Two digital sound videos posted back to back, first running under Gaugemaster DS analogue control, second under digital control using my laptop and a SPROG - you get to hear the whistles.

Thanks Dylan for the compliment. Your scenery puts me to shame - your farm reminds me of the Yorkshire Dales, Regards Ray

Hi Ray, sorry its been awhile, i see you have an extended your layout to include a branch terminus station. analogue sounds great. all the best Tony

Good to hear from you - I am guessing all well. I need to study some more of your construction works as I have to make some station buildings. My wee branch terminus has been there from the very beginning - the tunnel (the hole through the wall) and the associated continuous run, has been ongoing for the last two months. I had recently modified my analogue control to connect some of the separate control panels to allow running under one controller. It then occurred to me that I could probably use the same supply to run the whole layout digitally - and I can.

We are all good. I dont you have to do many changes regarding the wiring on the layout, which is good. I have ben weathering some iron ore wagons this weekend. but not much in the way of building just yet. but that is about to change soon. Why not have a go scratch building. that way you can make the building that you want. i have just completed a pub a couple weeks back....so yes have a go....

@@TONYNORTHEASTERN Hello again Tony, the only new wiring was connecting up the separate control panels. The layout must have nearly 100 separate sections all wired for 'cab control' with a common return. This is not dissimilar to a digital powerbus and people connecting up nearly every rail. With my system every 'section' can be switched off enabling ananlogue engines to be sidelined without remvoing them from the track.

Dear Sir, Here by the kind indication of Mr. TNE. I hope it is not envy, but are all of you British people born professional level railway modellers? Cheers from Brazil!

Cheers Eugenio, I doubt it, however I am a very well qualified professional Civil Engineer. Thanks for getting in touch. Regards Ray

@@longsheds Great! A fellow engineer! I am a chemical engineer, but i made me DSc in the Civil Engineering Department (but it was in virtual reality - i can't, for the life of me, calculate a beam... 🤦‍♂ ) . Me layout is just a 2,1x1,1m sheet of plywood, but i am having a lot of fun building it! Cheers!

@@eugeniomarins2936 Hello Eugenio. So you are virtually a civil engineer. Strictly speaking I used to be a civil engineer but have specialised first as a gas engineer and latterly as a geotechnical engineer. Very much hands on, nothing virtual about my work. We have spotted your presentation! Did you sit in front of a virtual library? 2.1m by 1.1m is small - is it 00 gauge, or perhaps N gauge? Cheers Ray

@@longsheds Hello, Mr. Owen! Your "virtually a civil engineer" made me laugh out loud! Unfortunately (but it was fun) i never specialised in something, i worked all over the place. Now, as i also work with nuclear security, i try to apply VR techniques in simulations and personel training in nuclear installations' security, but what i really like is science popularization. The "presentation" was a request by the ministry of science and technology when the actual event was canceled due to the pandemic. This video is in the ministry's official YT channel. I am happy you don't speak Portuguese, because it is really awful. I never had done anithing similar before. But i assure you, me live presentations in science popularization events are much more fun. I really do not know how to speak to a camera without seeing faces, and in this period i had to teach many remote classes not knowing if the students were really there. I should try to, at least, write some subtitles to the video. The background is me CD collection, which include many english composers, Purcell, Holst, Byrd, Elgar but also The Who, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, Camel, Genesis, Traffic and, of course, Beatles... Here in Brazil we have only a manufacturer of model trains (Frateschi) and they are all HO scale. I, by a stroke of luck, acquired some Hornby 0-4-0 steam shunters, they are lovely and use the same gauge. As i live in an apartment, a 6'11"x3'7" layout may be loftwise small, but it is bigger than me diner table. If i ever have the courage to make videos about me uninteresting layout they would have to be narrated in me horrible English... Cheers! I will subscribe to your channel. Eugenio.

@@eugeniomarins2936 In a past life I used to lecture, I cannot imagine talking to a camera - worse than talking to myself. An interesting CD collection. We have just discovered the music of JJ Cale - yes he is from the USA. He is supposed to have inspired Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler. For a short while I was corresponding with a teacher in Argentina - he had bought a railway item from me on eBay. He lived in an apartment and created a very British layout on his table. Regards Ray
