just turned 60 today and this music brings me back to simpler times. My big brother turned me on to BTO and so much great music. God has blessed us with the blessing of music!!!
Such a great band...Blasting them out our car windows on our 8 tracks...They make me smile to think back on those days...We'll never be that free again...:(...
Let It Ride was one of BTO's signature songs. Damn good song men!!! It may have been a few years since we first heard this. BUT, this sounded rather GOOD to me. A reminder of a simpler time in my life.. The good old days!!! I had never seen the drum stick thing before.... Way cool!!
No fancy lights, slick outfits, or flashpots required. Just 4 guys who can play really well, put egos aside to be a BAND, and have fun playing together. This is real rock'n'rol! :-)
C'mon man, Robbie Bachman only played well enough for this stuff and BTO was the only gig he ever had. He never played in another band, never was asked to do session work.
I'm 62 and I will ALWAYS BE OLD SCHOOL and BTO will ALWAYS be one of my top favorite bands. Grand Funk Railroad is right along side of BTO and I saw both bands. Dam they were soooooo great!! I love CF Turners tough gravely voice!!!
Brings back a lot of memories, Roadrunners, Camaro's, GTO's put the pedal to the metal and slap another gear on the old 4speed! Yeah, I am old in my mid 60's but still listen to classic rock!
Fred Turner one of the best rock vocalists of all time, and Randy Bachman gotta be one of the best rock guitarists ever. Combined with Blair Thorton what a collection of world class talent
Now this is rock and roll and I like it. The Guess Who and BTO deserve to be in the RnR HOF! Randy Bachman played guitar on so many classic iconic hit songs and had so many great guitar riffs. American Woman and No Time are forever etched in my memory banks from childhood. Taking Care of Business, Hey,You, Let It Ride and You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet were big hits in the 70s.
I saw this tour in 88 or 89 in North Las Vegas. It was a country bar turned Rock Club. They TRUELY showed up with a dust covered Yellow rental truck. They were there own roadies and proceeded to ROCK the place's 100 people or so. One of my best live shows Ever!
Amen! I`m glad i was able to live in the best times ever known to mankind, to enjoy what others have yet to even experience, and with where this world is going, they will never know what it was like to be free and enjoy the freedoms to hear rock-n-roll this good.
TO DAMN MANY !! I was one of the FIRST in my state to have MANDATORY INSURANCE in order to keep my license !! Try to keep YOUR foot out of a 440 6pak Dodge with this playing !! LOL !!
@@arthilliker3721 been there done that ,LOL LOL tickets not so funny went to well you know ,but we well not talk about that oh hell LOL LOL ,peace out Brother with all my respect .
@@aurthurodonnell6707, the LAST ticket I got cost me 3 GRAND in order to stay out of JAIL !! VA Judge wanted to lock me up for 90 days !! That's when I said enough for me !! That was 11 years ago and I have not had a ticket since !! Yeah, I still get the "itch" every now and then but NOPE .... I just remember that last go round and I behave .... LOL !! Happy travels my friend and stay ticket free !!
Randy Bachman so underrated as guitarist and songwriter he wrote so many great songs while in The Guess Who him and Burton Cummings he moved on with Fred Turner and formed Bachman Turner Overdrive. The song that put them on the map was You ain’t seen nothing yet I was in Jr. High school I loved this band it’s amazing how good they sound here !! How this band isn’t in the RNRHOF is beyond me,there’s numerous bands who isn’t in the RNRHOF for what ever reason is beyond me !!
Listening to this classic rock 'n roll in November of 2021 ! Fred Turner was killer on vocals. And what a great sounding band all the way 'round. Man I miss those days of great music.
The first song I ever heard on a great stereo was Roll in Down the Highway off my buddies album Best of BTO. Before that I only heard music on clock radios and AM car radio. The sound just grabbed me, and to this day I still remember that feeling of nirvana. Thanks BTO.
Same for me.sitting in my older cousins house, at14. Had a little smoke and listened to BTO on a 35 watt pioneer amp and pioneer turntable. Best of times
Again, I am so glad I came of age in the 70s. The best kick ass rock ever, in my opinion. Imagine if you can, this use to be what MTV was. No BS reality, just kick ass videos.
You're right, sister. And look at MTV now, -Kenny Logging once said the music industry shifted to pumping out garbage, cheap fast and dirty in lieu of promoting quality , original ,and talented bands.
@@jeffreyfarnsworth6120 Universal you got that right now we listen to this garbage and rock and roll as we know it has died thank God for the guys that are still with it still. And still putting it out there on the Airways for us all this year brings back memories and makes me feel young again
I worked at a guitar store here in Seattle called Guitarville for a number of years in the 90s and Randy Bachman was somewhat of a regular. I remember any time we had a vintage Gretsch guitar, we made that first call to Randy to give him a shot at it and nine times out of 10 he'd buy the guitar. Super nice guy, really friendly really funny always had some great touring stories to tell!
Jeez this show rocked! That was a phenomenal performance by the boys! And th sound was properly mixed, I'm diggin it big time! Randy and Fred's voice were in great shape!
I seen BTO in 1976 with Heart and Head East opening...what a concert. I was 16. I had BTO's first 5 albums including Bachman Tuner Bachman Brave Belt. Still listen to it. Some of the greatest rock and roll ever recorded.
Fine job by everybody on this concert. Camera work is top-notch, the sound is flawless, and the band's performance is everything you could want in a rock concert. I didn't follow them closely in their heyday, but I had no idea how hard-hitting and tight they were. The inmates must have been blown away.
Loved this song when it first came out. Played in a cover band at the time and told the band we had to learn it asap. Great band great song.....R.I.P. Robbie.
Damn wore out three or four 8tracks bto's greatest hits in high school and then when I started driving trucks in 82 I wore out four or five cassettes. See you guys on the other side of the Hill!! It's been one hell of a ride!
Not even going to try and bore everyone with how great this music is...... either you like it or you don''t and thats fine. To each here own. But for me...... It doesn't get any better than this, Rock and roll at its best..... makes me feel good, just wants me to put the foot down ans drive and thats just fine with me...............BTO you are the What me feel great and at the end of the day isn't hat is all that matters???.................LUV ya !!!! xxxxxx
I grew up listening to BTO in the mid seventies as a kid because my older brothers were listening to this .Such memories Thats when rock n roll was at its peak, and rockstars actually played instruments, not like today,s boring stuff. It just isnt the same anymore, kind of sad
When you think about it, Randy Bachman was fortunate beyond belief to work with TWO stunning singers in his career. First Burton Cummings..then Fred Turner. How damn lucky could a rock guitarist be:)
What's even harder to believe is that too great bands Bachman Turner overdrive and The Guess Who aren't in the Hall of fame What the f***'s is up with that you wanna talk about total disrespect from the Hall unbelievable You got one hit wonder rap Groups in there and not Bachman Turner overdrive or The Guess Who Total bullshit
@@ronditchen6664 The Hall is a fucking joke. I cannot fathom what their criteria are for induction. Some of Rock's most popular and influential groups aren't in.... but 80s Rappers are? WTF is up with that? Ignore the R'N'R "Hall of Fame". Not worthy of recognition.
Back when music put you in a happy mood . Uplifting, feel good nothing can stop you .bring it on . I feel sorry for the generations that didn't have this in their life, Growing up
Actually, this concert was at the Saskatchewan Maximum Security Prison in Prince Albert Sask. Nobody there didn't hurt somebody bad. Some in that audience are probably still there. I directed this concert and it rained all day. They tried to get me to move indoors but I wanted the windows, walls and guard towers. So did the band! All the leads had to be dried so the inmates got their hair dryers out for us. Saved the show. more stories re: van halen, meat loaf, blind melon, triumph. Oopsnoroom.
BTO Should Already be in the Music Hall of Fame. Randy & Burton have the Greatest Minds in Music Cant get tired of hearing Them.T.Y For all the Great Music
