It's 5th April. Nearly a month or half left till you graduate. The heydays at IIT with the non-teaching staff at the gym, night canteen and the lab form notable memories. Of course, friends are there but you get to interact with the non-teaching staff once and then no more. One can argue that these people center their business around students to seek maximum profit. TRUE.But they create a parallel ecosystem inside the campus. In the much-awaited hall-day feasts , these people bring their armies for decoration, lighting, catering and so on. The option for an external caterer is possible but one needs to have contacts in the HMC to be considered. On the other hand, the hostel caretaker, cycle- stand attendants all work for long hours and have interacted with multiple batches. The halls of residence are above par compared to other colleges hostels. I have digressed from the main topic. But the key point is the short daily interaction with these not-so-important staff creates a thousand memories
