I did B2B with royal at Miami. Was the easiest well run process ever. We were back onboard at 10am and in the pool at 1010am. Was the only time we've ever had the whole solarium to our selves. It may have only lasted 30 minutes but we really enjoyed it!!!

Back before there were drink packages, we did a B2B on Carnival with turn around in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Because it was officially embarkation day for many joining the ship, we brought our documents and the "in transit" slip, got off the ship, bought 2 bottles of wine, dropped them off in our cabin, got off and bought 2 more.😅🥂

I love doing B2B. You know how the cruise director and the crew are saying goodbye to everyone the night before? And you don't have to! It's great.

We've taken 1 B2B cruise. It was on Royal Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale. Eastern and Western Caribbean. It was a piece of cake. We stayed in the same room. Around 10 am, we went to the MDR with the others. After maybe 30 minutes, they walked us through customs and right back onto the ship. I doubt the entire process was 45 minutes. I totally endorse B2B cruises.

Just did b2b cruises on Saga, a British cruise line for … mature travelers. I was able to book the same cabin. No need to leave cabin at a particular time. Was able to go in and out of my cabin whenever I wanted. Could have left the ship to look around Dover, but I stayed on and had the run of the ship along with the 16 other hangers on. They even had a special lunch for us. Will be doing another b2b next year and will likely use the opportunity to visit Dover Castle.

We had a B2B when RC Allure of the Seas was transitioning back to Florida from being in dry dock for refurbishment. It was a 21 day Mediterranean Transatlantic to Fort Lauderdale from Barcelona. We had the same room for the entire B2B and the transfer ticket was called the “Golden Ticket” to skip the line and go through the crew entrance to get back on the ship. We did get off the ship when we got back to Barcelona from the Mediterranean portion of the trip so we could see the sites, especially the Sagrada Famillia church. Everything went so smoothly throughout the entire cruise.

We used to take Celebrity’s 14 night Caribbean cruise in the winter and would meet some of the same cruisers from year to year. We did this about 4 - 5 times. When the cruise was discontinued, we decided to sail on a B2B cruise on Celebrity Edge. It was a very different experience. Because the ship had to return to Fort Lauderdale after 7 days, we couldn’t sail to all the way down to the ABC islands. The ship did the usual Eastern/Western itinerary. Because it was a 7 day cruise (repeated), the menus and the shows were the same each week. We now book the longest Caribbean cruise we can find each winter. In January 2024 we are booked on an 11 night Caribbean cruise on The Beyond. We expect 11 different menus and 11 different shows. The itinerary includes the Panama Canal, Cartagena, Colombia, and the ABC islands - a more interesting itinerary.

Thanks! As with most travel, prepared to follow local rules. Our B2B in Amsterdam was the easiest walk off - spent the day wandering and then returned after lunch. Was surprised on our B2B at San Pedro that the pols and hot tubs were all closed for quite a while as we had thought to enjoy those. That time we walked off to zero out and walked forward about 20 yards to the new security station and we're back on the ship. Love a consecutive cruise and as airline tickets can be as much as the sailing we are looking for even more.

We did our first B2B cruise and Celebrity Summit (4 + 5 night) this year). Great video! We loved that we could get back on the 2nd leg and get PREMIUM early access to the Solarium (had it to ourselves) on turnaournd day. Weird benefit, you get to meet some entertainers that have do to do the B2B process as well. Les Greene and the Swayzees had to go through the B2B re-boarding as well ...and they put on perhaps the greatest Poolside concert / party on the 2nd leg of our B2B!!!!

Thanks so much for this info! Just booked a 21 day from Rotterdam for next July. It is a 14 plus 7 day so I’m assuming that’s considered consecutive. I also noticed that, when considering an excursion in Rotterdam, a message popped up that I could not book an excursion for the day in our cruise when we were in Rotterdam to embark/disembark passengers if we were continuing on the ship. I realize now it is in case there are customs issues.

We have done several back to back cruises. Everyone has been different. I can't remember who we were sailing but we were in Southampton. All B2B folks went to the theater -checked out and back in. We left the boat and took a train ride to a town about 15 miles away and did some geocaching and had some lunch. It was a very smooth process. Walked right back on the ship when we returned.

We are planning a B2B to one-way trips connecting in Tokyo. One thing you didn't cover is: when the continuing port is a bucket-list port in it's own right, can you do excursions in port? The final boarding time at an embarkation port is far earlier than at other ports.
@JJCruise
@JJCruise 5 месяцев назад
This truly depends on the port and cruise line, but usually there will be an excursion or two offered for those on B2B cruises. If not, we recommend asking shore excursions team early into your cruise if they would be able to add one for B2B guests. This happened on one of our B2B cruises and Celebrity created one for B2B guests due to the requests. ☺️

Great video guys, but we did several b2b and sometimes the cruise line sell the b2b as a single cruise with the same reservation number. If this is the case it is business as usual, no need to do anything just enjoy the day. Great story about Sydney that is something to remember!

THe most accurate thing I can tell you is that it depends totally on the cruise line, the port, the Customs requirements, etc. We've even had things vary on same ship, same port a year apart. Probably the only consistent thing I can tell you is that the cruise line will put written instructions in your cabin on the second to last day.. We've done B2Bs on at least 3 lines, multiple ports on each line...and each time it was different.

You have become one of my favorite cruise vlogs. I've been on two back-to-back cruises...Celebrity in the Caribbean and HAL in Greece. Both totaled 12-14 days of cruise time. I would not do a back-to-back if I didn't have the same stateroom; otherwise, too much of a hassle. Lucky for me, no surprises. My time at the meeting place was under 1 1/2 hours. Enjoyed both very much, though I thought HAL did a better overall job.

Not a backpack cruise but after leaving the ship, we were renting a car and going to Port Everglades and then to the Florida Keys. We should have looked at the weather. I’m dressed in a skirt and a tank top and my friend similar and it’s pouring down rain. We skipped the Everglades and just headed to the keys. Thanks for the information guys. I had no idea that each cruise line did this so differently.

Definitely, Definitely, Definitely keep the same stateroom. Packing and moving takes away from the B2B experience. Also, i can tell you we did a B2B with family who lived in the port city. They ran home on turnaround day to get some some stuff done and that certainly interrupted their relaxation. They said never again. Some cruise lines do this better than others. On Disney, we were left to fend for ourselves the first time. After having done a B2B on other lines, we had our TA escalate what happened with us because it was unacceptable. Our next 2 B2Bs were MUCH better after that. So if you use a TA and they have an escalation path, use it. Also make sure if have OBC that's nonrefundable, make sure you use it up on the first cruise. It won't carry over.

We've done 2 B2B's one with Princess and one with Royal Caribbean. Princess was far superior. The Royal Caribbean one was so disorganized. We were told to go to the theatre in Seward to get our new cards only to be told that we could not go back to our staterooms. Majority of the passengers did not bring anything with them to be able to get off the ship because we were not told we had to bring stuff to the theatre. Eventually enough people complained that they allowed us 20 minutes to go get our stuff.

On a B2B day how do you handle tech stuff from (probably) your earlier airline carry-on? - Ask Front Desk to hold onto it (or some part of it)? - Walk off ship (after 11am-ish) for your day in the B2B port carrying the tech bag? - Wait to leave ship until later when you are authorized to take tech bag to your new cabin? - Leave tech bag in old cabin along with suitcase hoping for an "event-free" transfer by the cabin stewart to the new cabin? - Skip "exiting" the ship? Really stumped on this issue. Thanks for any advice.

I did four weeks so I had to get off three times intransit. First time we went off together downstairs to customs. Very quickly we were in a room for a short time. Back on before 10:30. Next week was total chaos. So many people hadn’t left the ship including about 14 that hadn’t done the intransit. They were paging people. Tracking them down to get off. By the time they started trickling off the group for intransit was booing them. Then a supervisor came over to see if we had gone through customs which we hadn’t. Finally got to go through customs then wait to reboard. Next weekend they changed meeting spots, which I didn’t know because why would I go to the early morning meeting when I had done this twice already. Once I got to the right spot they were checking off names for intransit so they could call the stragglers. There were people that hadn’t disembarked and they paged them. Finally we got off and went through customs. Then waited for the ship to clear and back on around 11. Three different experiences so be flexible and don’t get too excited. We were asked to bring passports but they never looked at them. I would still bring it.

Regarding cell phones: Most b2b cruisers would be from major ports from their home country, and so would likely have regular cell coverage without the need for wifi during the b2b cruisers wait time.

We have actually found it to be the opposite abroad, most B2B cruisers for longer sailings are wanting to make the long distance international flight worth it by staying for multiple cruise itineraries. Of course, 3 and 4 night - B2B cruises may be different. But, we have found a surprising make-up on our 7 night+ B2B itineraries. ☺️

We had a miserable turn around. We booked a 14 day cruise not knowing it was two 7 day cruises. We had to meet in the theatre. And then we were escorted to the area where you find your luggage when people are getting off. We were there for over an hour ( standing, no place to sit) waiting for two selfish couples did not leave their cabins and had to be escorted off and then, ad only then were we able to return to the ship.

Great question! Honestly, they are supposed to hold onto it for both sailings but we’ve heard of some people picking it up the night before like everyone else heading and keeping it for the second sailing. So technically you aren’t supposed to but some may still do it and never get caught. 😅

I'd be interested to her your thoughts on "Side to Side" cruises where you get off one ship and get on another in the same day. I am, for example, getting off the Norwegian Viva on December 13th and getting on the Scarlet Lady that same day (in Miami). I am operating under assumption I will get off the Viva, walk down the pier and board the Scarlet Lady. Am I setting myself up for failure?
@JJCruise
@JJCruise 11 месяцев назад
Hi Eric! If there isn’t sidewalks the port workers may not allow you to walk between ports (we’ve never done that before). The worst case scenario would be to hire an Uber, but you could always ask the port workers or cruise line if there are any shuttles running between the piers (that is what we’ve done in the past).
@cruisingwitheric

@@JJCruise Yea, Virgin Miami and just 3/4 mile down the pier from NCL. I've walked it before when an Uber dropped me at the wrong end. LoL Should be OK.

I suggest you bring up a map of the port to see how far apart the 2 piers are. Also by looking at the port schedule it will tell you where each ship is docked so you know proximity. Miami cruise port is huge and SO BUSY. I made mistake ONCE of thinking I could walk from Bayside marketplace on over the bridge to the port. Well I did it but almost died trying. It was so HOT---there are so many cars, busses, people etc etc. Nobody stopped me---wish they had LOL. It didn't feel dangerous was just hard so I think there was sidewalks. Pack light, hope you can find a shuttle--not sure if there is one---have water with you. Good luck. There is always a way......... BTW getting an uber out of port Miami is awful on a busy port day. And cell phones seem to not work that well because there are so many people trying and so much cement building around---everyone me included had problem last year outside the new NCL terminal. After a lot of trying ( I was leaving the port ) I got in the long taxi line and out of there---when you finally leave- after second cruise --if airport transport is an option---take it. (oh and the construction in downtown Miami is not fun so give yourself lots of time to get to the terminal in the first place. Don't want to scare you but just be prepared if there are many ships in on the day you embark.
@cruisingwitheric
@cruisingwitheric 11 месяцев назад
@@jlgcannuck If you bring-up a map of Dodge Island, Miami you'll see Virgin is Terminal V at the west end and NCL is terminal B, about a mile down. No Uber driver is going to take that short a trip. I have a number of friends on the NCL cruise. I will probably hitch a ride on their Uber to the airport.

Hi guys, hubby and I are retired and want to do a B2B cruise. We are completely flexible with time of year. We are past guests on Celebrity and Carnival. We are open to wherever we can get a deal. We currently live in Belize, so I am aware we will have to fly to a port. Would love to hear suggestions! Also we can book into 2025. Thanks, love your videos!

Not sure why you'd want to schedule a back to back with a 3 and 4 day cruise. Why not just schedule a 7 day? Is it cheaper or is it more beneficial? Why go through the hassle?

This information isn’t completely accurate. I did b2b last month from Vancouver BC to Anchorage then back to Vancouver on the HA Nieuw Amsterdam and never had to leave my cabin, pack, move or do anything else during the turnaround. I spent the morning mostly on the pool deck and enjoyed a hot tub while most of the other passengers enjoyed a cold morning with howling winds and horizontal rain. I even kept the same cruise card. I suspect you have only done b2b in foreign ports.
@JJCruise
@JJCruise 11 месяцев назад
We suspect since it was HAL that you had an interport sailing with an interport stop in Anchorage, not an actual B2B cruise. HAL and a few other lines provide booking options where you can go on 14, 21, 28+ night sailings as a whole or just a portion of the cruise for less nights such as 7 nights. These are interport sailings and guests will disembark and embark at certain ports during the cruise. HAL has A LOT of these sailings. This is actually extremely common in the Mediterranean as well with multiple cruise lines, including Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean. These are different than a traditional B2B cruise as these “interports” are ports where guests can get off (end) or start (embark) their cruise, but the true, bookable sailing is still continuing. Very complex, but wanted to clarify as we’ve booked clients on many of these sailings ourselves and it is exactly as you experienced. ☺️ Thanks for adding your experience to the comments! Definitely another cruise sailing to try (especially since your account stays active and is much easier to relax!)
