Hi Dave, Glad you had a nice holiday. The CX should be treated as a Backload Site. You are always competing with a driver going home that will Bid cheap. Own customers is the way to go.

Thanks for another great video Dave. Can you please say what you mean by a good rate where it covers for your return journey as well. Do you actually get paid for your return miles in the original price?

A good enough rate to not be bothered about a return/back load.. on a Tuesday I deliver 3 drops in London all pre 9am - in the last 6 weeks I've not even looked for a backload, job pays more than enough so just hot foot it home 😂

@@anvillogistics477 I'd love to know what your all miles (so total number of miles put on the van odometer) PPM is. Appreciate that's pretty sensitive information and would totally understand if it's information you're not keen to share. To answer the question myself, working exclusively on the CX, in a small van, and tramping out a couple of times a week, so far this year, I'm on £0.72 ppm, all miles.

@@whitevanman9569 never really kept an eye on it to be honest. Last year I think the turnover was £85000 and think I covered around 79,000. That’s approximately as I changed vans

I’m In a small van, I’ve never had a fraction of the luck saintsman has. I’m running out of Scotland tramping in the van. I’ve always struggled to get a decent rate on cx heading south from Scotland as most drivers from England will head south for sometimes less than £0.50 a mile, but when I’m south shippers want me to offer backload rates 😂. Think cx has run its course for me almost just over 3 years, I’ll swap the small van for a lwb and go back to multidrop.

Hi Dave, if you put multiple bids in and get more than one job what do you do?

Only accept one job, explain to shipper you've already accepted a job, very occasionally shippers will send the job over with no phone call to driver & in this situation you can end up double booked.
