Back 4 Blood, the spiritual success to Left 4 Dead is currently in closed beta. I got early access to it and played a bunch. I've got a lot of good things to say about the PVE, not a lot of love for the PVP and a whole lot of question marks about the business model that Turtle Rock are rolling out for this one (especially after how Evolve went down).

I think the biggest issue you didn't cover in the review is the lack of Co-Op campaign vs mode. It is the core game mode in L4D 1/2. This game is going to suffer without that.

I have over 800 hours on fallout 76, it's all cosmetic. I don't know where people keep getting this idea where the shop have pay to win shit It doesn't. The stuff that is there is earnable in the game and it's not bad with giving it to you. I have 34 repair kits just by playing events. But uh, yeah listen to those youtube rants yeah?

The only way a battle pass can be somewhat fair is to destroy FOMO by having them just be a seasonal permanent progression. Or, you can choose to buy it now and do both levels of the pass simultaneously, or complete the first pass fully which will then unlock the second. Again, in this idea, there passes will never vanish. They will follow the halo infinite idea.

When Evolve came out, I didn't have a machine good enough to run it, so I didn't even bother looking into buying it. I had no idea what a fiasco the pricing was. But I watched it being streamed, and it looked incredibly fun, some unique ideas and gameplay on the side of the monster. I wish it hadn't died/been killed, because I would have liked to get in on that if the game was still around.

@@eterickstonely8548 well the problem with the game it was completely broken gameplay wise. It was impossible to catch up with the monster and try to kill it before it reaches stage 3 as the hunters were to slow and everyone needs to be inside the dome before it gets put up.

The zombies are boring, the pvp is complete trash, it has none of the small charming details of the first 2 games. The shooting is passable but it's the very definition of a generic shooter, horrendous.

I will not pay for multiplayer games anymore, haven't for years and years now. Multiplayer games need to be free-to-play to sustain a long-term thriving community - even if a game is great, people will just flock to worse, free games and the better game will inevitably die short of very few exceptions. If a multiplayer game is free, good and has a decently-sized community, I will 100% support it month in and out, year in and out but I will not pay for a multiplayer game in 2021.

You don't have to even pay $60, you can buy the xbox game pass and play it on there starting day one of release and if even just one of your friends or you have DLC everyone else in the group doesn't have to buy any of the DLC they can join and have it all as well. (If they are playing with a person that has DLC.)

Don't buy cosmetics from paid games plz Edit: forgot to mention that that pricing was a blue gun skin from evolve, this is outrageous for a 60 dollar game

Fun fact: The game will not feature any modding support at all BECAUSE of the paid cosmetics. Turtlerock also banned a guy who ported a left for dead map into the beta. Modding allowed L4D2 and the original to thrive and even resulted in an official expansion being made. I definitely won't be picking this game up.

@@ActualDavis that’s dark as hell tbh. The modding makes sure l4d2 is still fun with a few friends. Epic new amazing player made maps coming out reasonably regularly. It’s a bad mistake to not give out mod tools. - I guess this is a game-pass 50 hours shot and forget. Very sad.

@@ActualDavis - Pretty much everyone keeps looking at Turtle Rock while this game is published by WB (Evolve was under 2K). - So people should be looking at what else WB has done with games. - Perhaps consider how they handled the "Arkham" games, or the fact that they (not Monolith) have managed to patent the "nemesis system" for "Shadow of Mordor". - So mods for this game?... No way WB will allow for that and it's why the files are closed. - Turtle Rock has little say in this, with their 100-something staff. They're gonna listen to WB if they want to keep their jobs.

I don't know. After 2 hours of the beta I felt more inclined to just boot Vermintide 2 or Left 4 Dead 2 back up. God bless anyone caught having to actually play with bots as I tried them out and they were awful. The card system seems fine but I'd rather just play with a good AI director like L4D 2 had. I guess they need something besides cosmetics to justify a battle pass for. Probably a skip for me but Turtle Rock should be thankful its also on Game Pass day 1 as this looks like another miss, right now, for TR. There is a complete lack of immersion though and TONS of times enemies would just spawn right in front of me, players getting caught in the geometry, and serviceable combat. PVP seems like something included for a handful of players.

Ever since l4d came out it's always been a game I could jump back into whenever, months or years might pass, but I could go back in and just have fun. With the cards, characters, cs style weapon buys and battle pass, this game is going out its way to not let that happen.

Exactly. All that cool ambience with subtle story elements mixed into the level design and the feel of an apocalyptic outbreak the card system and copper currency system destroys this feel. It is being too many RPG and loot and shoot elements they it is quite repulsive in my opinion.

That doesn't mean it's a better game, however... I also feel like just starting up "L4D2"... Shall we just all go there and try and crash the servers?... Not for that, but by playing... Well, it doesn’t fully have to. I played a game last night and lost my only co-op partner when the internet kept waving on me. Instead of kicking me out of the match, it instead gave me an extra bot (we had already started out with two boys) in place of my teammate. The A.I is a bit crappy though. I got all the way to the end, almost made it, but then they would stall in areas, or they’d ignore the bot downed on the floor while standing near them. This got me killed on the last area when they all got downed and it was me verses every mob left (screw those troopers btw. ‘Oh we’re gonna leave without you!!’ Then ‘oh hey, you’re here. Btw can you go run and set these explosives up around the ship?’ F*cking hell the nerve. Otherwise, the game is pretty good. I wish I could move my weapon mods because you lose them when you switch weapons, but still I experimented a lot after I lost my co-op partner and didn’t need to worry about feeling like a greedy dick.

I think you should look at publishers more, though; Evolve was under 2K, this is under WB. - That might not be much better, but it's not the same company. Turtle Rock doesn't really get a say in how things are marketed and sold, they're just a 100-something people studio that do the creative stuff, and they'll have to listen to what the publisher wants in terms of selling it to get the support. - Then again, it seems they don't care about that... I don't know.

For a Left 4 Dead PVP connoisseur, the versus in Back 4 Blood is very dissapointing. L4D2 has it's flaws and a sweaty, often very toxic PvP is one of them but I feel like Turtle Rock have made an even worse monster. It is a more competitively designed game mode where a *"meta"* can actually exist *+* with a compination of heavy, *heavy* RNG, it will be fatal. Right now the issues are the forementioned RNG (ring is the worst offender), balance issues as well as the design/flow of the fights. To fix this, the devs can either make the Cleaners much stronger, which will require a whole redesign on gameplay such as movement, ADS and other things that this is very likely to never happen. The alternative is to nerf the Ridden. Maybe even better to redesign how they play. Just that at current state, it's a dire state this gameplay mode is in.

The card system (which supposedly can be earned in coop as well) is what upgrades the cleaners to be at least on par with the ridden. Plus we still don't know about the other 3 characters unique passives and such. The only thing bugging me is that the true medic is likely a main stay for any group.

Hot take, personal opinion inbound: Back 4 Blood just...doesn't have the soul. It's missing something that Left 4 Dead 2 had which makes it so replayable even now. Maybe it's the simplicity, maybe its the cohesion between the characters, but L4D2 still feels the superior game. B4B is going to be a competent game, but I don't think I'm going to jump into too much. Kinda like what was said at the end: It looks fun, but for how long? Really, if there's any comparison point that makes it immediately obvious to me, it's the Bridge Finale for both games. L4D2 has the buildup as you wait for the path to clear, the sudden slam as jets roar by, the long run all the way down, the Tank jumping in, the music kicking up, and that cutscene as you finally get on the Helicopter and it lifts off as you watch the bridge explode into the credits, The Survivors have Escaped! B4B has you blow up a wall, take a leisurely stroll down half a bridge, climb through a bit of a ferry, reach your escape...and get asked to turn around, go back, and plant explosives on the ferry. That kinda go off, cut to 'complete' screen, move on. One has urgency, the other doesn't.

This game just seems like it's a trend-follower, or at least trying to fit in with the current videogame-landscape. Which on one side is understandable, it doesn't have to be a bad thing, but then it can also just feel stale quickly. - I agree with you on "L4D2"; It's just very well-made, but that's also what Valve does. No matter if it was Turtle Rock doing it, there are certain criteria and ways of developing that Valve has to make it good and do the right thing for a product. - It's a very quirky company that does things their own way, and it seems Turtle Rock just went with WB and homogenized their game a bit more. - I had hoped that this would be like a "No L4D3? Fine, we'll do it ourselves!" kind of case, but it seems it's just not "the same" enough(!) to be as good (though, probably will be successful), and that Valve was the key to something actually good. - Sad now...

L4D was a success because of Valve and not because of TurtleRock. I think that was clear with Evolve and even clearer now with this game especially with how it handles gameplay and infected. Its inherently less intuitive just so they can monetize aspects of it.

"The level design is so good" I could not possibly disagree with this more. The level design is boring, short, and uninspired. Each chapter is basically three long "hallways" to get to the safe zone. Every time we made it to the end of one everyone I was plaything with thought we were half way there. Compare this to Vermintide, WWZ, or even L4D2. This game can't stand up to its modern competitors at all. There was nothing memorable about any of the chapters except maybe the ferry. However, even the ferry takes like 6 minutes and you get there in 3. For $60, this was a huge red flag for me.

I kinda disagree here - it's not the maps or the level design, it's more of lack of sense of 'urgency' as someone else posted out in the comments and the fun 'danger' in the horde events. When you go back to original L4D, it's also few hallways, an event, more hallways and then the safe room. The thing is, there are no outstanding events like elevator on 3rd or 4th No Mercy level, Rollercoaster on Dark Carnival level 4, etc - here, all events feel kinda the same. I think thats because Special Infected feel really underwhelming. Granted, I played on the easy difficulty only (because of time constraints) but there was no risk involved in Hordes - I could just stay wherever and I didnt feel like any guy with a flail, spiderman or boomer could mess us up if we stick together. In comparison, in L4D one good puke with a Charger/Spitter could severely handicap the team even on Normal. I just didnt feel the danger to even care about their presence. And dont get me started on the Ogre, its just a bullet sponge with no threat - when you think of Tank, he was a fucking agile beast that you always feared. One more thing is that game makes a shitty job of guiding you - we died on 2-4 because of 'survive the gauntlet'. What the fuck does it mean? Do we run? Do we fight till god knows when? It was frustrating as it wasnt really our fault on failing that. Perhaps those issues are because how Beta is constructed and they arent really what will be in the final product. However, if this is an actual representation of the product then Im really not hyped anymore.

I have hundreds of hours on Vermintide and dozens on WWZ and apart from a meaningful progression and possibly a certain level design philosophy B4B is lacking in sheer size, everything feels a lot smaller: short levels, small open spaces, small number of zombies on screen, hardly any explosion.

The problem here is this company likes to say the creators from Left 4 Dead when only three of the members are the people who made Left 4 Dead and who knows if they're even listening to them, also they banned people for making mods for the game already and that's not something you do when you're trying to bring in the Left 4 Dead community, with that being said I believe this game will be fun but it won't last as long as Left 4 Dead and won't come close to lasting as long

I had a bot hop on a Mini-gun near the beginning of a map, and STAY on that mini-gun even when we finally got to the last horde and cleared the safe room. We couldn't advance until one of us trekked alllll the way back to the beginning of the map and shoot the bot off the mini-gun. Where the bot then magically respawned all the way back to the end of the map, while the player who went to go get that bot now has to make the trek all the way back to the end in order to complete the map. Took literally 5 minutes out of the game that was nothing but trying to fix a bot bug.

I did manage to play some of this game solo, the randoms I got queued with left, so I had all bots as teammates. While, they work well enough, they aren’t exactly the brightest AI. They constantly got in my way, especially at safe room doors, or shot me in the back. As far as I can tell, they can’t do any of the objectives on the map, only shoot enemies. I had a few weird encounters as well with the friendly AI. One time I was trapped by one of the spitter special infected and my friendly AI refused to free me. All three of them just stood around me in a circle and waited for me to bleed out before reviving me. Another oddity I ran into is that the AI seems to run out of ammo and doesn’t pick up any if they’re low. I got to a holdout section and all of my AI teammates refused to shoot the zombies, causing us to quickly get overrun.

I had a similar experience, where players left mid game (Someone told me people are getting disconnected, I didn't look it up so I don't know) and I was left with bots. Game was nice with people, but went downhill with bots. I can't see myself ever playing this game solo after that, very incompetent AI.

I also had a similar experience, my first game was all bots. I got to the end of the first map, and had to blow up the ferry. None of the bots grabbed the explosives, so I had to make two treks back and forth to do it myself, and barely made it out alive. Not sure if I could've picked up two at once, since I didn't immediately realize how useless they were. I also got stuck by those zombie wall trap things, and the bots just ran at me doing nothing, making me lose a life. I still had some fun, but they need to smarten up the AI for any sort of single player offline play.

While solo play wasnt technically available, I had a few times where I would search for a game and it would just take so long that it would eventually put me into a game by myself and 3 bots. The bots don't free each other from traps, and they won't free you, they will literally stand right next to you staring at you until you die then instantly revive you, They don't heal me, themselves or pick up items in general. If people join mid game, they spawn at the start with no weapons and the bots don't despawn until the next mission start, I've went through a whole mission on the hardest difficulty easily with 7 people (4 people 3 bots). Even with these few problems I've definitely been enjoying myself in Closed Beta and can't wait for the game to come out.

I dunno I as much as I love L4D and KF2 there's just something off about this game. I know everyone is going Evolve this and Evolve that but Turtle Rock created L4D. I don't have a problem with them creating this type of game. The battle passes in a $60 game is still hard to swallow despite it becoming the norm. After watching this video, I just don't feel like I have seen something in this game that I haven't seen before or made me feel like "Wow, I need to go buy this." Plus the cabbage doesn't even explode. What kind of lazy physics engine is that? But in all seriousness, I would love a zombie/horde shooter game with destructible environments and buildings. Image how much more tense games like L4D or KF2 would if all of your cover and hiding places were prone to being destroyed.

Everyone keeps going “L4D creators” this and “L4D creators” that, when there’s literally only 2 creators from the original game present on this project; the rest of the team quit before and during B4B’s development (with the vast majority being before). Therefore, Turtle Rock wasn’t involved in this game at all. And that explains why it lacks the heart of what made L4D such a great game. This game plays more like a CoD: Zombies wannabe. The special infected are unmemorable and underwhelming (they were so lazy in creating them that they couldn’t be bothered to give them their own unique themes like in L4D). The regular infected lack flair. The maps lack uniqueness in both design and dynamics; they aren’t even used organically (like how you’d have to discover weapons and supplies out in the environment in L4D). Here, you go to a crate and you buy stuff with in-game currency: no thrill, no tension, no excitement. The game as a whole lacks the tense, gritty, gore-filled aesthetic that L4D was known for, with its generic choice of weapons and its characters looking like they hopped straight out of a battle royal game.

The single FACT that u cannot pvp in campaign levels like in L4D and it is its own weird mode is SUCH a turn off. Versus mode is what kept L4D alive not playing single player campign w bots or even friends All these addons for survivors and infected ruin that simplicity L4D had. @@T1tusCr0w In all honesty World War Z is a far more polished and more impressive version of what this aims to be minus the zombie mode. You really get that river of zombies vibe that you saw in the movie in that game. If it had mod support for custom maps it would be perfect imo. The fact that B4B won't have any of that kind of kills a lot of the community longevity of the game which is really disappointing.

A few points of criticism that I found while playing the beta 1: you can't take attachments off guns or transfer them to other guns 2: locked loot rooms are always in the exact same spots on the map making getting good loot pretty easy 3: There is no way to individually adjust the volume of a single players mic 4: There is no vote system to changed the difficulty 5: During the heat of the moment it's kinda hard to tell the difference between similar special infected like the difference between the hocker and the stinger 6: The rain particles and rain physics felt pretty plain and basic. Even though I have a few comments about the game, I had such a fun time playing B4B with my friend. I'd definitely recommend buying it if it wasn't for all the dlc and map packs and unlockable characters

This game makes me feel neutered as a solo player. The card system is a grind fest of RNG. The collaboration with randos will never happen. The bots are worse than L4D2 (somehow). Play with friends, you say? The game is overpriced and isn't worth the baseline price none the less the pre-planned DLC. TurtleRock's Back4Blood? More like Back4Disappointment. 🍆🥵👌

I had a blast with the beta so far. It honestly feels like the natural progression for Left 4 Dead in every aspect except for the soundtrack. I can't remember a single track from this game and it could really use some cooler songs while you fight the horde I usually hate shooters unless they're mindless horde shooters like Left 4 Dead and (loud) Payday 2 and this one was super fun

It looks like a good game but It won't come close to Left 4 Dead considering the company doesn't even want modders to do anything for the game since they keep banning them and that's not something you do when trying to bring in the Left 4 Dead community

@@AraiiarA True, I mean it won't come close to Left 4 Dead but I believe it could be a good game also I probably missed it but I don't see any ragdoll effects when you kill a special infected in this game, they all just disappear when they die and one of the fun things about Left 4 Dead was watching people die and ragdoll lol

I mean I have put about 400 hours into l4d and almost 7200 hours into l4d2 mostly cause I loved that game to death in my opinion will this game be better then l4d2 probably not but it could be a fun game to play from time to time especially with it going on game pass.

I'm just so confused with their decisions.... Maps available to everyone so long as one person has it in their library? Why not just make it open to everyone. full stop. Considering making the campaign to be available offline down the line? Why not make it so from the get go. full stop. No mods? What. In. The. Actual. Fuck. Just feels like they are trying to be subtle with their FOMO tactics to frontload player numbers and get us paying extra for the maps, etc without realizing it just made the whole thing too blatant.

Nightmare also has unique map modifiers which don't appear in Veteran and Survivor so there's even more variance in Nightmare runs

I'm sorry, but any developer that says he'll "look into if it's possible to make the game playable offline" it's bullshiting you. That's done because the developer or the publisher is more worried with preventing piracy than if the costumer will be able to play the game in a couple of years or more later. As long they make their money, they don't care if you can't play the game anymore. Having no mods also makes it look like a worse version of Left4Dead. The official maps were always good quality, but the vast ammount of user created content made Left4Dead have a ridiculous long life and much of it was just as good as the official content. The pvp sounds like a regression from what they had in Left4Dead. In L4D you would race the enemy team to the end of the campaign maps, the enemy team would try to stop you and at the end the game turned things around and was your turn to try to stop them. The score was decided on time, health remaining and number of survivors. This new mode of endless horde on a open map for the pvp, sounds like the people that made it never played L4D. Because when teams were balanced, the run of each map would naturally go longer as the enemy team is doing a better job at trying to stop you. When they weren't balanced and one team was much better, at least it made the matches shorter, either because one team would imediatelly die or rush ahead unopposed. While in an arena, if you're much better than the enemy team, you'll just stand there bored that the zombies aren't doing anything, waiting for the match to end. It really looks like this studio had one good game in them and now is trying to remake it.

The only reason i'll have to try this out is Game Pass. Otherwise there's just too many red flags. And i actually enjoyed Evolve, or at least the design and gameplay of the game itself. Not so much the caveats, which this game seems to have as well

Without seeing this video yet: You know, I was (yes, didn't play as much in the recent years) a long-time 'Left 4 Dead 2' player, and for some time I was hoping for that period where all the "3s" of Valve would come out (yes, for those three major series) along with "Source 2". - Of course that didn't happen, but then came the news of the original creators of "L4D" doing another game of that type themselves. - Sounded good. However, soon enough it started to look like a bit too much of a "big" and trend-following title. I mean, I can understand that they made a deal with a company and they will have to do certain things for that support, but "L4D" never really FELT like a very big AAA game or anything like that. Probably due to how Valve is basically "indie", as they are literally independent. - "B4B" is not an indie-game and I'm afraid it won't have that feel. It's probably modeled after something like 'Dying Light', which isn't a bad game at all, but they have been doing this thing with constant content-updates and events and bla bla bla... "L4D" never went the way of that or 'Team Fortress 2' and it still survived. So I already wish "B4B" was approached in a more "indie" way. - Because even though Turtle Rock is still a small independent studio, which could make a good game, this particular game is published by WB, which is likely a problem. - We'll see... I'm sad to say I'm still on the fence on this one... I might still just keep playing "L4D2", as dated as it is... :\

For some reason they arent even allowing private matches in the beta, the option is there but greyed out. And yeah it doesn't look like it's an offline mode. Is it so much to ask to play a game offline in splitscreen or over LAN? That's some bullshit if this actually turns out to be purely online or you can't play at all. The most blatant form of intrusive DRM.

They won't, unless the game really bombs. If you can play offline you can use those "awful" mods to bypass turtle rock's perfectly laid out monetizati- (coughs) I mean progression system and actually have some fun offline!

I loved Evolve but honestly, the dlc scheme earned it a lot of ire. It was confusing, and felt greedy, and B4B has shades of that same. Shame because I was hoping Evolve Stage 2 would save the game.

EVOLVE would be great if monster player was not there to kill hunters but to create experience for the other 4 players (maybe win some rewards by how others enjoyed the game). When I played with my mates I would disengage when winning letting them recover. Sort of AI director. It was fun for everyone. But online vs tryhard wraith monster, it was terrible experience. That monster was OP and it was impossible to win against it, no fun at all.

Honestly it is quite disappointing after playing it. The guns feel too light and the sounds are terrible, melee combat doesnt have the same or similar feeling as L4D2 does. The maps feel smaller scaled, "common" zombies lack design variety(they just have a simple design overall too, L4D was way better), special zombies are pretty much "copied" L4D special infected zombies but are worse again in terms of functionality, especially in Versus, which is again worse than L4D and less fun. The characters are not memorable at all, I dont think I can remember any quotes at all or even the names. Hordes are vastly smaller, nothing is really terrifying nor errie like some moments in L4D, the ambient soundtrack in L4D is vastly superior and creates great atmosphere. Gore is heavily reduced and has nothing close to what L4D2 had. The card system is good though, works really well and you can make great combos. Overall I would give the game around 4-5/10 at best, it is nothing special. If this is how they wanted to make L4D3 then I am really glad they didnt.

The melee combat is absolute garbage there's no area of effect to your swings so if your getting surrounded you might as well be dead you're better off with a pistol as a secondary

@@ironbear2645 I agree. You can get specific cards into your mission that allows you to 1 melee hit kill enemies(V button) and then a second card to replenish HP with every melee kill. That combo completely makes melee obsolete in B4B.

I mean, the commons have simple designs in L4d2, the only differences between them was that some were female, others were shirtless or wore skirts or something, and overall they were just dudes or ladies with paler skin, glowing eyes and some blood and black hair, not much to them either you know.

The enemies in L4d I'd argue are the epitomy of simple, their designs are recognizable and you could tell what their purpose might be just by looking at them, but their designs aren't really special. B4B just has a more infested and far more mutated look to it, compared to L4d which is just... buff guy, lady with claws, hoodie, jaw lady, jacks-off, midget, fat guy, achne dude... if that's not simple, I'd hate to know what counts as complex for you.

My mates and I play L4D2 8 player Campaign Versus. Back 4 Blood doesn't have any reason for us to migrate to it without a proper campaign versus mode, which you think would be the first thing the devs would put in once they got the campaign itself working.

Swarm mode is the mode "Survival Versus" in Left 4 Dead 2 that the Last Stand added, and it's the least played versus mode. It saddens me to see them take the cheap way out in versus, but as a modder with 5 campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2, I understand why. Designing a level for players to play in versus requires a different optimization route, and requires additional balancing stages. It also kills the replay value for me personally to know it's campaign only and I can't make a full-blown campaign but I can in Left 4 Dead 2 -.- I wish devs would realize modders *will* buy all the dlc if it means we can use those assets to create content. Stop cutting us out ,_,! I made Absolute Zero, Epilogue, Working on Expanse the prelude, working on a Resident Evil 7 Port, and made Zero Warning. I won't buy the game mainly because they cut me out thinking modders will cut them out (we wont, people always want the dev content, fools!).

I met all of my Xbox friends playing L4D and a few more playing L4D 2. I've moved to PlayStation 5 now so I'm looking forward to meeting some more chilled out zombie slayers in Back 4 Blood. I've got a bad feeling about monetization but as long as it doesn't have a significant impact on playing with new people then I guess I can live with it. If anybody is on PS5, not a squeaker, and not looking to take it too seriously then drop me a message. I'm not very interested in anything PvP related but coop campaign is what I love and what I loved about L4D.

So its a coop game like L4D2, without my cheat command fun that allowed me to do things like spawn 50 tanks and try to run to the safehouse, jockey races, etc. Without the custom workshop maps, without custom mutators, without community servers and season pass garbage. Why would i buy this exactly?

This game cannot in ANY way be solo'ed. I played with 2 friends and a bot. The AI in this game is absolutely embarrassing. 3 of us went down and the AI was just standing on the minigun not shooting anything. It was constantly letting itself get slapped by groups of zombies and it constantly blasted buckshot into the back of our heads. With that and the other various bugs, (graphical, systems, and server stability) this game isn't likely going to be shipped in October. It's really fun and I really want it to do well but honestly, Idk what game he was playing that was so smooth and flawless because it wasn't the Beta. Lol. It has a lot of potential but is in a rough state and usually nothing major happens development wise between these little betas and the game's release. Also you keep calling the card system a "Battle pass" system. What exactly do you think that is? It's just a way to get your cards. How is that not blatantly obvious? It's like if you were playing an RPG and kept calling a skill tree a "battle pass" that could be paywalled. Like what? It's literally one of if not the focus of this game they're not going to charge you a dollar for every skill that's just idk, Idk how that even enters your mind. The game would be DOA if they sold you their version of a skill tree. Like not to be a dick, but you saw exactly how you get them and yet you keep posing this theory that "oh they may be for money." "They may be a battle-pass." Have you never played an RPG with skill trees? How many hours did you actually play before putting up this review? You do levels, you get supply points, you then complete the act, go back and spend your points to buy cards to build your loadout. How in any way is that confusing?

I appreciate that players who are actively involved in online threads and whatnot were differentiated from the rest of the market. Those small group of players who are wary and cautious about this game and whatnot are the very same players who probably still play L4D2 and will continue to play it after Back 4 Blood comes out. I say this being one of those players. If this game goes up in flames, we can just go back and play what we've been playing for 10+ years.
