I hope y'all release a wireless atreus. I have the model 100 + atreus, both super ergonomic. Will try the preonic though. Keyboardio keeps dropping bangers.
I already own an ID75 that I use as my daily driver, but I love what you guys do. Anything that makes layers more accessible to the general public is a good thing in my book. I feel that most people are missing out on the possibilities you can do with layers. Keep it up.
Although I'm glad to see preonic come back, I'm disappointed this new preonic v4 doesn't have the same size or functionality as the preonic v3. I do not use a centered spacebar and would of prefer to have 2 keys as an option in place instead. Also, I would have liked to see the keyboard stay true to the original size of 5x12. This new version has a lot of wasted space at the top. I understand that you were able to add two additional keys and a rotary encoder, but a hidden rotary encoder on the right side edge would've been more sleek, slim, and innovative. I think the keyboardio preonic should have been just like the original preonic v3 but with added bluetooth and LP hot swappable switches. Thank you for keeping the preonic name alive. I hope the ortho 5x12 layout becomes more mainstream. I'll never go back to a row stagger layout ever again. Maybe if more people adopt it, we will one day see big name laptop manufacturers start to ship with ortho 5x12 keyboards built in.
We do need that space up top for the battery, the antenna, the LED indicators, and the support circuitry. (And yes, it absolutely supports two keys in place of the space bar) -Jesse
Yeah I understand the layout change but i'm also not fired up by this one... the v3 is so much nicer and compact. I would like to order a new one and try making it wireless myself.
Alriiiight! Whoo Hoo! Looking forward to this. Thank you guys and congrats. This is going to tick all the right boxes for a whole lotta folks. And wireless!! All signed up on the list for mine! Writing this on the Atreus.
We're planning to add a mode with the speaker to at least emulate a thock. (Some day, we'll make a keyboard with a solenoid that REALLY thocks, even with linears.) -jesse
The hotkeys coupled with additional functions on the knob and two other buttons. This is a hard thing to find with portable gaming keyboards. I preordered this for my gpd win mini handheld umpc. I doubt Ill find anything better and more compact that doesn't suck. Full standard gaming keyboards are bulky asf
@@desireco Everybody's hands are different and it may indeed not be the right keyboard for you. (our Model 100 or Atreus may be more your speed). The Preonic isn't a new design, just new to us. Earlier revisions have been incredibly popular with folks who like ortholinear layouts. (There are about 17,000 people on Drop.com's waitlist for their out-of-production kit for the old wired version of the Preonic.) -Jesse
