This helped me improve my boosts. I realized my problem was (often still is) jumping too close to the wall. Fun addition: based on these skills, I kinda spontaneously invented a new move: corner double look wall boost. I did it at the first spot with the yellow wall. Method: run at the white wall thing, jump, turn toward the yellow wall, boost off the white, turn away from the yellow, boost off that. It functions like a quickturn except you get to bunny hop. Idk how useful it would ever be to pull a 180 in the middle of a run.
I appreciate that, more to come! It can be pronounced a myriad of ways. The most common I use is Foe Shop but I also use Foe-E but only when I'm pronouncing Foie by itself without Schopppe, most people call me that as it is short and unique enough. I also sometimes go by Fwah Shop (Like the food). So yeah you can basically say whatever you want.
@@toshirokigai Not really, I liked how it sounded and looked. What helped me come up with it was two of my favorite songs at the time I was looking for a new name, "Foie bump" by Joji & "You Look So Good" by Moe Shop, so I just combined the two. For this reason I also use fee as a pronunciation sometimes (although it is rare and I only use it when I want a throwaway account etc).
Copied from other comment but for anyone else that might see this: You crouch first, then jump. If you coil you are jumping first which is the wrong order.
Also Night Sky (a console player) said he is working on a controller tutorial since he just got a PC and a mic to do so, when he makes it I will link it here :)
Cool. I saw night skys speedruns they're so cool, and thanks for telling me this, Im trying to learn some tricks so I can feel good while doing it since servers are shut down. Hope night sky makes the console guide.
How do you press the keys W, D and F at the same time?)) I tried using the F key for jump, this is convenient for bunny hop, but strafe to the right is very inconvenient.
I wouldn't recommend using F for jump, it is just what I'm used to, but if you insist to use it, I keep my finger in between D and F and lean my finger left or right to press them individually. If I want to press them both at the same time I push down the finger in between the keys.
Nope, you need completely separate tutorials for that, they completely changed the movement enough to where basically nothing is the same besides the stuff that is supposed to be in the game.
@@Foie Aight, gotcha. Just picked up 1 after having never touched it before, can’t believe I watched it when it came out but never actually played it since. I’ve had a Quick Look and found around 2 that seem to have some good detail. Do you have any recommendations?
@thebulletkin8393 I never played much, at least to get really good at it so I can't help you much sadly, but most guides should get you there, just choose the newest as that will have the latest tech.
@user-zb5hi3fc8i Yes but it's much more tricky, I've seen Night Sky do it before, much easier if you press crouch on the wall before you press jump again, but overall it's probably not as worth it as it will fail more often since console sensitivity is so slow. Make sure yours is maxed out to even attempt one.
