Disclaimer: Attempt at your own risk, there’s always a risk of getting hurt when learning flips. I wouldn’t recommend trying this if your body isn’t strong enough yet. Some ways to know you’re not ready: your arms are bending when you put weight on them, your jump is too slow, your hips won’t stay forward, etc Another tip: your arms need to be straight and reaching as far passed your head as you can. If they are in front of your head, or bent, you will probably face plant
Finallyy a tutorial that isn't like.. 1. Be flexible & good at gymnastics 2. Do a back handspring!! 😊😊 Edit: Tysm for 1k likes! I've never gotten this many! 🩷
Usually, I would try doing a round off backhand springs because you would get more power into it on a trampoline and then go for it. Standing on a trampoline then if you are in a gym, there’s gonna be spring floors so you could do it on that too.
I learned it on my trampoline and just went for it! And then I went for it on grass, and then carpet! So I did not use any tutorial and full on taught myself.
@@danichace Thank you so much for this video, I've been trying to learn gymnastics but it seems scary to do without a spotter or mat. This made it seem fun and gentle. Way less scary, thank you so much! I appreciate your so much videos!! 🤸🏽♀️
Most helpful tutorial I’ve seen! Im a gymnast so i already have my back handspring but my friend who is not a gymnast tryed it and go it in a few minutes of doing this!
COMING FROM A GYMNAST AND CHEERLEADER!! some times that way of teaching a back handspring causes bad habits from going side ways! my friend learned it like that and now her back handspring goes side ways! my tip would be to have someone spot you, the person should have there hand on your back and legs to push you over!! or go on a trampoline and think of it as when you sit in a chair then make a big rainbow!! please commit because if you bail you will get hurt! 😊
@@KallieFales Any gymnastic skill is best learned in the presence of a professional. This is obviously an alternative for people that don't have the resources (coach, foam pit, trampoline, spotter) or don't care about any 'bad habits' because it's just for fun.
This is so helpful! I’ve tried so many back handspring tutorials bc I really want to learn but this is different than what I’ve seen before and seems like a better way to learn
Omg thank you so much!!! I was a gymnast since i was 3 and had to stop due to moving. It was really sad for me since it was a passion of mine. I came across your video and tried it immediately. I’ve been trying to learn my backhand spring to get back into gymnastics. This video was what I really wanted to start my passion again!!! Tysm !!
Relly helpful tutorial this helped me alot thats how u do it i wonderd how evryone could do this but me just sitting waching evryone doing it so perfect and now i know i don't need to wonder anymore thank u so much
Omg! This is so much better than the other 20 minute tutorials, that show us with a spotter . I really needed help learning this since I’m doing competition for cheer and I can’t do my back hand spring yet thank you so much!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg! Thank you so much! I'm a dancer and just recovered from an injury I had recently lost my back handspring because I hadn't been practicing. I took an hour and followed your video and I can do it! This helped me so much! Thank you!
Thank you so much!!I'm a dancer and gymnast and i have my back tuck, back walkover and back limber but ive always struggled with a back handspring and this video helped me get closer!!
I was self taught, I didn’t watch any videos to help me, and I had no one to help me/spot me, with the comfort from my friend, and going over to his house on his trampoline with him everyday, he has inspired me to do it,
How i learned is I kept doing back limbers (fall into bridge and then kick over but with 2 feet together) and then started swinging but not jumping into back limbers *on trampoline* and then eventually your body starts jumping into back limbers automatically! That’s how i learned on tramp, and then i just had people spot me until i got it on floor :D
You do not know how thankful i am for this tutorial ive been trying to do a back hand spring for 4+ yrs and from this tutorial i got it in 10 mins thank you sooo much!!
Omg Tysm, I have been trying to get my back handspring for forever and I have not gotten it yet😢 but I have been trying to find videos like this but I haven’t found any good ones until I came across this video, this is helping so much and I am so much more close to a back handspring then ever so Tysm❤❤❤
Finally a good quality tutorial for people who actually don’t have a coach or a spotter and are not a gymnast! I tryed this myself with one of my non gymnast friends and she did her first back handspring a few hours ago!
Someone who actually teaches it to you. Not just tells you to stretch and then just go for it. Thanks For actually teaching me ways to actually like get it.❤
This is a great tutorial! But I’d suggest you do it on both sides otherwise you can get into a bad habit of twisting out of back handsprings and other cool tricks like this! But great tutorial nonetheless
How does a front limber help a back handspring lol it’s not similar at all? Unless you mean back limber a frontward one would only help with front handsprings or front walkovers lol
as a gymnastics coach, this is a good way to get someone comfortable enough to trust themselves since gymnastics is more mental than physical. i have a few tips of my own to help, but this is your video and i find it inspirational 💕
Definitely saving this video for when it’s not 1030 at night and I’m in bed so I’m gonna try this tomorrow😊 I also used to be able to do if I handspring until I stopped tumbling so that’s great that’s OK because my sister‘s friend was tumbling so she comes to my house. I’m like do you wanna practice my fronthand spring I can do a front tuck good tho
I mean I came across this and know I can’t do this (at least not yet) but I wanted to say thank you for actually giving good tips and instructions instead of others who literally do stretches and moves that are already to hard for people who don’t already do gymnastics and stuff like that! ❤❤❤❤❤
It’s more helpful if you do backwalkovers and back limbers and back extension rolls instead of going sideways because you will get used to going sideways( no according to me to my gymnastic teacher of 20 yrs)
I can't even tell you how much this helped me. I've been trying to get my back handspring for 2 years but after doing this I got it today!! It's kind of bad but at least I can do it now. I can't even express how much this helped me thank you a lot!!!!❤
Ty I literally in less than 30 minutes thank you and I really needed that cause I’m a cheerleader in almost everybody knows how to do a backhand spring and I just went so I guess a show my coach
This is a great tutorial! this can help get you back handspring fast, but if you don't end up getting straight over it could create some bad habits. (I would recommend learning by a coach to help prevent injures, but this tutorial is also amazing just make sure you be careful, and if you do get you backhandspring using this i'd say make sure your fully over (going straight backwards) to prevent bad habits! Thanks DaniChace for this amazing tutorial :)
thank you so much I’ve been wanting to do a back handspring for so long and spotting just wasn’t my thing i finally got my back handspring and im so happy thank you!!
If you have mental blocks or think your not strong enough, I learned it by jumping into a back limber, you can watch a tutorial of this was on RU-vid somewhere. Also you may want to point your toes midway through and squeeze your knees, sorry this just helps with form as I can see you have bent legs but still great
Hello! I am a gymnast and have always wanted my back handspring! But I am very tall and when I jump backwards my spotters say I jump way too high. I wanted to know if you could make a tutorial on how to NOT jump straight into the air while doing you’re handsprings. I have done it before but now based in the spotters recommendations I am way too scared of hurting myself or others. I think I would be better at back tucks but I need this skill cause it is a necessity if I want to continue doing gymnastics.❤ thanks this tutorial helped me so so so much❤❤😊
Think of the beginning of the back handspring like trust fall, when you bend your legs to start, start falling backwards, and when you can’t go back anymore or you’ll fall, that’s the timing for when you should jump. The farther back you’re able to fall in the beginning, the longer the back handspring will be. You can also possible try round off back handsprings over standing, the power from the round off helps me go farther as well
This is so helpful!!! I tried to do it for a long time but I just couldn’t do it by myself. Now I can basically do it by my self!!! You’re a life saver to me❤❤
