Glad the rain didn’t mess that job up to much! Great place for Tim to learn on the dozer. Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend!

the best video of this whole project so far starts at 2:35 you can just see how much sediment there is looking at the Volvo and how deep you are digging. love this shit.

Well you can't say you're not getting variety, burning one day, digging out the pond, then leveling of the spoil, have a great week-end.

The strange thing is that the sediment filling the ponds probably came from farm fields just like the one where they are dumping it. That field itself may have been 3 feet higher a couple hundred years ago when the trees were originally cleared. They could cover hundreds of fields if they ever cleared out the Chesapeake Bay.

How lucky is this guy scoring all this fantastic soil. Whatever the cost to him, it will be worth it by virtue of how productive it will be.

Your job there is making me want to go get a dump truck and start driving again. Been years since I ran excavators and trucks for a living but I still miss it. Not really far away from there since I live in Wendell :-)

Can't get over how dry that sediment is, is it quite sandy light soil? I do dredging in the UK, and what we pull out stays like pudding for months.
@letsdig18
@letsdig18 5 лет назад
yeah, its hardly ever this dry. its nice to have a real sandy job for once!

That was fortunate with this lake job not being filled with crap ,I expected to see shopping carts and dead cattle in the sediment filling what you'd already taken out, and your new sidekick seems to be fitting in already, in my experience just getting them to turn up on time was half the battle.

Anybody in the phx area need someone to run an excavator? Watching Chris's videos makes me homesick for the big machines.

Lake doesn't look bad at all. I guess it's because you only got 6" and not the several feet of rain the weatherman promised.

Never really had the need to, you end up with more random people calling asking what you are doing and being nosy than potential customers
