back to basics lecture #3 The enigmatic dysplastic nevus Phillip H McKee HD 720p 

This video is an in depth study of dysplastic nevi. It sets out 4 basic questions in an effort to bring some harmony to the dermatopathology population. Firstly, does the dysplastic nevus really exist and can it be clearly recognized by clinicians and pathologists alike? Secondly I address the issue of whether dysplastic nevus represents a precursor to in situ melanoma. The third question addresses the molecular evidence for the existence of dysplastic nevi and how they differ from banal nevi and melanoma. Lastly I discuss the value and need for re-excisions for incompletely excised lesions. I am very grateful to Ivan for his work in making this series of lectures possible.
