Em, my Daddy has had his own law firm for (goodness…I think this is the right amount of years) 40 years or more. He started prior to me being a thing lol; in small town USA Large multi business office building. He was there for years alone until he and who he finally decided to partner with when I was maybe 10. We did the blueprints ourselves! I’ll never forget how stressed he was. But let me tell you, it was so worth it! It’s his! He has updated quite a few things (like the file room has massive floor to ceiling rolling filling shelves that has a “pull door” on both sides that locks and is 12 hour fireproof. So expensive, but apparently according to him helped insurance drop dramatically (and you know how much their insurance is) plus those are for open and recent cases only. The older files go in the big file room that now has pretty much the same system added with a few regular large filling cabinets. One thing I know he says he wished he had done differently was a smaller “library” it’s massive where they hold larger meetings, eat lunch, etc That room is so big that it has a 30 chair beautiful table with still tons of room, law books galore on one wall, and so on. He even has a TV hidden in be closets there for watching football on weekends lol! But he would have made that smaller and he would have turned part into a bedroom/lazy room since right beside it is a full bathroom (two commodes basically in their own rooms) huge double sink, tub and shower. And storage for towels and stuff. Then the next room is a full (small, but full) kitchen stove, full sized fridge and all) His reasons, many times when the power would go out at home, we would go to the office. A few times massive snow storms suddenly and he’s stayed at the office. Weekend work and need to rest or something…he’s got pretty much everything there he needs.) He also fills that fridge every month with whatever sodas, waters, juices, etc that “the girls”(ladies that work for him and myself, my sister, my kids, my Momma and clients , and he and Philip) would want. Expensive? Yep! But he is such a fantastic employer that some of “the girls” have worked for him for 20+ years! My point…If there’s room. Tell him he will feel more relaxed to have a space that even you and the kids can go if needed. I’m not sure how much room he’s working with…but if he wants any help, I know Daddy would happily help him after many decades of law at every stage. Daddy only does civil law and always has. But wait until Bub gets to the point where he doesn’t have to leave in a full suit every day. That’s a big moment and it starts with having his own place, and loyal clients that keep coming back where his schedule is easier to work with. Daddy says he’s retired (he said that 5 years ago.) his office and the amount of clients he still has says differently lol! This is a HUGE step for all of you. But it will be so nice to have HIS place! Promise! Holler if you all need anything! Praying for an easy transition and less stress! I love you guys! 💜💜💜🙏🙏🙏 PS sorry for any errors. Took a treatment an hour or so ago and I’m still loopy feeling. 🤪🤦🏻♀️
I have to get the lip stick from 2 faced 😮u are doing so much better for doing more than browns on the eyes and I have 2 check out m cosmetics 💄 😀 I love you em ❤️
How about a “No Buy July” and just use all of the things we haven’t seen in a long time on your channel? You are about to start “The Season of Holiday Makeup” and you will be bombarded! A bit of rest from purchasing during the summer might be a welcome break and a boost to get you going when the holiday makeup hits? My brain can take off in what I call the spinnies and it always includes me worrying about things that will most likely never happen. Hang in there and sending good vibes your way! 💕
I need a no-buy July for myself. I did just get a Sephora order because I'm running low on my vitamin c serum. I don't see myself needing anything else for a good while.
@@vickiweber4718 Me too! I just reorganized my makeup and discovered so many things that I totally forgot about? 😱 I am on a no buy for July and August. It is too hot right now for me to even be interested in anything new. 👍🏻
Glad you are doing video on makeup.we have forgotten about. I love those, especially since the economy is getting worse and I'm using a little more drugstore makeup but only after I have hit pan. I think EVERYONE is stressed right now. My mom has end stage cancer and as her caretaker it is a lot, I even stopped wearing makeup for a few weeks. My husband noticed and told me, "just wear cheap makeup, you have a lot, might as well use it, it makes you feel better". I laughed and thought it was funny because he has never been one to talk about my makeup but I think after 18 yrs of marriage, men know what it is that makes you feel better. After slapping on makeup and putting hair up in a ponytail, you do feel like you can conquer the world. Especially with a great lip gloss, I use Josie Maran and the glosses from Lancome, the juicy tube. Oh and I will pray for your dad, God be with him.
I’m so very sorry for what you’re going through. I went through the exact same thing with my mom, and there are just no words for it. I’m glad you’re finding some joy in makeup again; I stopped wearing it too for a bit after my mom passed, but when I eventually got back into it, it truly was (and is) like a form of therapy (especially since my mom was a makeup artist, and I got my love of it from her!) ❤ That was around the time I discovered Milani Teddy Bare lipstick-still one of my favorites. A great lip color really can turn your day around. ☺️ Sending you big hugs. 🙏🏼
A good cry is sometimes the best thing for us. You said it let you sleep really well. And we viewers get to see how you work around the aftereffects with your fabulous makeup skills! Plus, you seem to have super energy! So it's a win-win! Prayers for you all - but especially for you. Hope you stay the course and stay in touch with your inner self. Thanks for the video!
Hey Em. I would love to see a video about your 60 hard- what you’re eating, what exercises your doing, what resources you used, and how you’re doing it, lessons you learned, etc.Beauty is not just about makeup. I mean caring for our skin from the inside out is perfect for having healthy skin to begin with before you use make up. Perhaps in a day in the life vlog. Just a thought. Would also like to hear the books you are reading or suggestions for the reading portion of it.
Some days you just need a good cry to release all of the stress tension, some that you didn't even realize was building up inside. I had one of those days last week. Prayers for your dad's health, for Tyler's new venture, and for you and your whole family, Em. I know when there's clutter, it makes me feel claustrophobic and anxious. I love your look, Emily. 🥰
Make-up, yes!! Always good to stay in routine. I am sorry your Dad isn't feeling well. It's important to just remember that he is older and will ocassionally not feel well. Having been through and losing both parents to cancer, I know that it is also fear. Please remember to be here now and in the moment. If a cry makes you feel better, cry! Also, please consider reaching out to a support group. And finally give yourself grace. BIG hug. ❤
I think it would be fun to do a color series. Red eyeshadow look and what makeup could support that, orange, rose gold, green, blue, purple, silver, gold. Today is our pink day, etc. Not necessarily monochromatic, but colors that support the main color. You could talk through different aspects of the color. If I'm hoping to wear an orange blush, it would go well with....Orange lipstick? I would map the rest of the face like this. Purple blush? yes that's tricky, but if you just....
Also! One of your old Beauty Broadcast vids popped up (like 13 years ago) and it was Best Berry Lipsticks and I showed my husband. He lit up and said “Omg that’s Em! It’s amazing how much she hasn’t aged!”
Emily you're just a joy to watch and thankful for the honesty in all spaces. You're not the only one who is getting emotional right now. There's so much going on. Us as women as mothers feel it the most as we try to fill many spots with many titles. Meditating in the quiet really does help. Grounding in nature. Journaling. Reading the Word. Just praying. We just have to find that secret place where we can release and be refreshed. I had a friend tell me if you don't break down at least once a week in this world you might not have a soul. It's heavy. But we have these spaces we can go to to get away. To be creative. To find some joy. Thank you for being a part of my space of sanity. Watching my mama get ready was such a special time growing up so RU-vid really helps me to "escape" into something I am passionate and joyful over. It's more than just makeup. I'll be praying for your dad. For Bubs firm. For the girls. Mostly for you and all the hats you wear. May we be restful and peaceful spaces in a world that is going mad. 🙏🏼
Prayers and love to you and your family. Caring for our parents can be heartbreaking at times. I'm dealing with the recent loss of my mother and trying to slow down and appreciate all the memories. Your Dad sounds like a fighter. God bless!
Happy Saturday!!! I’d love a Ranking Mascara for Straight Lashes!! I was on IT cosmetics Super Hero and find myself waiting for you to settle on a new favorite!❤
I understand how you feel. My Beautiful mom is 82 and I always get very upset when she isn’t feeling well. I am sending healing prayers your way for your Dear Dad!❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I Love these videos so much! They always remind me of all the great products I forgot I had. Thank you.❤️❤️😘😘😘
I love those small Matte Putty Poreless Primer jars! They help my makeup go on do much more smoothly, especially on areas where my pores tend to "poke out" from beneath my foundation. They are also sized perfectly for travel. ❤❤❤
Crying is completely needed it’s your emotions being released and they’re totally valid . Appreciate you getting on here even when you have things going on 💖.
Hi Emily…I can relate with feeling like the stresses are catching up and needing a good cry to work through it, this has been me lately too. Seeing your video is literally emotional support for me lol. Sending you hugs. Hope your Dad starts to feel better soon. Thanks for this video..xx 💕
Praying for your dad! My mom has multiple myeloma (in remission). Be encouraged and continue to pray for your dad. Cancer patients sometimes just go through periods when they don’t feel great. As wonderful as chemo is for doing it’s job, it has side effects that can last for years. Keep praying, believing, & keep up with his doctor. I’ll be praying for all of you. Also, what was the workout you talked about?
Sending you so much love and prayers to your dad and family. 🙏🏼❤️ I lost both of my parents young; I’m 36 and have already been through it twice, and it’s something I wish no one ever had to experience, ever. But I’ve also found throughout my mom’s illness that prayer, positive thoughts, and lots of love really DO go a long way, and can bring about miracles. I bet your dad’s angels have his back in this. 💕😘🙏🏼
Love grow with Joe. Was doing it faithfully during the school year. Now I’m out of routine! Loved this shop your stash! Interesting to see products we tend to forget about because they’re not the newest thing anymore. ❤
I feel you on the stress! I’m transitioning out of my news job into the advertising department (in the same building) but my replacement hasn’t been hired yet. So I’m doing two jobs essentially right now. I think I’ll be good at the new job (and it’s higher paying) but I’m sad I won’t be writing full time anymore. But it means they like me and want to keep me around!
Hope you have a relaxing weekend, Emily and your dad feels good. ❤ I need to use that Em Cosmetics palette more often. The Nudestix highlighter looks great and love that lip on you! Hugs!!! ❤❤❤
Good morning!! ❤ I’ll be praying for your dad🙏. He must be a super strong man bc he has really been through it 🥲. Sending good vibes to you and your family😘
thank you :) He had 6 intense months of chemo and I've heard it can take twice as long to start feeling "normal" again. He's been through a lot, that's for sure!
I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I think we are about the same age (child of the 90s) and watching parents age is hard! Also congrats on your hubby new law firm. I am sure it will be a success. I love watching your videos! You are just so down to earth and you are like a friend sitting and having a coffee chat with in the morning! Best wishes.
Good for you, acknowledging your stress and uncomfortable emotions AND practicing self care! Stress is cumulative! Many people create a lot more problems for themselves (physically, emotionally, psychologically, relationally) by repressing their emotions. I did it for years. It was kinda scary, allowing myself to fully feel my uncomfortabke emotions, but in the end the benefits were immesurable! Love you, Emily!❤❤❤
I jut paired that WnW foundation with the L’Oreal serum foundation and it turned out to be a great combo! Plus, I replaced the dropper with a pump I got off Amazon 👍👍👍
Yay! I’ve been hoping for a back of the drawer video! I’m sorry you’ve been stressed. That affects everything. I get stress headaches too. Icy hot in the rollerball format is my go-to treatment for that. Here’s a fun question: have you ever used Covergirl Instant Cheekbones as eyeshadow?
I don't want to bypass the news about your dad. I'm sending virtual hugs to you. It's been a minute since we had a bub update. Congratulations to him on the news of his own law firm! That's a huge accomplishment! ❤
Hey Emily, what a beautiful sunset eye look and I didn't realize how much I missed colorful eye shadow. I hope your dad turns another corner and feels better soon. God bless you and yours
Em I’m so sorry your Dad isn’t doing well I pray he gets better and thinking of you. And stress is stress! It does get overwhelming and a good cry is sometimes exactly what we need. Side note I just picked up the rimmel foundation after not using it since like 2012ish and that scent brought me back! I forgot how good it was thank you for reintroducing it to me! Anyways we love you and hope everything gets better 💛
Emily, I think you should write down all your lip combinations and post them. You come up with the prettiest looks. You're always a pleasure to watch, and your stories are always fun. Many blessings
Thank you for doing all you do. Im a 3x cancer survivor and it takes a toll especially emotionally. Prayers always got me through and your Dad will be in mine. Unfortunately we are still going through it in our family but I believe it's in God's hands. Sending positive vibes to you❤🌈💜👍😉
Cumulative stress stemming from anxiety is something that I deal with on a regular basis. If I let it get too out of control without taking the time to decompress, I will burn out, feel extra tired, get headaches, nausea, etc. You mentioned that there's no crisis situation on-hand, but all the little things add up! Take care of yourself, Em!
Thank you so much for all the hard work you do, Emily. I recall that a few years ago, you did a Christmas in July video where for five days you used a palette that was marketed as a holiday release from the previous year, and went through mini tutorials on how you did each look. I believe your friend David, the makeup artist extreme from Estee Lauder, recommended it as an idea. It would be so wonderful for you to do this again! I still remember and laugh at the "dirty, dusty peaches" advice! Prayers and good vibes sent for your dad, too, Emily!
Emily has the life alot of us wish we had. I’ve never seen a more authentically nice person on social media, ever. You can tell how her kids interact with her that this is who she is. No drama, nothing like that. She really is one of the number 1-5 best beauty influencers. I’ve been her for so long, she didn’t even have children and wasn’t even thinking about it yet, probably. I feel like I know her.
It’s so therapeutic to take some time to do things for yourself in times of stress that will be good for you. It would be very easy to just veg and Netflix and sometimes that’s what we need. On the other hand, going outside in nature, sitting in silence, a walk, a workout, meditation or a dance off.. all have an impact on our anxiety and stress levels.. I absolutely adore Gro with Jo.. I love love her dance party videos..
Hope the dream stays a dream! No migraine!❤❤❤ Sending your dad strength, energy as he continues his journey toward good health! Stay strong Emily- lots of love and support! Ty for the video!!🎉🎉🎉🎉Have a great weekend!🎉🎉🎉
Good morning, Sunshine. I'm sorry you're going through some stressful times. My prayers are 🙏 are with your dad. I just did an organizing of the "back of my draw." Love you, Emily.
❤❤❤❤BROWN LIP ALERT❤❤❤❤ Ulta is having a sale right now, I picked up 2 Half Magic Lip Snuggles. They are HIGH PIGMENTED LIP OILS. they feel wonderful without all of the sticky, goopy mess. Great with a lip liner and the shades are perfect. I picked Fawnin & Killa Meows. Both are very 90’s brown. 30% off this week. Love you and take care❤
🙏🙏🙏🙏 Prayers for your dad, Emily. I completely understand the stress. It becomes difficult, as we witness the physical and mental struggles of our parents as they age. May GOD comfort him, you and your family. ❤ ya, KIMBER ~ Your Austin, Texas Sister in Beauty and Faith 🥰 🙏 P.S. Have you tried the NEW Maybelline Lifter Lip Liners? Or the NEW Persona Dreamstick Cream Blush, in the newly released shades-Caramel and Georgia? I would love to see them on your complexion. 😘
I suffer from melasma! I didn't know what it was or why it happened until I seen your videos on it, (THANK YOU!), I started menopause, and you're right, it's hormonal, that began when I started. I'm 49, and in menopause lol but I thought I was going crazy 🤪 I was sweating at night, couldn't sleep, my face started getting dark patches, I had MAJOR ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND IRRITABILITY, and went ti the doctors, found out I was in menopause and began taking a trip to Walmart, bought the product, (Amberen) and it took all of the symptoms away... I bought tretinoin ointment for night time and a skin Lightner after my morning shower and girl, FINALLY, I'm seeing results! It's been quite a journey but I gave it to The Lord and he changed my life around! God is good! I lost my father from cancer approx 8 months ago, and my life was very dark, I always watched your videos during that time because you are so positive and 100% accurate with all the products you recommend! You and I are the same foundation color, which is a plus for me because I know what shade to buy lol God bless you, Emily, and keep up doing such an amazing job! You're VERY LOVED!❤❤❤❤
Video Request - U putting a Google Form on your community tab & your viewers telling U products from BOTH Ulta & Sephora that we would buy U 2 create a full face GRWM. U can do 1 form 4 Ulta & 1 form 4 Sephora.
I'm praying for your Daddy and your Mom. So thrilled for Tyler and your family. Very excited for y'all! Praying much success for him! Thank you for sharing with us!
Thanks Emily, love to use make up from the back of the drawer. There’s always a surprise or two ❤. If possible, a Lisa Eldridge products video would be amazing. I’ve a few of her products and they’re gorgeous. Sending best wishes to you and your family 🥰🥰🥰
You look so pretty today. Sorry you had a blue day. I was just diagnosed with right breast cancer and going through all kinds of tests and labs. I am blue and scared. I only have my hubby but he's gone 10 hours day. No family. I hope I will be okay. Sorry about your dad 🙏 and so glad for Bub and the family with his new practice. Congratulations Bub👍✔️❗ prayers welcomed. Great video as always.💗🌸❗
Prayers for your dad. After going through 3 months of testing after a random test showed my CEA level was elevated (I was found to be very healthy), having no history of any kind and stressing over what I was eating and putting on my skin, it was suggested that I use the YUKA app as well as the EWG app to check ingredients. It was very disappointing to see the chemicals that are in makeup products that are hazardous for us and are cancer causing, endocrine disrupters, allergy causing and cause so many other issues. Sadly went through my makeup and set aside all that was rated bad. I’m doing more research, trying to figure out if I need to throw it all away. I’ve got a good size collection….. I enjoy sitting down in the morning and following along with you, Emily, as we do our makeup together. After going through this, my makeup is very my makeup routine is pretty much gone and I’m missing it. Can you do a clean makeup tutorial?
I love shop my stash videos Emily. You always find such great products that have been forgotten. Look at the great face you created with those products. It's so beautiful and it makes me want to do the same thing Emily. I have enjoyed this video and the fun. You and your family are in our prayers and we love you too. Thanks for a wonderful evening visit.🥰❤💖💗💙❤🌹🥀🌼💐
Yum! I made a very similar meal prep for my lunches this week. Quinoa cooked with veggie broth, cumin and other seasonings. Added a can of black beans, corn, cilantro, and roasted bell pepper. Added lime zest and lime juice. Looking forward to lunch!
So sorry about Dad prayers for your Mom and your family. Stress is cumulative, I can keep the 'stress box" under control until that one gnat-sized thing is too much and my stress box explodes. Usually with an explosion of tears. Exercise helps so much I will Force myself to do it. Very pretty look of course, you could use finger paints and mud and come up with a beautiful look.
Emily, I had to 🛑 the video when you were putting on the Essence bronzer, which i thought looked so beautiful on you because you said it wasn't making you jump up and down with excitment. 💡Here's an idea for a video. Can you tell us what makeup makes you jump up and down with excitement😂
Some CVS' has that Hydra Powder Loose powder. My heart and prayers go out to you and your Dad. I just lost my dad suddenly on June 18, and it has been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. Your videos are definitely a bright spot in my long days recently. Thank you. 😼
I still suffer from melasma and my kids are all teenagers! I use the Neutrogena Age Shield Face Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 110. It works really well on my melasma-prone areas.
I miss the pr unboxings that your husband did with the whole family, am sure he is really busy opening the business but maybe someday. Will pray for your dad I lost my mom, dad, and grandparents, all before I was 30 cherish everyday. I also lost one of my children in middle of those years before 30 I remember being so upset about turning 30 I soon learned that was the least thing I was dealing with. Take care and stay safe. ❤❤❤❤❤
Oh, I ❤ grow with Jo videos!! Good for you for keeping your commitment. So easy to start to feel that you deserve to take a break, when like you said you feel so much better afterwards AND you did something great for yourself. You are very inspirational!!
Sending up prayers and love for you, your dad, and your family. You have a lot going on but you don’t have to carry it alone. Now I had a dream I was visiting you and your family, lol! Great look! I have that lipstick in my collection. Ima hafta get it back out!
Currently panning my way through my older lip collection, right now I'm using the Too Faced heart core lipstick in Sweet tea, an Emily recommendation from back in the day. ❤
Praying for your dad and for you. Your look is gorgeous!! What’s cool about this video is seeing the daylight come up in the window. Keep shining friend!!!
Hey Emily. I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I appreciate you. I fall asleep to your voice every night. I’m 32 and lost my mom a year ago, my dad is February and my sister in April. Your energy is so comforting to me, and your videos have helped me through the most difficult period of my life. You have such a kind soul and I wanted to thank you for being you. Sending your dad prayers and healing energy. Have a wonderful day 💚
Not glad you have things going on (not for a minute) but it makes me realize I'm not the only one. We will get through this. I will have my cry. Thank you for reminding me to take care of myself. Been letting myself go lately. I send you a virtual hug and you are in my prayers. You are such a doll. Thank you for putting on a "good face" for us all. Blessings.
Praying for your dad and for God to continually sustain you through life’s seasons. Also, it’d be so cute to have your cats select the make-up you’ll be using! Pretty please😊😊
Nice to hear more love for the Vanicream products 💕 I use the Moisturizing Lotion and SPF 30 - very gentle on sensitive skin all their products are fragrance free 🥰 Take care everyone 🌹
Prayers for your dad and your whole family as your husband ventures out on his own. Love shop our own stash as I am sure we all have a lot to use up. I will for as long as I live. 😂 I am not a big brow pomade and tinted brow gel person. I tried and get that stuff all over my face. 😂 will stick with the pencils and clear brow gel. Thanks for sharing and btw love bitty’s cameo appearances. Take good care. ❤
Been watching you more than 6 years now. I guess you should try nake up brands from the Philippines. #happyskin #blk #teviant #issy&co #strokes #lovelycausemetics #ellana #grwm im confident you’ll appreciate them
Love the video - prayers and thoughts for Dad - love the Aveeno baby sunscreen one of my "holy grails" (I always get sunscreen in my eyes so I started using that) ... need to get this vanicream!!
Love the look today!! Mom, you are overstimulated, and it's ok to have a good cry when you need it! That seems to be where I live these days. WNW eye primer used to be my favorite. It rivaled NARS, but the last tube I bought was nothing like the older formula. It made a hot mess.
I’m the one in the family going through the health stuff so I can relate to you and your dad. My social media feeds are full with ads about meds for MS and I just about lose it each time. All these meds came out too late for my mom. A parent being sick is a special kind of stress. Definitely had a few good cries myself. On a better note, I think it’s time for a mom/dad chooses your makeup! I don’t think we’ve seen them do that and I always love seeing you and your mom interact.
Sorry your dad isn’t well😢hope he gets better soon ❤I got the Elf putty primer years ago when it came out and it WAS soooo dry and it went in the trash! But I bought it again a few months ago and I love it! It’s creamy unlike the first batch.
