Great result with the weather Jim,absolute gem of an island. Big sky’s lovely white sandy beaches, peaceful and tranquil. All that was needed was a place to enjoy some fish and chips and it would have been perfect 😂. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 👍

Very nice video. I know Tiree like the back of my hand, have been going there for more than 30 years, my wife since she was a baby. I proposed to her on top of Kenavara, the hill overlooking Balephuil seen at 15:40 ( also known as Travee) 25 years ago. We will be there again next month.

A lot of areas in Scotland have no trees due to overfarming,forestry etc the livestock eat all the shrubs Scotland was a rain forest thousands of years ago

That’ll be a common otter (Lutra lutra), Sea Otters are found in the Pacific coast, not so much in Tiree, though!

The DVSA used to fly me over there do do the kids part one theory tests in An Tala the local community hall. Great to reminice as all we did was drive about not any walking mores the pity.

See the house you passed coming out of Scarinish with the dark stones and white pointing it’s for sale. The Croft 10 sign is a designated camping area for folks with cars, caravans and motorhomes to use. You have to book through the Community Council it’s to stop folks wild camping with vehicles and destroying the machair. You should have been cold dipping in all those beaches🏊‍♂️ As for loosing the phone I’d probably be quite thankful that nobody could contact me🤣 One things for sure it’s pretty hard to get lost on an island. The Ringing stone they recon came from Rhum folklore says a giant threw it but another says it’s to do with a fertility goddess and folks worshiped there and the cups in the stone held blood. It’s also said if the boulder is removed from Tyree the island will slip into the sea! As for water islanders are always very happy to oblige, mind you you might have gotten a job to do when their lol. Island life is tough so know someone who farms on Coll have to be jack of all trades. Anyway very jealous of you being over there.

Stunning Jim, what a cracking adventure that. All these smaller islands are worth visiting. Pedant alert, I was corrected on this on my YT vid on Mull by someone, we don't apparently have Sea Otters here, they're all fresh water otters, and return to fresh water to wash the salt water off their coats.

Continued with ma journey & phone the misses fae a phone box to let her know am alreet. Or tap some door & ask to borrow their phone if there wis nae phone box. Defo someone from Star Wars 😉

Now i really like the look of Tiree, fancy a stroll around there with the faithful border collie, might plan for March ‘25, presumably you walked it in March, i’m not a fan of lots of people😖. The only other thing i wanted to ask you is the troosers, i like the troosers, could you enlighten me as to the make of them please 👍

Another wonderful adventure with great sights and sounds, also lucked with the weather. About losing the phone; In recent years I have taken to carrying an older, extra phone in my backpack while traveling, for emergencies.

Another incredible adventure, what a lovely island Mr B, I was thinking as you were going round “is he doing this dry?” And thinking all you need is camp site next to a pub for last night, but you resisted till you got to the boat, the less islands you have between you and the Atlantic the more the wind will play it’s part. You are making some wonderful memories. Regarding the phone, that would have a been a right predicament, I nearly had a disaster on a wild camp as my battery bank managed to drain its self, if hadn’t of been for my hand warmer that is also a charger I would have been screwed as I didn’t even have a watch so would have had no idea of time at all, I think in your circumstances you could have done is knocked on someone door asked to borrow the phone and let your lass know the score, the rest you would have worked out, because you would have had no choice, but like you say these blinking devices have everything we need invested into them, least you found it and it was still working 👌 another great video Big J, keep em coming 👏👏👏🍷fish and chips looked good 😉👍

What would I have done? Switch to the backup phone 😂 I've lost and broken enough phones that I'll always have a backup of some sort on a journey, with numbers duplicated. But yeah, sudden scare to realise your phone could have gone to Davy Jones' Locker, glad you found it! Beautiful vid. Stayed at the Scarinish, a few years ago; will be back one day.

There are indeed beautiful beaches on Tiree. I thought the terrain would seem barren without trees, but it doesn’t. I loved every minute.

Wow, ye must've needed it (I could only dream* of getting that amount of sleep, *pun intended 😉) Those beaches looked absolutely stunning. Good job on finding your phone after the little incident, hope it's alright 👍 What would I have done in that situation? I'd of used my other phone to find the lost one 😅 (well, hopefully) I've 2, ya see 😉 Sod the sheep and 2 horses that, let's say, disagreed, with your fashion choice! If they worked, they worked! Just discovered your channel mate, and wanted to say thanks, I love your videos mate I like your style, I'm heading to Coll and Tiree in the summer. I wanted to ask a couple of questions if I may. Your time lapse videos through the night, I wondered what kind of camera , go pro ect, and what batteries do you use to get such a long video? Second how do you keep everything charged up on your trips? Do you have a solar charger or something like that? I tend to car camp and do day walks, I fancy doing some of the more remote munros, and am thinking of doing a walk in set camp, then go do multiple munros, then camp and walk out. Am thinking of places like Ben Alder. I wondered have you thought about doing a kit video, tips and tricks, what kit you use ect, what you pack for a trip, I know have touched on tents and stuff ? And lastly I suspect with your accent you arent a native to Scotland and I wondered how you ended up , up here, how you got into the outdoors and if you do anything else, like wild swimming or the such like? Oh and lastly you mentioned in a video you were in a Greek Island , did you get the chance to walk there? Sorry loads of questions, but if nothing else keep up the adventures and look forward to the next video 🙂

Ey up Jimbo. Absolutely brilliant what a stunning place, absolutely beautiful. Thank god you found your phone. Like you I have the Garmin in reach mini. If you go in to Utilities from the main menu, click on contacts. Click on the contact you want and then view details and you can find the person's number. Then you can always go so someone’s house and ask to use their phone. In terms of navigation I always have the map and compass in the pack as a back up. You must have been gutted to rock up at that hotel to find it closed! 🤣 Not too sure on the golf swing, needs some work I think. 🤣 Thanks again for sharing your adventure, loved every minute of it. Well Jim that was so beautiful and I just want to visit more of those inner Hebridean islands, I was lucky enough to visit all the outer Hebrides with the Mrs on the motorcycle and I think that’s how I could visit those and then hike. You’re an interesting chap and make a great video. ATB 🏕️👍
