Introducing the NEW Wandering Hillbilly Drinking Game! Every time Alan hits his head...You must drink one of your favorite adult beverages.... His pain...Our gain!
Boat looks great….Welcome home….When I was in the Northeast and had to pull the boat for the winters I would always say “what did the marina break while the boat was stowed”….I was joking, but that’s how I felt. I have learned over 30 years boating that leave the boat in the water if you can and keep running your systems….When they sit still, they stop working….lol…Check your CPU-Senders
As always, Alan, a grin on my face throughout the episode. Looks like Simon did you a total favour with the refuelling, what a saving! Thanks for sharing your precious time with us again. 😊
Man.. I just found your channel and have been enjoying it. This video.. Heartbreaking. I lived on Water Island off St Thomas for a few years. I was headed to Frenchtown one night, rounding the bend just in front of Oceana Restaurant, and my engine died. It's a really rough break, a narrow channel, and extremely rocky. I had about 15 seconds.. Which felt like an eternity. It was an 18 ft Chris Craft, and ended up on the rocks. Every wave came with a crunch. It was.. Devastating. So I know the feeling of seeing your boat. Your baby. Out of her element, broken. Ugh. Even thinking about it now is tough. I'm sorry that happened Sir, but it was certainly no fault of your own. I enjoy the videos.. Happy sailing in the future, and I hope to run into you sometime! Tip.. Check out the Spanish VI. Culebra, Vieques..
It's so weird watching these older videos now knowing what is about to happen. You find yourself saying, "Alan, that ball you will be tying to in a couple weeks is no good!! Don't do it!!!" I'm sure brighter skies are on their way, one way or the other.
Always great to see another video and happy to see nothing major went down after the Hillbilly was dry docked. Have fun with the boys and let's hope the Rangers take Game 7!!! Have a great time!!
Missing the BVI's, time for a return trip soon. Will Omaha be an eventual retirement location for you guys? Glad the boat is okay. good luck to your Rangers tonight Alan.
Great boat manager. She looks great, nice to be free again! Rangers and Astros are in a fight to the death. One more night of nail biting. Been a crazy playoffs in all sectors. Go Astros! Good weather and safe travels for all!
Well crud we did not give you much competition for Game 7. Congratulations. Good luck in WS. Also I noticed your AIS has not updated for 130 days. Still shows you leaving Norman. May need a hard reboot to the AIS system as well, similar to the tranny reboot.
It is always good to be back on the water. If I am allowed to give you a tip: 'buy a dehumidifier and put it onboard while you have the boat on the dry or when you are not using it for a long time'. We do the same with our boat, bring the humidity down to 40 % and the difference is immense. Boat smells fresh, no mold anywhere, less cleaning, no wet matrasses or pillows. Just make sure you have all the doors on the inside open and make sure the dehumidifier can drain to a sink. Good luck.
Thank you again for you're honest vid's much more enjoyable than other U tubers only because you show us the audience what life is really like without all Special effects Hoping the weather is being kind to you Aussie fan we are now in spring here I live hrs away from a beach
Alan when working around my boat I took my hat off and it saved me from all the head knocks --I reckon the hat peak effects your peripheral vision --enjoying your videos cheers
Looking good! I'm glad there were no major problems. This is typically the week we leave for BVI, I'm so sad we aren't going this year. Instead, we'll be pulling our boat for the season. Have a fantastic time!! Don't forget to try Bananakeet! Magnificent views and delicious food!!
Great episode, Alan. 🎉 Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice to see all turned out with the transmission. Also nice to see the builder and engine mfger respond to your needs. Something to learn here. See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 🛥️🏝️👙🌞✨
Mr Carter...Always a fan. Because of you, my friends and I are heading to the BVIs on Thursday for an 8 night charter with Sunsail. Not sure if you will still be there or if our itineraries would cross paths but I would like to buy you a drink for inspiring me to get back out on the water and get to the BVIs. Our route is the exact route you have recommended over the years. Norman, Cooper, VG, Scrub Island, Monkey Point, JvD (foxy's and soggy), cane garden and home. Thank so much for being an inspiration to all of us. Hope to see you out there. Drinks on MEEEEEEEEE! -Aaron
So never say blow-up, but what about my guest is swimming with the fishes? Nevermind, swimming and sleeping....two different things. LOL. And watch your head. Welcome back.
WELCOME BACK! LOOKING FORWARD TO VIEWING A NEW SEASON OF ADVENTURES WITH YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! BTW, YOU'LL GET 30% BETTER FUEL CONSUMPTION WITH THE SHARROW PROPS. MY FRIEND HAS THEM ON HIS 48' AQUILA. THEY ARE PRICEY, BUT THE PERFORMANCE AND MANEUVERING IS IMPRESSIVE.
Your videos are always so well done, entertaining and informative. I know they take a lot of time so, thank you, for bringing your professional experience to the cruising world. We'll be in the BVI on Azur early May 2024. Hope to "run into" you and say hi.
If I saw the waves were going to be 6-8 feet where I had planned to go I would get really excited and want to go there but boat guests are the weak link. If they are in the fiberglass cockpit or somewhere easy to clean and think they are going to get seasick, they will run inside for a carpeted area or to the sofa to spew.
Alan - great video. I have learned so much from you. Can you share contact info for Simon? I will be headed to BVI with a new Aquila 54 and would like to engage him for the IndyCat
World Series Texas vs ????? Good luck. Alan you have become the rep for Aqulia and I'm sure you'll get The Wandering Hillbilly taken care of. About the same way the Wynn's have become a spokesperson. I think it's because both of you tell it they way it is. Nothing as complicated as a boat is going to be perfect out of the box. The smart builders should know this and just fix what needs to be fixed. Good luck and enjoy the cruising. Semper Fi.
Hi Alan! Love your vids. Sailed USVI twice but could not get to BVI due to covid. Headed there in March for 6 nights on a 51 Leopard PowerCat. Can you recommend favoritre Dining spots for music/sunset/party etc? We will do Foxys/Soggy Etc but wondering if you can recommend a few spots. also favorite beaches or snorkeling spots?
Yay another Gopher, go Bianca! Can you reboot the systems yourself, or does Marine Max have to come out every time? You have an amazing crew looking after your boat. BTW you need a hard hat or helmet working around the boat. 😄 Another great video Alan! Go Rangers!
Alan, love watching your videos! We are going to charter for the first time in March! Would like to water taxi from STT, do you have contact info for Anthony Nelson Water Taxi?
Alan , you really have to go places and do things that are interesting ! That was the jealousy talking , don’t take offense my envy makes me belligerent ! Great video once again ! 😎
Greetings from Houston Texas from your brother from a different mother. I hope things are going well with Tammy. I apologize in advance for the timing of the Astros victory tonight. Let me know if I need to mail you a new flag. Go Astros!
I figured out your secret to happy life: don’t sweat the small stuff, especially the things not under your control (i.e. the weather), and treat everyone with respect and kindness. You know, the stuff we already know and should be doing…
I'm interested in buying an aquila 54 soon. Can you give me 10 things you don't like about this boat? Personal question: Is the air conditioner cool enough? Because I live in Thailand, the temperature here is 32-34degrees Celsius.
Is the cheaper fuel at that spot available to anyone, or do you have to have a local with you? Might be a good thing to put in your BVI questions episodes, a place to get cheap(er) fuel.?
Did I hear a new name for your Taxi? Did you switch from the previous service you used? Curious who the new one is. No need to name names but interested to learn what made you switch. We are headed back in March. STT to Nanny then Nanny to Cruz Bay after.
Ok, I just moved an identical Cat and whacked my head in the same spot. Easy and effective fix. Cut a pool noodle length wise and pop in on! Your welcome 🤣🤣🤣
