@@FoxcastMedia is there any way you could tell me the size of your garage where you bought it how much you paid for it if you had to set it up yourself? I'm looking to do something very similar to try to get my business up and growing and I love the lay out of your space and set up! Me and my partner got about $20,000 saved we're looking to build something similar to your setup but with two lifts we got the land acquired we're trying to find the right building plan on doing it ourselves I know a lot of those metal shed garage buildings you can have delivered for a pretty cheap but I'm just curious if you could give me any information thank you love the channel!
Aero cars don't make "enough" power anymore, so they're not seen as so different from a 4-eye now. A 4-eye will accept a Coyote just as well as an aero will. And the older style interior in a 4-eye takes you back to another era in a way the aero cars really don't. I still look at an aero interior as fairly "current", even though it really isn't true, haha.
The steering wheel you showed in the red '4 Eye' is the stock steering wheel for the non-option cruise control models I believe. I had the exact one in my Jalapeno Red '86 that I'll forever miss. Ironically enough I was browsing Ebay earlier and most '4 Eyes' in decent condition are going for well over 10 grand. They have a white '84 G.T. 350 package listed going for 14.5K and an Jalapeno Red '86 GT in mint condition listed at 22.5k (both low miles). Insane they are going for that, guess you are correct they are becoming extremely desirable. Great vid by the way!
I got an 86 coupe i’m turbo ls swapping, and an 88 4 cylinder hatch.. for the rest of my life there will always be at least one foxbody under my name... love both four eyes and aero cars!
I live in Louisiana we dont see many bubble back mustangs. I actually had to google that just to see what it looks like. Pretty cool. I bet they were not many produced like that.
@@Deeznuts84356 by bubbleback mustang i assume youre talking about the capri? The capri looked so cool...completely different hatch and tails, the entire front end and hood is different the RS models were really badass i always wanted a capri i am the kinda guy that likes to be different...owning a capri is very different yet all the aftermarket basically interior and driveline wise as well as brakes and wheels from mustangs will all work.. So its like having mustang yet still having something different. Badass cars. Had a chance to buy a ttop 86. Capri that needed tlc for 800 bucks 15 years ago kick myself every day for not doing it.
I must be a couple years older than you because in 91 when I was 19 the Aero cars were a little too expensive and I can only afford a four I car which I still have today great video
Going through your channel been a fan for a long time! The 86 was my car I sold to your friend a while back. Do you guys still have this car or have any idea where it may be ?
Funny...My first mustang back in the day was a used 85' GT, carbureted with the 85mph speedo and dated interior (at the time). I however REALLY wanted a newer 89-92' GT manual at the time but couldnt afford it. Looking back my 85 was a great car though!
@@ms3ben I had 2 86 convertibles 5speed before I got my 90 and 91. I honestly love the retro look I had with the 86 and down. I tried to buy my super clean 86 but they will not sell it back to me. Hopefully I can come across a 4eye notchback or T-Top. Man here in Bay are where I live they want a arm and leg for them now. I remember back in the day when I was in elementary school my brother used to get SSP for dirt cheap
I'm resto modding my early 79 Mustang (flat trunk lid) 2.3L 4 speed with aluminium bumpers and factory header. I got into an accident last year and had to rebuild it, the rear axle was bent, left fender and door were toast, an a bit of damage on the quarter panel but nothing serious. So far I've installed the entire 1995 drivetrain and brake system (even the brake booster and ABS) from a parts car I bought the month prior the accident. Luckily, most Fox Mustangs here are 79-81 models so parts aren't that hard to find.
4-eye has always been my go to on foxes even when everyone hated them. Since I’ve been into them so long tho I got MANY 86 only parts in my collection 😊
I'm glad I still have mine. I almost sold it but changed my mind. Thanks for the 4 eyed love. I'm looking for a motor and transmission for it now. I want to get it back on the road. Keep up the great videos Foxcast media. Much love
Great upload.......for some reason, these cars always appealed to me and I'm gonna look for one to play with. They are like a blank canvas......you can do anything you want with them.
I am the original owner of a 1985 Mustang GT 5.0. I love this car, but it is need of a resto, it's not in bad shape, but I would like to get it freshened up and back on the road. I have many great memories blasting out to Vegas with my buddies. Unfortunately I live in CA where everything here sucks nowadays, except for the weather.
Growing up in the 90’s I always loved the four eye as well when everyone liked the aeronose. 28 years later was able to purchase a black 85 GT hatch, glad to see the love for em is still out there. Thanks great video brotha! Keep the fox’s alive 😎🤘
I have an actual 1984 5.0 GT CHARCOAL GREY. My first was a 86 coup, then a 82 5.0 GT Red that was my favorite, then a 91 5.0 LX Red and now the 84 GT. I need a hatch and hóod. The hatch has rust issues that I don't want to repair and the hood was hit but it's not bad it's just where it was hit that's hard to repair. 4eyed have always been my favorite. Thanks for showing those off and I can't wait for LMR to bring more parts out for us 4eyed guys. God bless brother.
I’ve got an 84 GT and I love the look of it. I prefer it over the newer ones personally. It has 80s swag like crazy. Plus, it doesn’t take much to get some extra power out of the old 302.
Love them. 85 notch , black 347 6 speed 37k original garaged miles. Drives awesome. My first mustang black 85gt 306. They definitely feel more classic to me. The whole vibe of them. Now that I have mine I’d hate to have to try to find another. I got lucky. Can’t thank the woman I bought it from enough. I couldn’t believe it when she opened the garage door. Zero rust on it. You could eat off the bottom.
Good stuff. That is the original steering wheel style that came in the 85/86 LXs. The 85/86 LX 5.0 coupes are the rarest and least 5.0 LX coupes ever produced. Around 2000 made both years which is why they’re unicorns and impossible to find.
My first exposure to a 5.0 LX was a 86 coupe a lady at my apartment complex had. I loved hearing her start it up! But when I was able to get mine, it had to be a hatch and all they had was a new loaded 86 GT auto and the 87 models. I ended up with the 87 hatch with AC and the 5.0 package only. The 4 eye are great looking cars now!
Thanx for the 4eye pics.Love them!I've owned 3-79's,80,81,83,84,86&89 & 79 & 86 capri's & currently an 82 capri t-top 4spd with a cute lil 347 w/holley fuel injection🙂
I’m so glad to hear talk of the early 80’s fox body Mustang. I own a 1985 Mustang GT Cobra that I’ve bought back in 1990. Love your videos keep up the good work! Stay safe
Hey Caleb. Hope you get to feeling better! As for the 4 eyed subject. Love mine. You have seen it a few times. Everytime I take her out people love to stair at it. You don't see many anymore. Mostly aero cars and they are even getting harder to find!
Was always a Mopar man had roadrunners, challengers, demons, darts and some more and got cancer and had to sell them for financial reasons, my son came to house with a 1986 mustang 5.0 5 speed T tops and said Dad would you like to have this Stang and course said yes, December 2020 still only has 100000 miles and it really runs like a new car, all stock other than 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Great Video didn't mean to ramble on so much.💯
86 GT 5.0 Automatic was my first car when I was 14 years old, my old man bought it for me the only car he's ever got me ive been in love with Foxbodys every since. Thanks for content always brother!!!
I had an 86 notch with a stroked 351 windsor in it! Loved that car, but I fucked up! Cops cant' stand it for you to have a Ford that runs faster than theirs!
I graduated from high school in San Francisco in 1991. Lots of 1986 Capri RS and Mustang GT's rolling backward throughout the hills of SF. SVO's were always popular here in the city along with Turbo T Types too! Feel better!
I just bought a 84 20TH ANNIVERSARY GT 350 convertable with 5.0 automatic transmission. Has 34k miles. My first Mustang, and it does get some love. Mainly from older crowd.
I have a 86 lx convertible. It’s completely stock but it sat so long that it needs an engine overhaul. I even have the original 10eye rims. Wish me luck with my inexperience while restoring it!
I have a 84 gt350. Its a roller now. Working on getting a 94 302 rebuilt and in the car. Eye balling turbos and centrifugal blower blow through options. Thanks for the 4eye love
Thanks for showing us 4eyed guys love you don't see them much I have an 85 gt 5spd that runs mid 12s in stock trim and with the original 93000 mile motor and trans
@@FoxcastMedia if you're looking I probably can find you one I find cars ft my buddies all the time my father has a junkyard in NC I'm a mechanic in ct so I always no where the good stuff is my other cars are a 75 maverick with a 347 and I have 79 fairmont I'm building now so if you need help let me know
What did you do to it to make it run mid 12s? I have a 84 and I’m getting stuff for it here and there, saving up, got some gt40p heads the other day from the junkyard for $60.
It's got a weind stealth intake a 650dp a f-cam 1.6 roller rockers valve springs to match the cam and some old school 289 close chamber heads with alot of work done to them the only problem is it jumped the compression up so you have to have real good gas in it even with the timing turned down hope that helps and I drive it every with no problems
The SVO steering wheel came as an option. Also, kicked plenty of aero ass back in the day 😉 Had offers back in the 90’s for my 86’ and everyone got a big, NO! Lmao. Only wish I had purchased a notch as well! Thanks for the love brother!
I will be joining 4 eyed gang soon enough. My uncle has one with an i6 and a bad auto tranmission just sitting around just waiting to be V8 5speed swapped. It's a complete diamond in the rough.
One thing I've noticed about foxbody Mustangs. Literally 95% (that I've seen) are claiming to have somewhere under 100k miles on them. I personally know a guy at work who recently bought one and is bragging that it only has 27,000 miles on it, yet he's replacing the worn out motor right now. Just think, if all cars didn't include that 6th digit on the odometer, then none of us would have to drive a car with over 100k miles.
Love my 4 eye. There are a lot of parts you cannot get new and people are hoarding the rare stuff. Still looking for the Cobra dash and door panels for mine.
Had a '79 Capri with handles at the floor and a 84 GT. Both 4 eye cars. Sold it for want of an aero car. Took awhile. When I bought the 90 lx 4banger for a swap, I really wanted a carb car. The grass is always greener.
85-86 were the milestone foxes as the 85 was last year for carb and 7.5 rear and 86 being first fuel injected 5.0s and 8.8 rear end. Both are my favorite because of the looks and most people ran with the aero cars. It was rare to see them on the streets back then and when you did it was either stock or fully built for racing. Still most you see are stock and rightfully should be but not my style like most of us. I picked up an 85 vert before prices jump and I believe only around 5000 were made so I'm happy. You might get my 86 hatch in your shop one of these days, it needs a healthy coyote and some boost. It always loved winning races, it was a lucky car
I’ve had 2 86’s....cool cars since 86 was the year for a lot of firsts for the mustangs. Love the 79 and 85/86 front clips....just something about a clean 4 eye 🤷♂️ It is crazy though....in the 90’s and early 00’s everyone was even putting the aero front ends on the 4 eye cars along with the tail lights and quarter glass....and even swapping interior. Speaking from experience, the 79-86 dash can get real brittle if not taken care of and good luck finding replacements!
Back in '96 I bought an '86 GT 5-speed with 150K on it for $800. Only needed a new clutch cable. Interior was perfect but had the usual rusting hatch and faded paint. Miss that car.
Nice cars. I'm 56 got a 1982 4 eyed. Went with 347 with a f r. Heads. Love my little street car. They are getting hard to find and if you find one their pricey here in tn.
I had a friend in high school that bought an 84 302 GT manual for $200 in the mid 90’s. All the car needed was a tune up and a good cleaning. He sold it years later and still regrets it
I turned my 86 GT into a street strip car. I regret it because I should’ve built a 4 cylinder car instead. I did keep all the factory GT parts that I took out when I gutted it for the roll cage and lighten it up. I think the 4 eye mustang is the best looking Foxbody.
I have an 81 Capri RS that my dad helped me purchase brand new. It currently has just over 12,000 original miles and parked for years in my garage. It is white with bright red interior and RS stripping down the side with all the RS badging. It was an original 4 speed car but I got a bit crazy and have accumulated thousands of dollars in parts for a more up to date car. It currently sits with only the interior, while motor, tranny and rear end are out. I purchase a new 8.8 with 3:73s and rear disk brake system, the front end has been modified for street / road racing while using 13" front brakes. New TKO600 5 speed will be matched to a 68 302 block using a 525+ lift on the cam and 10:5 compression. The Eibach Sport Line springs, Koni's, and Hellwig bars will help in the suspension. Subframe connectors need to be welded in along with interior rollbar installation. I sometimes wonder why am I spending so much into this car, but then if I decided to sell after being put back together would I get a decent value for it. But then the value can be based on what someone is willing to pay. I may just save it and pass it down to my son who is now 30 for his enjoyment. Keep up the good work on the Foxbody's!!
I had a 86 GT i absolutely loved it!! Had the all the parts set to fix it but unfortunately had to save for a house! Really miss it!!😥😥 I was just thinking if i ever get another one i would coyote swap it! Thanks for doing this!! Ok do you still have this notch? These have to be rare! Love it! Totally off topic but how about the cobra prices skyrocketing! It’s insane!!
Always a fan of the 4 eyed freak ass bassturd years, bought a new 86GT and a used 85 cyl daily. Also bought my little brother a totaled 79 4 cylinder auto notch that we rehabbed installed Capri tail lights painted it 86 gt red.
Man they were some bad ass looking 4 eyes u showed on that clip in those 2 out side the shop are nice really liked the red 4 eye notch!! Hope u feel better!
Check the trans filter ,on the black car and make sure its not cracked or the filter o ring isnt damaged , also make sure it has lv fluid ,and if still no fix ,pull the valvebody and check the for the valves sticking and the shift solenoids ohm them out , also internal harness issues , one of those will be the problem , !!! Also input and out put speed sensors and tps sensor check it all all of this will cause shift concerns and of course check the grounds
had a black 85 gt grey interior 5spd in the 90's , perfect interior . cam swapped with a wiend stealth and 650 .. bbk thru 2 1/2 flowmasters gawt dam that thing was sweet . I still look for one like it .
Love my 86 Sand Beige 5.0-5 notch. .Saved from the wrecker....original paint. It's the only 5.0 I wanted, bc I had a 79 Ghia, trx notch back in the day I rebuilt myself from headlights to taillights.
You got the svo steering wheel if car did not have cruise control , i had that steering wheel in my 86 auto,gt my 85 was a 5spd and had cruise, had the 87 looking steering wheel
Still own and drive my 86 5.0 5 speed coupe M coupe. Got it in 1990 when I was 16. Need to put the correct side windows back in that 86 coupe. That is the factory steering wheel, mine has it. 2500 5.0 coupes were built in 86.
I miss my 86. I always liked four-eyed Foxx bodies mainly for two reasons it was the only way to get a GT in an LX body and I always preferred The Styling from the headlights to the Slanted front bumper to quarter window grilles the gauge cluster and three spoke wheel, the Halo seats it was an all-around better-looking Foxbody
I always liked the Pace Car edition, the 82 GT and 85/86 coupes. You are so right about them being less desirable back in the 90s. I remember in high school all my buddies liked Irocs. I was the odd man out. Lol Now today I would not mind finding a clean low mileage Iroc just as a nice weather driver. But I still bleed blue 😎
Go video recognizing the 4 👀👀 I just picked up my first one and I am falling in love with this car I have a 1970 Oldsmobile which I love, but his mustang well she's a beauty!!!
I have a 86 4 eye notch with a 347 with polished tunnel ram and dual 450s, lots of old school parts, Kenny Brown Super Street Cage, Turbo Tbird seats with netted headrest, had it for past 20 years always a blast to take it out when the weather is nice.
My first mustang love was an 86 GT, but I am very partial to the aero GT cars. So in that situation do you own both? I’m primarily a GM guy as it’s no secret that I have a 3rd gen Camaro, except for a few years, they’re damn near identical unlike the mustang of the same era.
I had a 4cyl notch 2 Capris, a gt! The hatch Capri was the best! All were 4 cylinder cars I put 306's in, the same motor! Had a strong 306 that ran off pump gas! All were c4 cars! Any race I lost was me! 3 light poles!
I just got a 83 5.0 4v HO found it in a yard just finished the fuel system from the tank to the pump and it’s super hard to find parts working on the carb as I type
